I always get the chicken chow mein. I like it a lot. I only wish that they would have a Single person’s plate so you could get three different orders of food on one plate. Instead of having to spend $ 30 on three big plates for three or four people. So I only order the chicken chow mein which is more than enough. I just wish I could order two more sides on the same plate.

This place does not deserve 4 stars. Take out for two should NEVER cost $ 30. And if it does, the food better be mind blowing. This was not. I recommend that you not bother with this place.

2nd time going here and it is bombastic!!! Best place between Sacramento and Medford OR… we’ve tried all Chinese restaurants in yuba city, oroville, Chico etc and this place is number uno1… Try the Orange beef or the General chicken they are to die for, the sesame chicken and honey walnut shrimp is also bomb. Great staff and clean restaurant.

ABC is under new ownership. I have been there twice since then and the food has been excellent both times. It is clean, which is unusual for a Chinese restaurant, and the service is very friendly. Maybe my favorite Chinese food north of sac!

This place is under new ownership and the food is amazing now. It was pretty good before but it’s dank now. Spend 40 bucks here and it’ll feed you for a few days.

ABC has great Lunch specials with great prices $ 7-$ 9. There is a variety to choose from, 26 on their menu! I came in today for lunch and you get soup, chow mein, rice, your choice of meat/lunch special. Available Monday through Friday 11am to 3pm. I also ordered Hot tea and Pot Stickers appetizer, comes with six. I really enjoyed the Hot tea and the Pot Stickers had a nice side of sauce. You also get a small cup of soup, their Hot and Sour soup is very delicious!!! For the lunch price you do get a lot of food, which is also filling and satisfying. The menu has many choices to choose from for dine in or take out(I posted pictures). They do Hunan and Szechuan cuisine. This place is easy to find in Safeway shopping center, next to Great Clips, you’ll see the big red letters that say A B C. I like the restaurant, it’s very clean, simple pretty colors inside, and friendly/family staff. They have 2 flat screened TV’s with Sports or news on and they also have some Sports pictures on the walls. The food tastes fresh and not greasy or too fried! Plus it’s very convenient to do To Go orders if you don’t want to dine in. If you order Lunch special To Go, you don’t get the soup.

Under new ownership and it shows. We had our standard house chow mein and pork fried rice, and there was a huge improvement on flavor and quality. When we inquired we got the info about the change in ownership. Some remodeling has been done on the interior as well, looks great!

I’ve already said how I dislike the 1-star review, but I was pretty close at ABC Chinese in Gridley. The lunch menu is typical, w the usual strip-mall Chinese entrees, attended by soup and a choice of chow mein, steamed or fried rice. Beverage extra. I had Sweet and Sour Pork for $ 6.95(steamed rice). Sadly, this review is already longer than this meal deserves. How does SSP come out bland and soft? The rice had been much too long in the cooker, but at least the bell peppers and onions were crisp and had good flavor. And(at the risk of incurring the Wrath of Groucho) the portion was on the small side. Service was pleasant and prompt, but I was happy to get out and, since there’s a supermarket next door I won’t be back – I’d rather make my own sandwich.

I almost did not come to this place due to the low rating, but then I was really glad that I tried this place. We ordered the family dinner for 4 people and the pot stickers plus 4 root beers. Food was amazingly good and we had to take home 2 boxes. Service was more than average and the ambient was really nice. Reasonably price! Definitely will come back when we’re in town!

I’ve loved Chinese food since I was little girl. Eaten at lots of different places. Grew up in the bay area where they had the best Chinese ever. Moving to this area was hard finding a good Chinese place. I like Abc’s chow mein because they don’t put bean sprouts in it. And most places do. I also love their hot and sour soup. Haven’t been able to find anyother Chinese restaraunt that has good hot and sour soup so this place tops the list.

ABC has been my family’s go-to Chinese place for years. We pretty much order half of the menu every time we get take out. Some of our favorite items include general chicken, house fried rice, pork chow mein, pork fu yung, and beef and broccoli but the list could go on. My mom loves the hot and sour soup, and the won ton soup is great too. The staff is very friendly, our order is always fresh and ready on time. The intimate dining area is perfect for Gridley.

Not even mediocre Chinese food. You never know what you’re going to get with Chinese food. It’s a little different at every restaurant. That being said, this is possibly the worst I’ve had. I didn’t like anything I tasted, and neither did my husband who is a major Chinese food fan! It was way overpriced. About $ 30 for just the 2 of us and we ordered light. Sorry!

I feel like I must write a new review now that it’s under new management. The food actually tastes a lot better, even though I suspect it’s the same recipes. There’s a new cook, so I expect he does some stuff different and I like it. My main concern with this restaurant isn’t the food, it’s the décor. God, it’s awful in there! They put in a couple flatscreen tv’s(one plays CNN, one plays ESPN), and plastered the walls with posters of sports players. It’s stupid! Forget the fact that the walls are horrible shade of orange, this place is supposed to be a Chinese restaurant, but it’s plastered with non-Aisan sports players. It makes absolutely no sense, and it’s incredibly degrading to the greatness that is the food. My tip to the new owners(and I hope they’re reading): keep the tv’s, change both to different news channels. Keep the one sports player poster that is Chinese(tucked away in the back) and put it towards the front. Fill up the store with Chinese decorations(if you want sports, get historic Chinese players) and maybe change the table cloths on the tables to match the wall.

servers are great and friendly and very accomodating but somehow when the owner came out and started talking to us about random things, that was pretty strange and she was askin personal questions. food was not as expected. deep fried prawns had tiny shrimps, their house special chow mein was not so special with dried bits of chicken and pork and 2 pcs of overcooked shrimp. the eggrolls were a fail. hot and sour soup was not that hot but then again it was complimentary. restaurant itself was clean just food needs improvement
