I have had dinner here several times and plan to go again often. Every dish is well prepared and the service is great. No reservations and small space can sometimes result in a wait for seating, but worth the wait. I love it. Pasta, superb pizza, and pretty much everything there is top notch. Seems to be owned and run by a group of young guys and they are always there to ensure their investment is well run. Best of luck and can’t wait to return. One of my new go to’s!

The service here is absolutely horrible. The food makes up for a lot of it, but don’t expect to be treated to much more than a gruff introduction and order taking. Several times half the staff was just standing around doing nothing and we were waiting on drinks, menus, and the check. The food was great, though… Especially the pastas! Some unique flavors and pairings. Go here for the food, but don’t expect much else.

Pizza is great but the people at the register are always sooooo slow in ringing up your take out order — so you End up standing there usually being ignored and watching your pizza sit on a shelf getting soggy — if it weren’t the only good pizza around I really wouldn’t bother — Doppio staff are dopes when it comes to customer — except the pizza maker — he creates beautiful pizzas!!!

Staff is rude and doesn’t care … I placed an order for delivery at 3pm … called at 4 to inquire where my food was and staff member was very rude and said«its on its way» … called back at 5pm to inquire once again where my food was and was told«WEONLYSTARTDELIVERIESAT5PM» … Needless to say, i will never order or go to this place EVER again. The foods not worth the aggrevation!

The food for the most part is well prepared, and presented, but… The past couple of visits have been disappointing. The loud, uncontrolled children wouldn’t be acceptable at McDonalds. When one of the members of my dining partner added shrimp to a small $ 13 salad, the bill on that salad came to an additional $ 9.50, for a $ 22.50 small salad, with a «few shrimp». We did question the charge, and pointed out that they had. «Shrimp» salad for far less. They just shrugged. We had become fairly regulars, to the point of them knowing what I would order. They can forget about my «regular order», as we won’t be returning. Shame on them.

I have come here on a date and with a group. Lots of options to satisfy everyone. Sadly, at one point we ordered a salad and asked if they could do some sliced steak on top – without a heads up, they did it, but charged for a full steak! Love the meatballs and the carpaccio, haven’t had the pizza yet but I want to try it!

This past weekend visiting Greenwich with some friends(including that fool Andrew G.), we all decided on Doppio since it was one of the more price friendly locations within the area. Unfortunately, when I was done with my meal, it wasn’t price friendly at all. Since I was with some friends and mostly everyone was doing the wine list, I thought I’d follow and have a glass. This is obviously where Doppio really changes the game. The wine list per glass is very expensive and looking back, it probably would have been cheaper to order one bottle since no one ordered more than one drink. For my appetizer, I shared the Tricolor salad($ 14) featuring edive, some very small pieces of pear and cherry tomato. Not worth the money. Skip this. For my entrée, I ordered the Linguine ai Frutti Di Mare Piccante($ 23). The bowl had mussels circled around the bowl, shrimp throughout the linguine, and I found a couple scallops. I enjoyed the bowl, but for the size, I could see this being $ 15, which would have made me give Doppio 4 – 5 stars. Unfortunately, it was almost $ 10 too much for me. Overall, Doppio was fine. I read some reviews saying this place was amazing. I have no idea where they were eating. Doppio features some traditional Italian menu items with a jacked up price. You won’t leave here thinking you found your new favorite place in Greenwich and you definitely won’t be telling anyone they have to try it. If you’re looking to spend more money than you need to on food, then Doppio is probably your place.

Came here last night for dinner with a bunch of friends for a reunion-ESQUE gathering. It was also my first time in Greenwich, and a friend who lived there suggested this place for dinner… It wasn’t bad at all. +Appetizer: Caesar Salad. Done well, Parmesan the way I love it, and non-anchovie dressing. Well-done. +Drink: Wine list had some nice choices. No Merlot(kind of a bummer), but the waiter made a nice recommendation for a Montepulciano which suited the meal very well. +Meal: Fettucine Bolognese. Tasty, but small portions all around. The meal sauce was done very well, but the pasta itself was a bit odd. There were clumps of pasta stuck together in big clumps, making me questions the origin of the stuff. Cheese on demand(which I liked), but the size of the plate and quality wasn’t the best. +Price: Doppio is pricey, for sure. But the food wasn’t bad, but definitely a bit overpriced in my opinion.

