Intimate and friendly. Food is tavern fare, not great but good. Beer is solid. Like the fireplace, look forward to winter.

Pleasant atmosphere. Good service. Love the seared tuna. Burgers are tasty. There is no wow factor here. It’s a nice neighborhood restauant with good, basic food.

Went here the other day at the suggestion of a friend. Not at all bad! I had a chicken sandwich(can’t remember which one. maybe avocado chicken?).that was very good. Service was attentive. and place is nice. Nothing fabulous. but all in all, very good. Will be back again.

I hate giving one star to a place that used to be so good… Before they switched owners, they were amazing. Last time we went, my daughter ordered the fish and chips– I swear they must have deep fried it 5 times! It was DISGUSTING. She was nauseous for 2 days. Much better as Lucy’s. An overall bad place, and I will not be returning until the quality of the food improves.

Love it! Great drinks, awesome food(esp. for a local suburban bar) and awesome staff. Super friendly and accommodating. Loved the fact that it wasn’t packed on a Fri. night. Most def recommend coming here if you’re in the area!

I was so surprised by all of these poor reviews. i was there friday night with my hubs, my bff and her fiancé. Our food was great, service was a bit slow, but it was super packed and we all like each others company so no biggie. Its not super fancy and the food isnt astonishing, but it is quite good. I had the chicken, my husb had a burger, bff had the fish and her fiancé had the ribs. The only complaint i have is that the menu is quite limited and it is overpriced, but apart from that, none. We will most definitely go back.

Eek! Methinks not is right! This place thinks it is something it is definitely not. You always hear that English food(up until lately) is bland & boring. Lucy has completely grasped this notion! No one at our table enjoyed anything about this place… food, service or décor. Bleeeech!

Nasty and over priced. Used to be a nice place. New ownership ruined the place. A once well respected and loved restaurant gone. went here for years, but not anymore. Horrible servers as well.

I used to be a huge Lucy’s fan, but I think they may be under new management, or at least have a new kitchen. The menu has completely changed and it is not an improvement. I got the vegetable curry. It was really nothing special. Some of the pieces of butternut squash in the curry were undercooked, and the sauce was mediocre. I’m not an advocate of giant American portion sizes by any means, but this came as a small pile of veggies on a giant plate of white rice. The rest of my table was similarly disappointed in their meals.

Kind of sad. Newer ownerS, no yummy bread brought to table like they used to do. Asked our waitress about the bread and she said you have to ask for it now. Food is okay, nothing special and overpriced. Desserts seem to come from a box at Costco. There’s better out there.

We were very pleased with both the service and the setting. The fireplace seats were nice since we happened upon this place on a pretty cool night. The food was good … not great, but very good and the portions were generous. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly and you know that that goes a long way toward making a dining experience positive. Overall, we were very pleased and we’ll be stopping in again … if we can pass Jumps without going in there first.

Great cozy patio, delicious food(meze platter, nachos, gazpacho soup) and great wine selection. All I can ask for. The twinkling lights on the ceiling aren’t bad either.

Great location. I find the food selection boring, mediocre and way over salted. The restaurant itself looks dirty and dark, along with the flatware; the carpet looks like it has never been cleaned and the bathroom is filthy Outside dining is nice. Will not return.

They have some good dishes… some are a tad over-priced, but overall a decent place to go. It is cute and quaint on the inside.

Its fine. Nothing stands out as being great, but nothing stands out as being awful. Reasonably priced, lots of beer choices, patio, what’s not to like.

Finding it’s home on Kercheval in Grosse Pointe, Lucy’s Tavern On the Hill is a cozy and inviting restaurant to grab a delicious lunch or dinner. The restaurants warm setting makes for great ambiance, only making the dining experience that much better. Lucy’s menu has everything from seafood dishes to stir fried duck salad to Portobello mushroom sandwiches. In other words, there’s a bit of fare for everyone at reasonable prices for the quality and quantity patrons receive. What I like about Lucy’s(besides the darling blinking lights in the ceiling that look like stars and makes me wonder if the owner is a Beatles fan), is that they take traditional American ingredients and put a spin on their dishes. As a result Lucy’s makes tasty American food in a bit of an unconventional way. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. When i asked for a wine pairing for my entrée my server listed off a variety of choices and then confirmed with the bartender that these were indeed the best pairings. As a customer, I was nice to feel taken care off. If you’re looking to have a romantic dinner at a reasonable price or just a casual lunch on a Wednesday with coworkers, check out Grosse Pointe’s Lucy’s. iIthink you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
