Staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. BUT… The food was average and lacking any real flavor. Nothing had that homemade quality. I saw little to no rotation of the food and everything I sampled tasted simply ordinary. Nothing bad to say but, nothing good either. It, was under $ 7 a meal so in that respect you pretty much get what you pay for. This is one that I’ve checked off the list, but sadly would probably not come back. Too bad, because when I looked at the selection on the Buffett I was excited… A weak 3 Star more middle of the road r Stuart.

During our first visit about a year ago, we both sampled the Shepards’ Pie… then went back for second helpings. On the way out, I bought gift certificates as a gift. On the recent visit, Shepard’s Pie was not available so we pitched a [good humored] fit of rage — but the waitress replied with a very supportive message(i.e., «Come back again soon…»). The selections of entrees and veggies was ample… enjoyed everything I selected. There were six in the group this time and we were all satisfied, stuffed, and happy when we left. I’m sure will be visiting here again when I’m back in town!

I keep coming back for the Salad Bar! The food is pretty good and consistent and the selection is good considering what you pay for it. Decent atmosphere and plenty of seating for larger groups. The price on weekdays is lower.

My friend got takeout and I really like the food taste and flavors of whatever I was able to try. I hope I have a good day where I can actually sit down and eat in here one of these days. Because I think I would enjoy eating in here. Usually I don’t like the southern food buffet places I’ve experienced but I think I can grow use to this place. :)

This is one of our regular dining spots. We love the great selection of vegetables and cold salad items. They always have consistency in their food prep and presentation. Service has never been a problem and if you are tired of places like Ryans and Golden Corral, you will like this because the food selections are way better, the establishment is cleaner, you don’t have kids playing in the dessert bar. The best part is the prices are pretty good.

It was a buffet. That’s the best I can say. There wasn’t much of a variety. We all only had one plate. The desserts were mislabeled and mixed together. Their options change daily. I don’t know if we just went on the wrong day. The server was very nice and attentive. It was priced OK. But usually at a buffet we get more than one plate except this time.

I went to Green Tomato with some reservations because soul food buffets are not common where I am from. And not everyone can cook good soul food. Well, all reservations are GONE! The food was absolutely delicious. I had fried chicken, fried catfish, cabbage, barbecue ribs and I tried the fried green tomatoes. Everything was delicious and seasoned just right. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the price is extremely reasonable. It’s like 7.99 or 8.99 for all you can eat, and they have all types of meats, sides, salad/fruit bar, and many desserts. Now, the show stopper was the southern pecan cake with vanilla icing. OMG! It melted in my mouth. It was so delicious, I asked if I could meet the baker, his name is Darnel, but he had already gone for the day. Oh, another thing, everything is made from SCRATCH! I asked… So if you are ever in Greenville, SC., you have to stop by the Green Tomato Soul Food Buffet on Woodruff Rd. You will love it :)

My wife and I were thrilled to eat there. The food was absolutely terrific. A great selection of meats and vegetables. Service was very good and all in all a good experience. I will go back.

Horrible food and service. My fiancé wanted to try some new places around us in Greenville so we decided to try Green Tomato Buffet off woodruff rd. Upon walking in you can tell the place is small and the staff not professional at all. We sat and were greeted promptly by a courteous fellow and told to go up to the buffet when ready. Looking around we knew this place was trouble. Shady clientele and not much of a selection either. Let me say that I don’t expect high class from a buffet but I do expect a selection. Their was none! No meat, just fried matter everywhere. I got the fried chicken(which was fried to a crisp) mashed potatoes(that tasted like it was from a box) and some fruit(which I found out was from a can). We tried to eat our food but it was so bad we left. Complained to the«manager»(lady wearing a hooded sweatshirt) and she said in three years no one has complained about the food… wait what?! Seriously?! Obviously a blatant lie. Long story short absolutely avoid at all costs unless eating food from a North Korean cafeteria is your thing.

Been there half a dozen times now and the food is pretty consistent. For a buffet the selection is pretty varied and changes enough that a return visit will allow you to try something you may have missed before. Take the kids … even the picky ones will find something they like.

Husband, mother-in-law, and myself loved this place. The selection of food was pretty impressive. We didn’t have a bad thing to eat. The only negative thing was there was so much food our stomachs didn’t have the room to try it all. Everything from salad, fried green tomatoes(which were great! My first ever!), stroganoff, and oh my at the selection of desserts. As we left, my husband looked at me and asked«Did you rate them on Unilocal yet?!» because he wanted to make sure our experience got recorded. Is it gourmet? No, but it’s classic southern buffet cooking. And a LOT of it. We really enjoyed it, we hope our future meals there can live up to the first one.

Think Chinese buffet for southern food. Price is great at less than $ 10 and the choices are plentiful. The desserts alone give you 6 – 8 choices of cakes, pies and more. The food is okay. Some better than others such as the chili was loved by my wife, while the mac and cheese while homemade was just okay to me. Other things were not good, such as the Fried Green Tomatoes which is kind of ironic. If you are looking for a lot of food for very little cost, check it out. They have a different menu each night, so call ahead to find out what is on it.
