I looooove this place! It’s kind of tricky to get to if you’re not from the immediate area, you can see it from Route 30 but have to make a loopty loop up and over the highway to get to it. Technical, I know. However you get there, it’s worth it. My family and I have been here twice and both times it was superb. You get a certified TON of food for an amazing price. $ 19 – 27 for basic hibachi meals with 1 protein, ranging from steak to scallops, everything is seasoned to perfection, and their sushi menu has a lot of really unique combinations on it that I’ve never seen on other sushi menus. Plus you have the option of getting noodles with your meal instead of rice, which I have yet to see at any other hibachi place I’ve been to. And I’ve been to a lot :) So far I’ve been to Robokyo for my mom’s birthday and Father’s Day and both visits were something to write home about. We made reservations both times but probably didn’t need them, as they didn’t seem overly busy for lunchtime on a Sunday. They have an abundance of hibachi tables separated into two separate sides of the building, and a lovely looking patio and outside bar. I might have to go back just to experience that! Our party of three had 2 sushi rolls, 2 orders of sashimi, and three hibachi dinners(lunch portions are not available on Sundays!) and our bill was $ 103. Not too shabby if you ask me!

We attended a small graduation dinner at Robokyo Japanese Steakhouse earlier this week. What the graduate wants, the graduate gets, at least when it comes to choosing the restaurant for dinner. An old converted farm house(or what appears to be such) has been expertly renovated into beautiful dining areas with tables and/or hibachi grills. There is a large patio under tall trees with red umbrellas for al fresco dining. This night being cool for June, we ate inside. I ordered an Eel Roll in order to sample the sushi, along with the Chicken/Shrimp Hibachi dinner. That came with choice of Japanese Onion/Scallion Soup or Salad with Ginger dressing, Fried Rice or Noodles, and Mixed Grilled Veggies. The graduate and I shared the Teriyaki Calamari app. There was plenty to eat, although not everything was created equal. The Eel Roll was pretty much standard sticky rice wrapped small pieces of eel with filler. The Wasabi was the artificially colored lime green color, and the Ginger the false orange tint. Presentation was attractive, but there was nothing special about the dish. Clearly, sushi is not their strength. On the other hand, the Teriyaki Calamari was tasty and fun. All large rings from the torso rather than the smaller tentacles or crown, it was soft and fresh with a glaze that reminded more of General Tso, than Admiral Teriyaki. Still, it was very good. The hibachi was also surprisingly good. All elements were fresh and plentiful. Our chef was engaging, and thankfully did not want to flip food off the spatula into our mouths. There was a lot of shooting flames from the Onion Volcano, and he agreed to a second torching for the sake of our cameras. The Chicken and Shrimp were quite good — not frozen, nor overcooked. Our Odon Noodles worked well off the grilling. Even the soup was light and tasty, although the salad was mostly lettuce in another artificially colored ginger dressing. I guess they think that is what most customers expect, but it does nothing for authenticity. Overall, the meal and companionship were both successful. Robokyo understands its market, and meets the need in an attractive house at the end of the road. The parking area could use repaving and striping.

Let me start by saying they have some chefs that are excellent here and some that seem to be beginners, it is hit or miss. The chicken and steak I recommend if you like it less then well done please order it medium I prefer mine medium well and it comes well done every time. The soba noodles are excellent. If you have a coupon printed out in advance they will not accept an electronic version this is not a green restaurant. The Yum Yum sauce is excellent on the salad as well The weekly specials are very attractive. I am reading this restaurant A 3 simply because of the inconsistency in the chefs as well as the servers along with the food quality being different every time I come. If so ask Mike is available I highly recommend him.

I will never go back & will recommend this place to no one. I was met by two seating hostesses who played on their phones and did not assist my husband and I to our table, shrugging like we should know what to do and where to go even though I had never been there before. Ordered the veggie tempura to start: WAYTOOBIG. The pieces of vegetables were so large that some of the batter remained soggy because it was stuck in the crevices of the too-large food. Took a bite of a broccoli floret and was met with mushy dough :(Take the time to chop the food into smaller, more manageable pieces. Followed by bland, old-tasting sushi.

