My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner here tonight. Both the food and service were awesome. We started with a wonderful foccacia bread and then I had a lightly and perfectly fried calamari. My husband jumped all over the beet salad. I had the fresh trout which was cooked just right for me because I have all allergies. My husband had the sweet tea salmon. He is a little bit of a salmon snob and he loved it so it must have been delicious. I don’t want to forget about the wine. I was surprised and pleased to find a Spanish rioja. I fell in love with the spanish wine when we were in Barcelona. My husband had the Paradox which he loves. Too full for dessert but we will go back! Soon. This restaurant was great and Hunter provided super service. They have a great option for New Years eve too.

Listen. Here’s the deal. Food is good, prices are fine for the good good quality… and this is a restaurant we want in our neighborhood. So get down and try it. What have you got to lose? Let’s support people trying to make our community vibrant I had the fish and chips, my wife had Crab Cakes both were very good. The desert«Bread and Butter Pudding» was worth the entire check. We had cocktails(Bay One is learning how to make Martini), a bottle of wine. Luckily the servicing staff were great and my wife’s company awesome — but this place needs more Locals …to survive — give them a shot. Pretty good place and we will be Back Paul I expect 30 couples per night from now on. Go for it. You will have a good eatery to add to your portfolio.

Really, who is rating this restaurant? Ordered«Battered Fish and Chips» 18 $…it took about 20 minutes, salads… a la carte at 7 – 9 $, fish seemed to have been cooked from frozen state as it was rather gelatinous, lacked any flavor and the«tartar» sauce lacked flavor. Potatoes were of different thicknesses so many were over cooked. I asked for salt… did not help, then asked for malt vinegar… that did not help either. The bright spot… they did comp the meal. I gladly paid for the 2 beers… on by the way, wine prices very steep…7−12 $ pour

Their crab cakes were some of the best we have ever had. The fish and chips were awesome. Prices were lower than expected for such a high end food selection and service

What a hidden gem on the east side. Do yourself a favor and have your date night here instead of heading all the way downtown. Wonderful service and fantastic food. For their sake, I hope the word spreads, because the quality of the food and the obvious passion of the owners deserves the support of the community. I have been here twice, and having lived in the area for 10 years, this is the only Greenville restaurant I would give five stars.

My husband and I decided to try this new restaurant. The tables are well spaced. Wait staff is very attentive but I don’t think they communicate well as we were asked the same question by 3 different people. That said, our food was very good and the gin and tonic was made well, something some restaurants cannot achieve. I had the beet salad and small size pappardelle with grilled chicken and artichokes. Both were very tasty. My husband had the spinach salad and trout. He enjoyed both. We will return!

Incredible. The flavors are so unique. One of the best restaurants in Greenville in my opinion. I was shocked to be honest I have no idea why this place isn’t packed. Shrimp and grits, amazing. The fried green tomatoes with bacon jelly delicious. The do have a happy hour now. Everything fresh and local. Just needs a TV in the bar and it would be perfect.

Must try the fried green tomatoes and the crab soup. Chef Chad is highly skilled and wait staff is terrific.

Whatever reviewer said good food in small portions has a hell of an appetite! Great food in large portions is more accurate. We went for lunch in preparation for dinner on restaurant week later in the month. Very nicely appointed inside. Chef Chad came out to greet and seat us. Found out we were both from Southeastern PA! We both started with a 10 oz bowl of She Crab soup; full of crab with a scent of sherry and nicely garnished with a corn fritter. Took half home it was so rich and huge. Next my wife had a large fresh Caesar Salad and I had a Smoked Trout Mousse neatly plated with pickled onions, capers, diced egg, cucumbers and toast points. Another huge portion. Great food, large portions and good service. The location is not ideal but definitely give it a try!

Doomed. Unfortunately ownership is betting on good food in small portions to bring in business. No attempt to advertise in the area for the location of a previously failed Asian restaurant. Advertising consists of «Now Open» banner partially visible and another below claiming«now open for lunch». Approaching the restaurant one would think the place had already gone out of business. No hours posted, no menu, nothing. Inside it is obvious someone is trying to start a restaurant on a shoestring. Looks the same as the previous incarnation. Wine rack 25% full. Regarding being open for lunch, no indication of the days or hours open. Stopped by at noon on a Saturday and two people seemed to be eating(probably an owner and guest). Doors were locked and the apparent owner made no attempt to tell me when they would actually be open and invite me back. Gave them another, and probably last, try at lunch yesterday. Total of 3 diners including me. Limited menu with fairly high prices. No greetings from an owner or manager. Several items on the small menu weren’t available. The menu was on a piece of paper so guess they’re too«busy“‘to simply print an accurate menu. Ordered a Reuben sandwich that was small but tasty, same as to a cucumber side salad. Sandwich and a glass of wine with tip $ 25. As a final gaff, the receipt calculated tips based on food plus tax. No one is expected to tip for the pleasure of paying sales tax. In summary, restaurant in a poor location operated by people with no business sense.

I had lunch at Bay One last week and enjoyed Ale Battered Fish & Chips with Fries and celery root slaw. The fish and fries were cooked to perfection and I enjoyed the unique taste of the slaw. Instead of the usual art from a chain store, I also enjoyed seeing original art on the walls. Apparently, this restaurant has only been open a couple weeks, but when people discover this gem it will be packed, I’m sure! Much success with your venture.

Stumbled in after a day of moving and had no idea what the expect. The food was incredible. They are struggling with low traffic and so did not have everything on the menu. Service was excellent. Tried the stuffed chicken and also the braised short rib– frankly it was expensive and we had low expectations on food. Turned out we were mistaken. Each dish had Excellent flavor and presentation. I hope they find a way to market this place. The chef and sous chef have worked in Charleston.

Didn’t want to cook tonight, so went for take out. Rick Erwin’s Eastside disappointed us on the 2 takeout orders we have gotten from them so decided to give Bay One a try. LOVEDIT! They have extensive Gluten Fee items compared to Rick Erwin’s and other fresh ingredient places around the area. I had heard that their portions were small for the price but I was pleasantly surprised to have the quantity of food that we had. I got the shrimp & grits, the pork chop, and the beet salad. The beet salad was very tasty but on the small side for $ 9 but Rick Erwin’s take out spring salad was just a box of greens for $ 12(they left off dressing and blue cheese). The shrimp & grits were outstanding! The pork chop was perfectly cooked and juicy. We have left overs for tomorrow so I think the portions were just right. I can’t wait to actually dine there if the take out was this good.

Excellent, unique menu, fresh ingredients and impeccable service! Highly recommend this new fine dining addition to the Thornblade area of Greenville(Greer address). They recently began serving cocktails to compliment their very impressive wine list.
