was there last Tuesday with my husband, mom, and 2kids. Mom and I ordered a shrimp cocktail and it was delicious! Huge too! Hubby got 4 tacos and the kids got a taco lunch that had rice and beans, everything was very good. Except for the cashier, horrible customer service. When asked her about the $ 1 dollar tacos she seemed annoyed and named all the meats that are NOT $ 1 and said«those are regular price!» Well…what the hell is regular price?! I probably won’t be back

After I heard by many friends that Los Charros I. Gridley was the best I just had to try it. Not thrilled at all service I give a 4, food I give a 1. I tried it 3 times already and just no Bueno.

I went in to order 2 shredded beef enchiladas with beans and rice. The girl that took my order ask me «what is shredded beef?» I was caught of guard from her question. I explain it to her a she acted like she knew. While I was waiting for my order and listening to her take other order from other people. It sounded like she was a new girl. Which is understandable. But when I got home and open the container of what I ordered. It looked like someone already started eating my order. Either that or it was a throwaway order. There was burned steak meat in the enchiladas. Is was actually 1 ½ enchilada. Very disappointed because I usually go the once in a while for taco Tuesday. But I will never go there again. I live in Gridley and there is no one else that does taco Tuesday here. But I still will never go there again. I posted a picture of what my food looked like when I got home.

Hit and miss– some items better than others. We ordered chili verde tacos and the pork was untrimmed and very fatty. I couldn’t eat them. We also ordered the nachos which is my Mexican restaurant go to. Unfortunately this place makes their own chips. They were over cooked and tasted burnt. Lastly and the only good item was the crispy chicken taco which is the only item I can recommend.

The place is clean, friendly wait staff, patient when you are taking in their enormous menu. They have a salsa and chip bar with great salsa and even some with a delicious spice. Food is just good! Not bad, but nothing special or WOW! I ordered nachos with steak and weirdly got half chicken half steak … Just weird. My husband enjoyed his burrito. Overall we will have to be back for other items to try. Big + for being kid friendly too

I had lunch here while I was in town. The food was OK. Chips were stale and the salsa was watery and bland.

This place has horrible customer service. The cashier is rude and the girl that brought my husband his food, literally threw it on the table for him. It wasn’t like it was a hot plate, it was an order of tacos. She wanted to get back to talking to the cook and taking selfies. The«beans» are from a can. The tacos de lengua are dry. Most the people saying this food is «authentic» have obviously never had the real deal. Chile rellenos are made with queso fresco, not a sliver of Monterrey jack cheese. Casa Lupe and El Tamborazo are way better and are authentic Mexican. I only gave it one star because it won’t let me leave zero.

This is a cool spot. I like they have free refill soda machine and chips and salsa bar. It has a good seating area. I had a carne asada burrito and the menudo here. I thought the menudo was good. My only complaint about the menudo was that it was warm not hot. It was just the broth and the stomach. Simple and filling. The burrito was simple but there was a bland component to an ingredient inside that cut out all the other flavors, causing the flavors not to pop. I would definitely go here again. They have big menu which I have not tried, but shrimp cocktail, meat dishes, and a two foot burrito. Nice atmosphere, clean, and parking.

I love this place. If you want Mexican food come here. If you want American food trying to be Mexican, go to Casa Lupe. It has it all, Good chips and salsa, great meat choices, and great rice and beans. MEXICAN. But so few people here know what Mexican food is… so sad. They can stick to Casa Lupe, crap in a flour tortilla. Tis the truth and you know it fellow Unilocalers!

