The food is impeccable! The wait staff and owner are the sweetest, and even take time to get to know you, in a good way. They care about how you like your food and speak English very well! I love all the food and recommend the lamb saag for spinach lovers and chicken tikka for everyone! It is so amazing!

Came here for the $ 10.95 lunch buffet on a Thursday. Good service and pretty darn good Indian cuisine. There were 9 entrees out + salads/chutneys/sauces + a dessert(fruit pudding). Among the 9 entrees, there was the Gobi manchurian, vegetable poriyal, mushroom saag, tandoori chicken, chana masala, black beans, chicken nilgiri korma, rice and goat curry. Naan was also complimentary but I asked for a switch to roti(wheat bread) instead. Initially one of the waiters said that I would have to order the $ 3.95 roti, but I talked to the manager and he happily made the switch. My favorite dishes were the mushroom saag and the tandoori chicken. The tandoori chicken was probably one of the best I’ve had so far; it was tender and juicy, much more pleasing to the palette than the chicken from the korma. The mushroom saag was also all kinds of amazing(especially consumed with the fresh roti), it was a nice change from the usual saag paneer. One thing to note: none of the dishes I tried were spicy so if you’re not much of a chilli eater, this place is for you. I passed on the dessert because the only Indian dessert I like is carrot halwa. I will definitely be back to Mirch Masala after I complete my Indian buffet tour around Connecticut. Yay!

We Unilocaled this restaurant on our way to take the ferry for Long Island from Connecticut. We called them and asked them to keep our order ready as we had only 20 minutes to eat food. They were very accommodating and kept everything ready. I loved the palak paneer and paneer chili was good too, although the kadai chicken wasn’t as great as we expected. The server was nice and understood that we were in a hurry, so she wrapped up our food really fast!

We ordered the lamb samosas, chicken tikka masala and chicken korma with naan. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, though I thought the tikka masala was a little too sweet for my taste(husband liked it just fine). We enjoyed all the leftovers, too, and we will almost certainly return!

Had the vindaloo curry and Naan bread. Absolutely delicious! Great service and intensely delicious food. Very happy guy.

Kind of a dismal feeling restaurant attached to a hotel. The interior is very dusty, and walls, doors, windows were all downright dirty. Not quite to the point where I wasn’t comfortable eating there but it definitely didn’t make an appetizing first impression. The service was very slow and I think it’s fair to describe it as somewhat ambivalent. On the positive side, they have a very well stocked bar and I’d say the food ranged from OK to actually pretty good. Both the plain and stuffed Naan were perfectly cooked and tasty. The chili paneer appetizer was spicy and good. Chicken Tikka Masala was not one of the better examples of the dish I’ve had. It was plenty spicy, but somehow at the same time not particularly flavorful. If you’re desperate for Indian food, this might satisfy the craving but if you’re up for a bit of a drive, I bet you can find better.

The food was good, but OMG the service was terrible. Awful, awful service — they seemed entirely disorganized and none of the staff seemed to have a clue what they were doing. It took us MORETHANANHOUR to finally get our food. It’s a shame the service is so bad, because the food is fairly solid.

I have been here numerous times. I have had many good meals in the past. I have had parties here. In fact I recently celebrated a milestone birthday party here. About a month-and-a-half ago my husband and I went here for dinner we’re seated properly and then forgotten about for at least 20 minutes we made eye contact with waiters who just passed us by and eventually we got up and left unserved. The next day I went back to a lunch buffet on a Saturday and the food was great. Today my husband and I went there for lunch on their website they say they close at 3 p.m. we arrived at 2:40 And Raj met us at the door saying you’re late you’re late we’re closed. To me that’s deception don’t advertise that you’re open till 3 and then send people away at 20 minutes prior to 3. 20 minutes would be enough time to serve ourselves enjoy our meal while they’re cleaning up the buffet. I don’t find that unreasonable. I am annoyed that the host would so demonstratively and loudly tell us that we’re late. We have been some of their best customers for the last 10 years. We have told countless people to enjoy a good meal there and we have introduced people to the cuisine at Mirch Masala. But enough is enough and I will never be back in this establishment and I will let people know that is all it is is about money and not really caring about the customer. I’m sad that it has to be this way.

Tremendous Indian food. I got the garlic naan which was phenomenal and ordered the curry chicken. I asked for it as hot as they could make it. To my delight they actually made it spicy, unlike some places who don’t think you can handle it. I’d recommend this to anyone and will be back!

Yummy in my Tummy! Every other Wednesday, we have Mirch Misala for lunch at Connecticut College, and boy am I happy that we do. For $ 6, we get naan bread, a vegetable dish, and a side of chicken in a different sauce. I crave Indian food and this place packs a punch!

