Whole in the wall neighborhood supermarket that serves really good, cheap food. Limited menu but basically they do sandwiches and burgers. Try the fish or shrimp po’boy on Fridays! Potato salad was excellent. (Note: They are also open for breakfast from 8 – 10). Update: Went back and tried the club sandwich. Good but the po’ boys are the ticket here. BTW a 11″ Po’ boy is less than $ 6! Good service. Friendly staff. Very clean. If you are in the area give them a try. Two thumbs up! ;)

I recently ate there for the first time and enjoyed a very tasty catfish lunch. 10 bucks for a lot of food. The catfish was very nicely spiced and lightly fried and very fresh. Nice new orleans spicy mac and cheese accompanied the meal. I really should have tried the shrimp stew with the fish, maybe next time. I’ve heard they have some nice thick-sliced bacon in their deli counter. It’s a nice treasure in an out of the way neighborhood eatery. It’s a shame they aren’t open on weekends. Cash only, btw.

This is an excellent place for plate lunches and po-boys. The roast beef is the best on the west bank. They make homemade hot sausage that is different than regular NOLA hot sausage. It is in patty form but in a gravy similar to roast beef. It is unbelievably good. Thursday’s special is white beans with pork chop or smoked sausage. This may be my all time favorite lunch. The owners are very friendly. Captain Jody(the owner) also has a charter fishing business. I believe they will process deer during season as well as making great lunches.
