Nothing spectacular. I thought it would be like the old sanders. Nope. The nicer one is on harper in St Clair Shores. A bit pricey tho. I guess nothing will ever be like the old one. Cone paper cups, chocolate soda with a tuna fish sandwich with pickles

The hot fudge creampuff sundaes are the best! I always take friends from out of town here when they are visiting. Everyone I’ve ever taken to this location has really enjoyed their treat! In my experience the service has always been great!

I want to like this place so much and make this my go to place for ice cream, but every time our family goes they can never get it right. The ice cream is great and a lot of what you’re buying is very local, high quality food. However something basic always goes wrong with every visit: running out of whipped cream for sundaes(like you can’t run down the block to Kroger and get some?), running out of basic ice cream flavors, running out of classic sundae toppings, chipping frost off the freezer and getting chunks of ice in the ice cream, having two employees working on what’s guaranteed to be a very busy night(the other two ice cream shops were prepared), etc. The ice cream is best you’ll find anywhere, if you can get past the service hiccups.

We were just driving around and came across here. Even though it was December I parked and took the family in ice cream. Love the selection of treats and ice cream.

I had a horrible nightmare today that I was stuck in the book The Stepford Wives. Then I realized it was not a dream, and that Stepford is alive and well under the alias of Grosse Pointe, MI. Sanders is set amongst a bland back drop of shops that look safely alike as not to offend, and streetlights that play recordings of singing birds to make the already surreal town seem even more cute(I’m serious about that — bring a vomit bag just in case). The ice cream parlor is clean and bland and the counter was manned by a gaggle of three high school girls — I wouldn’t be surprised if they were all named Heather. But the Sanders flowed like sweet elixir. We got a bumpy cake sunday, which was great. I was a bit disappointed that they do not offer bumpy cake by the slice? What the??? But we were able to get the cake and ice cream separate. Over all it was great junk food, in a good safe family setting.
