Wilson’s On Washington

Knowledgeable and friendly staff, prompt service, flexible booking (I usually call and can get something set up last minute), and quality haircuts have kept me coming back for years.
I’ve gotten haircuts from a few of their stylists but Terry has been my consistent choice. He’s great at making a person’s hair really accentuate their best features.
They have a plethora of salon grade products to take home with you if you need. All goods and services have been very fairly priced, in my opinion.
I always leave pleased and prettier than when I arrived!

I have just discovered Linh and he gives a very good manicure and pedicure. Very nice guy.
However, as a luxury service I was less than happy with the stained towels that were provided. They were clean, but really… They should just get some white towels and let him use those exclusively, not the ones with stains from the hair dye… just not upscale experience.

This is the very worst haircut of my LIFE! I told the stylist, Olivia, I did not like short hair and I liked to take advantage of my natural curl. She told I needed to modernize my haircut and that she would cut the hair dry to assure too much was not removed. I walked out of the salon with hair so short I can do nothing with it! It is a mans haircut! She said I wont have to style it at all… and she is correct… it is sooooo short it can’t be styled to do anything. I have an anniversary to celebrate on Thursday. I was so ashamed of my haircut I did not leave the house over Labor Day Weekend.

I went to Wilsons back in October and i am STILL suffering from this terrible haircut.
I told the stylist exactly what I wanted – a long bob with no bangs or layers. This was big for me because I had hair halfway down my back at the time.
Halfway through the cut I hear the stylist say «I’m going to give you the bangs you’ve always dreamed of and layers everyone else will want» as she cut bangs into my hair. The more this went on the more upset I became.
Finally I stopped her mid cut and asked her to not touch my hair anymore. I still had to pay $ 120 for horrible hair and then had to find another salon to fix it. I will never recommend this salon to anyone.

It is a great place to get your haircut. The stylist are always smiling and happy, and I’d say that 90% of the clientele are smiling and happy too. That encompasses an environment you want to get your haircut in. The actual salon is modest yet trendy, and very busy. Which is a good sign, because that means other people like getting their hair cut there too… but it being my first time being there, I was slightly overwhelmed by the crowd. That’s what brought it down a star for me. It was such close quarters that my stylist had to move out of the way so people could get past her. But this salon is about service. Which is number one in my book. The stylist I had made sure I was happy and listened to my thoughts and desires, and gave her honest opinion when I asked for it. You want a stylist who will tell you that a style won’t work for your face shape, instead of one who will do it and then you’ll hate the cut.
Although it was packed, she stayed focused, and still managed to provide ultimate customer service, and you give me the haircut I desired. In all the salons of Greenville, I’d say Wilson’s on Washington is a damn fine establishment. :) I’ll be back!

A friend recommended this salon, when I’m on the road for work I like to pop in to salons for a blow out, mani, pedi, etc. Super knowledgeable staff. Impressed by the size of the salon/​boutique. Got a few cute pairs of earrings. Love that they carry travel sizes incase you forgot or need travel size hairspray, shampoo, etc. Good quality products, always a bonus for stars! The owner came up and met me while he was in-​between clients and was super friendly and hilarious! Great salon, I plan on going back next week when I’m in the Carolina’s again for work!

Today I had my first appointment at Wilson’s on Washington, I scheduled myself for a style/​Wash. I had a big important meeting this morning and wanted to feel beautiful and confident. Expecting nothing but the best from this salon, I am so disappointed. The stylist I was scheduled with was 30 minutes late. I was so upset because I knew I would be late to my meeting because I have thick hair and felt so stressed out and rushed. I originally was going to just leave because the front desk was less then accommodating and I felt like I was more of an inconvenience to them. No only did my service start 30 minutes late, my hair looked frizzy and not at all what I was expecting. All that and I still had to pay for my service. I was looking to leave feeling beautiful and relaxed but I left feeling unimportant and like a dollar sign.

