Little and quiet beach. Great for young children and it is also dog friendly. Plently of free parking across the street. Showers and bathrooms on site. Not a place to spend a whole day at the beach but nice for an hour or two.

5 stars alone for being one of the lone beaches in New England that allows dogs on it all day and all year long. Bonus stars for having a picnic area with lots of shade from the trees at the back end of the beach. Won’t find that too many beaches that offer that. Snack bar and bathrooms are about 100 yards from the water. Parking lot is close by and there is another one across the street. We will definitely be back!

Not the best beach in the area, but it’s close, quiet, and the parking is free. In the summer groton parks and rec has league beach volleyball. That is always a blast.

We went around dinner time to have a picnic and relax. Not the best beach to go swim at but the kids loved playing in the sand, watching the boats and catching the sunset. Not crowded on a Saturday evening and perfect for a little family time.

This beach was very small and plain and nearly empty on a Sunday morning. It is near the harbor on Groton Long Point and it is a town beach. This was the only place we found in the area without being restricted to residents with car stickers. The lot had room for about 10 cars, that’s it, so we figured most people who knew about the beach, walked or biked there. There’s a little snack place next to it and was accessible to strollers and wheel chairs with a little nylon woven runner/tarp/thingie from the sidewalk down to the water. We had tried several other access points along the coast near Guilford and Madison but they are very nice beaches near very, very nice homes and completely restricted. You cannot even park along the streets in the towns and walk to the beaches. The houses had multiple luxury cars parked in each yard and absolutely nothing on the streets nearby, and many, many«No Parking» signs. So we kept driving east until we found Esker Point, just for a look.

Great quiet beach to relax, listen to the water and sit with the dog. Made our weekend getaway perfect.

Located off of Groton Long Point Road, this is a nice little beach in Groton when my toddlers had a great time while they were little(they still like it, while it lasts :-)). The water is not too deep, there is no wave action and a lot of sand for playing. One of the fun activities is to look for hermit crabs in the rocks. There is a nice little park there where you can grill and have a nice picnic for the day. Parking is free, and there is a larger lot across street. There is a seasonal concession stand and public restrooms. This is a great, free beach.