By far my favorite Japanese Steakhouse! The filet is awesome and the scallops are to die for! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

A great place in Greensburg to get some hibachi. It was a little more expensive than I have seen when I’ve at hibachi elsewhere and I didn’t think it was any more special to justify the increased prices. I was a little worried about our cook at first because he was not very friendly but he warmed up to us after we started talking to him. The scallops were cooked perfectly for me and the husband loved his swordfish. Our server was a little slow at refilling the drinks but it was a busy Saturday night with several large parties. The restaurant seemed very clean as did the restrooms. Overall, I would return in the in the future if I am in the area. I might try somewhere else where the prices are more reasonable but am certainly not opposed to coming here again.

Very disappointed and probably would never go back. Filet mignon ordered med rare and received well done .The lobster was over cooked and the presentation was below Average. The fried calamari and edamame was the only thing that was good

Absolutely amazing food. Fried rice is the best around Stuffed mushrooms are to die for. Our steaks, shrimp and scallops were delicious and cooked perfectly. Always an enjoyable atmosphere. Always very clean.

Very good experience from start to finish! The food is great, the chef was pleasant and entertaining. The wait staff was courteous and accommodating. The pricing is reasonable and in line with other Japanese restaurants that lack the quality and ambience! Highly recommend!

I came for sushi. Even though the wait staff was friendly and attentive the sushi left much to be desired. Everything was very bland. Poor quality sushi meat and just average rice. Anything that was deep fried in the rolls was also«heavily» deep fried giving the roll more of a fried food taste rather than a fine dining taste. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with a discerning palette for sushi.

Had another great evening of Sushi and appetizers outside on the patio. Their sushi and service are always exceptional. Highly recommended.

Tasty sushi for the price. $ 3 traditional rolls Tuesday & Thursdays. Service is a little slow, even when you’re the only table.

Ok so this is like every other habaci grill in the area. Nothing special. What I didn’t like was they charge extra for fried rice. No one else does. Then with the up charge it’s the crappy yellow rice, not white rice fried. Do not think we will be back they are over priced for what u get.

I have always had an excellent meal at Robokyo! I’ve only been here for sushi and fried rice, but we will be returning soon to experience the Hibachi! We did get adventurous and tried Saki and my boyfriend commented on how hard it is to get it as hot as it is and that it was great.

robokyo used to be a great place for hibachi, but not anymore. My food was bland!!! My sushi was warm. The fried rice was awful. It was yellow and had corn in it. I’ve never had fried rice with corn in it before. Not good. I’ve heard that Wasabi is much better. I think I’m going to go there next time I’m in the mood for hibachi.

My mom and I were in town for business and needed somewhere for dinner and a local suggested Robokyo. We had the mexican roll as an appetizer that was awesome to start and my mom had the swordfish hibachi that was great and I had the strip steak that was great. Both meals came with soup, salad, rice and mixed hibachi vegetables. The ginger dressing on the salads might be my favorite salad dressing ever. The only thing I wish they had was a larger selection of wine. My mom and I split a bottle of Sauv Blanc but the cheapest/only bottle they had for any white wine was $ 30. And service was up to par, nothing special. Will definitely come back if we’re in the area.

It was alright. The staff was very friendly. But I did not enjoy the meal per-say. There was no sushi bar at all. Period. I looked all over. And also, the atmosphere is very dark and cold. I love Japanese culture and food, but this looked nothing like it. They were playing country music. Besides that, the food was quite poor. For the price it is definitely not worth it. This will be my last time at Robokyo.

If you go here, try lunch first. Lunch is much cheaper and then you can see why not to come here for dinner lol. The service is alright, but everyone’s pretty stuck up and could care less unless you know someone who works there. The food is fine– at the lunch price.
