Found this place on Unilocal just minutes before they closed on a Saturday. Realized I couldn’t get there before closing, so called ahead. Bill was happy to wait for me, though I had never been there before and wasn’t a customer yet. I was greeted and given a quick tour. He asked what I was after and I told him French and Italian wines around $ 15. He had plenty to choose from and showed me a few. He helped me choose 3 bottles that were actually $ 15 — no upselling here. I’m enjoying the first of the three right now. I’ll return to Allegri regularly. It’s my new go-to wine shop in Gresham.

Excellent selection and Bill is very knowledgable about wines. Bill of course has very good high end wines but he also has a good selection of very inexpensive wines that are very tasty. There is something for every budget in Bills wineshop

All the years of television shows saying«Daddy’s home!» This place makes me want to shout, «Mama’s Home!» I don’t have kids yet, but until I do, I will enjoy wine with wild abandon, sit cozily on my couch and sip indulgently with plates of cheese. This is happiness and relaxation. Allegri is a great place to shop for that type of happiness. I stopped in after a massage across the street, I had no makeup on because I feel guilty leaving smears on the sheets. I was in comfy clothes and my face was red from being massaged for an hour with my face in that pillow hole. Usually I would be embarrassed to walk into a wine shop in this condition, but I was so excited to see a wine shop and art gallery in one, I couldn’t contain myself. It mattered not, the fellow in the shop greeted me happily and made me feel at home. He asked me what kind of wines I liked, and gave me a brief tour of the varieties then left me to my excited perusal without hovering. The selection was fantastic, and they had a great range of types and prices. There were plenty of offerings under $ 10, and he said he only chooses cheaper wines that are worth more than what they sell for. Good value rather than just cheap. He also said he could order pretty much anything I wanted, and told me a lot of his process in choosing what selections to offer. He was very helpful without being pushy, and I chose 6 – 7 bottles. They also have wine tastings Friday night, I’ll have to visit once I open up a few slots in my wine rack. I guess I better start drinking to make room. Poor me ;)