This is my first review on Unilocal… ever. I came to Greenville for a wedding a year ago and needed my hair highlighted, cut, and styled desperately. A friend recommended Wilson’s on Washington so I booked an appointment a week out and requested the stylist who is best with blonde highlights. My stylist, Taylor, not only turned out to be the best at highlights, she gave me the best haircut and updo I’ve ever gotten. Now I’m a devoted client and fly from NYC just to get my hair done by her. I have never gotten more compliments on my color in my life! I work in fashion, and she’s always up with the latest hair trends. She takes whatever vision I give her, and the end result always comes out better than I could’ve dreamed up myself. I know it seems a bit excessive to fly from NYC to get my hair done, but she does a better job than any of the stylist I’ve gone to in the city, for a fraction of the price. She’s not only great with girls hair… she’s good with guys too. Sometimes my boyfriend comes with me, and when she’s finished, he looks could make the cover of a GQ magazine! To put it simply, go to Wilson’s on Washington and ask for Taylor. You won’t be disappointed.

In town visiting for only two weeks and hair was in dire straits. Made appt for cut & color. The salon is gorgeous, busy in a good way and very clean. Olivia was my stylist and she walked me through every step of the color and cut and drying process. Fantastic results with shiny healthy hair with lovely color that suited my skin tone perfectly. Highly recommend and will be back.

They aren’t the friendliest group, and they’re overpriced. They know how to do good cuts, though. The reason I give them a one star is because I paid cash for a haircut and they called me three times to see if I had paid!!! They asked me to provide a receipt (which I didn’t get because it was a cash sale)… I couldn’t believe they called and asked! First, I did pay. Secondly, if they lost the money or one of their employees stole it, then that was their loss! I’m still shocked that they called so many times. Very unprofessional! Surely the place has cameras… Look at the cameras to see what happened to the money I gave you!

Alli did a great job and the atmosphere is really cool. I’ll never go anywhere else to get my hair cut in Greenville.

When to Wilson’s on Washington and a specific stylist based on the reco of an acquaintance who is local TV anchor. First time was good, VERY expensive, but good. Second time – good. Third time a week after getting color my gray was showing around my face. Went back and had color dabbed around my hairline and was then told TO GO HOME, WAIT 30 MINUTES AND THEN WASH IT OFF!!! Excuse me! I had just paid you $ 200 less than a week ago and not only was my hair not colored correctly but I HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND TOWN WITH HAIR DYE ON AND AROUND MY FACE??? Umm, NO!
That did it for me. Never again will I darken their doors, I don’t care who refers me.

Why did I ever go back to Wilson’s? Because my friend, who has the most beautiful shade of blonde hair, highly recommended her stylist there. I don’t know why, but the people at this otherwise highly esteemed salon seem to be on a mission to turn my hair orange. Now not only is my part orange but my entire head is emitting a brassy glow, especially under the garish fluorescent lights at the office or when I’m out in the sun. The stylist said «you’re going to looove your new color!» as she rinsed the goop from my hair. About 30 minutes later I was on the verge of tears as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. There was really nothing I could say… I was speechless. Yes, it’s my fault for going back to Wilson’s, but I thought I would have a much better experience with a different stylist. Not so. WIlson’s, I will never grace you with my presence — ever again!
I have already been to Ivy Aveda for repair work and have another appointment with them in a few days. My new stylist and friend, Blake, is really turning things around for me and she says that with a little patience and just a few more high and low-​lights, I’ll be back to my buttery blonde self in no time.
For the next few days, though, I’m wearing a hat!

The atmosphere here is really fun and upbeat and all the stylists have great attitudes. I got my haircut here for about 2 years– I went to Elena. I have naturally curly hair and she did a great job at giving me a cut that worked both when my hair was curly and when I wanted to wear it straight. That said, I gave that 4^th star based solely on the fact that she also gave me the BEST blowouts I have ever had.

I came in for a manicure and made a pedicure appointment. it is very basic and was a nice job, but not great. My nails were trimmed much shorter than I asked for and was a bit crooked. It was a clean facility and a fun atmosphere. I don;t think I will go back, but it was good in a time crunch.
