Urban Nirvana

Great lady that did my massage. After the massage I was so excited about a hot shower… and the water was COLD. Like freezing. I had plans afterwards so that was a big disappointment. I told the lady at the front and she counted all the appointments they had that day and told me that had never happened before. I just awkwardly smiled and giggled and paid. So sad.

I LOVE to get my hair done at Urban Nirvana downtown. I set appointments with Melissa. She is amazing. The staff is very friendly. They offer a beverage like hot tea, water, coffee etc. They take walk ins and appointments. I highly recommend making appointments. They offer a variety of services including make up. The bathrooms, hair washing stations, and tools are very clean. They use great products for your hair, and are constantly brining in new things for you to buy and use at home. I can’t rave about this place enough.

I came here for a facial today. The entire experience was very relaxing from the check in to the relaxation room to the facial itself. My pores feel squeaky clean! Highly recommended for spa services!

The products for sale were clearly expired. Smelled rancid. The staff seemed overworked and exhausted. I didn’t feel very welcome.

Ashely Moore is the best ever. Although I’m not a huge fan of classic hair colors normally. Ashely worked magic, leaving me pleased with my new classic hair color. Mind you I went from pravana fashion colors to a mocha. Ashely guided me throughout the process with compassion and empathy. My hair is soft, silky, and a beautiful color. There is no off coloring anywhere. Also I’d like to mention that the entire staff had awesome teamwork. I live in Asheville and will gladly travel to see Ashely again and again. I can not say thank you enough!

I go to Tricia at the Urban Nirvana on McBee St. I decided it was time to chop off my long hair and go for a new look. I asked for someone who was good with short and thick hair. They put me with Tricia and I am so glad they did! Tricia is a well-​experienced stylist and knows what she’s doing. She has cut my hair 3 times now and colored it once. If you like the ombré/​bayalage look, she is the one to go to. Urban Nirvana has a tiered payment system and costs a little more than I normally spend, but I know I’m paying for the quality of service. Tricia has also taught me some tricks for styling at home!

Absolutely the best place in the Upstate to receive waxing services. I have been getting waxed here for about 5 years while I lived in Clemson, SC. It was worth the 45 min drive every month.
The prices are reasonable especially for such an amazing and relaxing atmosphere. Once you start getting your Brazilian there (if that’s what you’re interested in) you get a $ 20 off your following Brazilian if it’s within a 4 – 6 week period! If you are trying to convince yourself to start waxing, this is the place to go BY FAR! Pay a visit to Rebecca; she’s the best!
I’m sad to be moving away from the Upstate and no longer having my favorite wax place!

Recently gave this spot a try, and was pleased to find a very clean, chic salon atmosphere with very friendly staff members. I am kicking myself because I can’t remember the name of the gal who did my hair (I had her card for days and now I can’t find it! I will update with her name next time I go). Nonetheless, she did a fantastic job and really listened to what I was going for. After a cut, blow dry, and styling for my medium-​length hair, the bill came out to $ 45. Fair rate for a job well done.
Oh, and as another Unilocaler mentioned previously, it’s great to have a local supplier of Moroccan Oil products (best hair control oil I’ve ever encountered!)

I went to try this salon for the first time, when it didn’t turn out as expected I was very impressed with how the girl handled it. She had me come back in and did everything she could to make it right, and she did. I will defiantly go back.

Salons are difficult to rate because its really the individual stylist that deserves the critique. Ronda is relatively new to the area and I found her by accident. She is one of the best stylists I have ever been to and has accommodated my ever evolving hair needs. Short, color, long, layered, whatever the case may be, Ronda has delivered above and beyond my expectations. I would suggest that the next time you are looking for a stylist in Greenville, try Ronda at Urban Nirvana on McBee Ave. Plus, its a great place to stock up on Morrocan Oil hair supplies!

DO NOT go here! I relocated a couple of years ago and was in search of a great stylist/​colorist. After «trying out» a handful of salons, I came to Urban Nirvana and found Kerry. She was great, but no longer works there. After receiving this horrible news, the front desk staff recommended that I go to Allison. I was assured that she was experienced with brunettes and would do a great job. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE! She turned my hair black! That wasn’t even the worse part, she was not apologetic, but rather extremely abrasive and definitely RUDE. Not taking responsibility for her mistake, she blamed it on me aging… I was 28! Give me a break! I walked out of the salon with fried hair (b/​c she attempted to fix it, end result was horrible) and borderline furious! For this reason I would NEVER return to Urban Nirvana Hair. However, I would recommend the spa next door. Inside tip: I now get my hair done at Mod Studio, they are extremely TALENTED and continue to do a great job fixing the mess that UN made of my hair.