Twice now at Doppio, first and last. The staff appears not to care, brusk without grace. Tonight I walked in, had to signal for attention to be seated. A staffer dropped the menu & wine list on my plate without so much as a nod and never came back, while two more chatted behind the bar. I left, I won’t be back.

Doppio is amazing. Best Italian I’ve had in a long time. Proscuitto Pizza is nice. Good wine selection. We shared a bunch of meals, so I had some pasta too which was exquisite. You know it’s homemade and the ingredients are fresh. The owners are ‘connected’ to Italian grocery next door which gets the best Italy has to offer on a daily basis. The Barresi boys know what they are doing. Enjoy!

5 Stars for Food! Very friendly service! Have never had a bad experience with the food at Doppio, I love their pizza, namely their«Doppio» and Margarita pies. The Brushetta and Caesar salad are also favorites! Wine selection is decent and you can find something you like that is moderately priced $$.

Be weary making reservations here because they disregard them anyway. Waited 45 minutes and still didn’t have a table. Then a group of middle-aged customers came in after us and got a table. Heard good things about their food but did not experience as we left and went to another restaraunt. Bad service.

Super happy with this little Italian gem. Great wine, ambience and food! Went here thinking we would only have wine and apps and wound up having wine and dinner with the Mr. The food was outstanding. I recommend this spot for a date night or a ladies night. Really cute.

I enjoyed the rating from the people with toddlers who were annoyed they were not seated with their precious ones. Now I really want to go to this restaurant! Hooray, finally a place for adults!

My wife and I have now enjoyed several dinners at Doppio and have always been absolutely delighted with the food and service. The place is small, so sometimes during busy times there are no tables available. That’s because the food is delicious. Fine, thin-crust pizzas. This week we had wonderful branzino, cooked perfectly, and the best bean soup I have ever had. In fact, I’m about to go down and pick up the same soup and a salad for our dinner at home tonight. We have taken our small grandchilden there twice. The staff were particularly charming to them.

$ 25 minimum for delivery a few blocks away when I only wanted a pizza for myself since I am sick. Thank you but no thank you.

I was quite surprised when I dined here with my family. This place is welcoming and family friendly. The theatre style pizza kitchen is always a refreshing scene especially for Greenwich. If you are into seeing the cooks create magic in the kitchen while casually conversing about the world over a nice glass of Pinot Noir, then this place is a must to dine it. Granted the lighting creates a very elusive ambiance, the place was buzzing with the locals. I enjoy dining in this place because not only the staff was uberfriendly, the food was perfect sizes, but the patrons actually ate and very laid back. So if you are into a great dining experience minus the pretentious crowd of Greenwich, check out Doppio. The Gelato bar is fabulous, the homemade pizzas are delectable and the salads… oh my, the salads! I ordered the FINNOCHIOSALAD and it was perfect! If you are looking for dishes the size of King Kong, you may want to steer clear. This place isn’t for you… Make sure you come around 6pm. otherwise, the place packs really quickly!

While the food is alright(though the pizza dough isn’t as crispy as I like), the restaurant is very dark/badly laid out and the service is so terrible as to ruin the meal. Best pizza in town is Pizza Post even if it is less fancy.

The menu at Doppio consists of small plates, paninis, salads, pasta, and pizza, with a selection of wine and beer to pair with the meal. Dishes range from $ 8.50 to $ 20. There are about 16 items under the pizza menu. We were torn between the classic Margherita, Quattro Formaggi, Napoletana, and the Prosciutto Di Parma pizza. Our waiter recommended the latter, and with his facial expression, I was convinced it was a really good pizza. The Proscuitto Di Parma pizza is made of San Marzano Tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, imported Prosciutto Di Parma, arugula and shaved Parmigiano Reggiano. The crust was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The toppings were a perfect marriage and were delicious. The Fettuccine Bolognese was cooked perfectly. The meat sauce was rich and very flavorful. The pasta was fresh and soaked up all the flavors of the sauce. Divine. If you’ve got room in your belly, do try their gelato. The gelato is made daily, and they’ve got a selection of 8 flavors, plus a flavor of the week: Nocciola Cioccolato Pistacchio Té verde Tiramisu Vaniglia Fragola Passion Fruit — Sorbetto They serve it several ways: gelato in a cup or cone, a gelato sandwich, or gelato sundae. We ordered a small cup(about 4 ounces) of Tiramisu gelato, and it was topped with biscotti. The gelato was rich and creamy, and you could taste all the elements of tiramisu.