I’m currently in the restaurant with my husband & friends. If in one word I have to describe the experience, I would say — Disastrous!!! Service is awful. The manager is rude. Food is distasteful. And when we tried to tell it to the manager, he replies this is how it is made. I mean … Seriously??? How about a sorry? Probably the fellow had a bad day but hey we are not eating for free!!! Warning — Do not order«Chilly Paneer» or «Samosa» Also… We had to mention the waiter to get the plates… oh yes they forgot to bring silvers with that! Utterly disappointed!

Ate here recently, had the chance to try a few things. As we ate everything family style. We had the lamb frog, lamb Madras, chicken tandoori, and garlic naan. Everything was pretty good, and they offer a variety of spiciness. Medium seemed appropriately medium, which meant just hot enough for me and not so hot that it burned off my girlfriend’s face. It would be interesting to try the very spicy, but I would definitely have to eat all of that myself, hahaha. Anyway, I’m not local. But you in the area fairly often. This will definitely be on my short list of places to visit again. … As a tip, while you may notice that the beer list doesn’t have much other than standard offerings, you might also notice that the price range is very minimal. So you might as well get something decent at the post of Bud Light. I wish the coffee drinks for either a little bit bigger, or a little bit stronger for the price.

Ordered delivery from them this evening for the first time, everything was great. Food arrived quickly, was piping hot and generously portioned. The person who took our order was very helpful and the delivery driver upbeat and friendly. Plenty left over for lunch tomorrow. Samosa’s are a must, my Wife loved the Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Chili Naan, I wasn’t feeling brave enough to try the Phaal, but the Vindaloo really hit the spot.

Pleasantly surprised to see an Indian restaurant in Groton, it is a welcome find in the midst of limited restaurant options in the area. I Come here for dinner a lot. I really like how they have a wide selection of menu items, and from different parts of the subcontinent. Their Spicy option IS Spicy, so be aware! Service may be slow on busy nights, but its usually when there are large groups or a day where everyone decides to show up.

Today’s buffet was absolutely fantastic with chicken, lamb and vegetarian dishes, numerous chutneys and sides, plus naan. Our biggest complaint on previous trips here was that the buffet food lacked any spice. We weren’t expecting fire-breathing hot, just something that registered at all. For today’s buffet everything was at least a strong mild, if not a true-medium for several dishes. Perhaps the best part was the price, at under twenty-two dollars for two(including tax but excluding tip), we walked away quite satisfied. My only remaining complaint is their hours. US Navy, Electric Boat and Pfizer are all big employers in the area and their lunch hours are typically eleven to twelve. Mirch Masala doesn’t even open until eleven-thirty most days, and noon on the weekends. That means by the time they open, it’s already time to head back to work for many of us.

I have been here more than 18 times. I have a problem. A healthy addiction to this place. Depending on how you look at it. This is the best place for Indian food in the area! They actually make my food spicy when I ask for the heat! The food is always full of flavor and there are many options for the vegan crowd. They are used to me asking questions about their vegetarian dishes and how they’re prepared. The vegetarian lunch box special to go is my favorite! Two vegetable dishes, rice, and naan(I request the popadom bread instead(vegan))…all for $ 5.80. Sooo cheap! They give so much food, so I always have left overs =) The staff are always friendly and attentive whether I am picking up food to go or dining there.

Had a great dinner one night here. So went back for lunch with co-workers expecting a menu. Turned out to be buffet only and very busy… But the food was a disaster and the staff pretty much non-existent for any service. Others seemed to be enjoying it, but they were young military or over 70… Goods news, go for dinner, but avoid the lunch buffet. Or perhaps if the restaurant reads this, offer the menu as well!

So let me first start off by saying this was mine and my boyfriends first time ever having Indian food. We were not anticipating success as Indian food is commonly associated with a host of unfortunate bowl and stomach issues. To bolster our fears, it does not help that this restaurant is inside a dinky Ramada Hotel. So combine our preconceived notions about Indian food with the restaurant’s location, we were less than hopeful. Well, let me tell you we stand utterly corrected 1.) Restaurant was clean and so nice inside 2.) Staff was attentive and kind. We were seated immediately, were served water right after being seated and our waiter took our order and cleared our plates in a fashion that didn’t make us feel rushed. Extra points to our waiter who highly suggested we get an appetizer because the food would take quite some time to cook(everything is cooked to order) 3.) the food was delicious. As it was our first time getting Indian food, we went with the most standard dishes: tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala. Both were really fantastic. All in all I was pleasantly surprised and we will be back and MIGHT be more adventurous with our choices