The ONLY thing I really like here is the Horchata. It has a good cinnamon flavor and very refreshing iced cold. The main thing that is appealing for this place is how cheap it is, very cheap but you get what you pay for. Taco Tuesdays are only $ 1 each. Aside from Casa Lupe and El Tamborazo, this is the only place in town that has a Complimentary chips and salsa bar!!! It gets quite messy, for a small place it seems it is always busy! The food to me is just average mediocre, but that is what is good about mexican food, there are different regions and different taste of cooking. It’s not my first choice when I eat out. The refried beans have a chorizo flavor and rice is a yellowish color. I am more used to the regular pinto beans and simple red rice. Once in awhile is OK to eat here. I wish the customer service was better, more friendly. There is not much seating and can not accommodate Large groups, most tables seat two or four. You place your order at the counter and pay, and they give you a #. When ready, they will bring out the food to you. One thing that is cool, is every table has Tapatio and El Yucateco bottles. I had never seen El Yucateco before, it’s a green chile and wow, it is spicy HOT!!! They do have a Fountain soda machine, a fridge of Jarritos and different beers. Definitely will come back for the Horchata … they also have Melon juice and Pineapple juice too,(which is right next to the register).

Ambiance is good. Looks like a lot of people stop in regularly. Once I got to order my food, I still hadn’t decided between two items and asked the cashier for some advice on which was better, she couldn’t give me an honest answer since she still hasn’t tried one of the items but assured me both items were popular. No biggie. I ended up ordering the chicken burrito but ended up with a somewhat cold beef burrito. The horchata is good, I’ll for sure come back and give these guys another chance.

I am quite a regular at this place so I like it very much. This joint has unlimited chips and a salsa bar which has a lot of choices and they are all pretty tasty. The menu is large with all the typical taqueria choices burrtios, nachos, tacos, tortas etc… there is a specialty plate area on the menu with items such as carne asada plates and fajita plates. Some of the things I don’t like about the food is that sometimes the meat seems to not be the best quality in the nachos and tacos and burritos, although in the specialty plates they are good, the beans are good rice is good but just not to great of quality on burritos which is why I usually get nachos. The nachos have good portions and they are really good! strongly recommend them. All around this place I would give 4 ½ I would but a 4 will suffice.

You can judge a Mexican restaurant by the quality of the following: — Chips & Salsa — Beans & Rice And this place has them all and very well! I loved their salsa; limey and spicy! I was passing by and decided to try this place out and it did not disappoint. The salsa/chips bar was hands-down my favorite part of this restaurant. I had a Chimichanga de Asada and it was very delicious. Food tasted fresh and came out at a very reasonable speed. Agua de Horchata was on point too! Definitely recommend this place!

We decided to stop here for lunch on our way from Sac to Chico with no expectations other than it’d be cheap Mexican food. What we didn’t realize is that we were getting cheap and extremely tasty Mexican food. The gf got fish tacos and I a chicken burrito. Wow were they good. They even had a television with the Colts game on so we could enjoy our Sunday morning NFL as we chowed down. This is a nice little gem in a small town. We’ll return the next time we are in the area and hungry.

Stopped by on my way to Chico. I had a taco platter with Asada with chips and salsa. To begin, the chips were not homemade but the salsa was. The salsa bar was very good. The meat on the taco had an aftertaste from meats that you usually get from poor quality or frozen. The beans tasted as if the where from a can. The rice was oily and the best part of the platter. I am of Mexican dissent, so I am speaking from someone who has had some of the best meals from mom and relatives. I’ve also traveled allot and have enjoyed excellent meals from Mexico and throughout the USA. This restaurant was not memorable in the least. The restaurant is clean and cheaply priced. My rating is based solely on the food.

I was working close by so I decided to get out of the downpour and have myself a taco and I’m glad that I did. I got a steak and a grilled chicken taco which were both excellent. I enjoy the basics, both had flavorful meat(the grilled chicken was excellent), salsa, onions, and cilantro. They had chips and a salsa bar with 8 different fresh choices. It was very clean and inviting. I would have given them 5 stars except they do not offer fresh brewed iced tea, which is my drink of choice. There’s still a lime shortage so only lemons with your food.

What a great find! Passing through town. Thank you Unilocal!Clean taco shop, fast, with a broad menu. Had a carne asada taco, very good meat and salsa. Perfect taco truck like taco. Also a jumbo el pastor burrito. Thought that I got exactly what I paid. I was really happy with it. Chips and salsa bar was good as well. This will become my Gridley stop every time I pass through town moving forward.

Good variety, good quality, and low prices. What more could you want from a Taqueria.
