I am very disappointed in the service I received. We were taken to our table and it took 15 minutes for anyone to just get our drinks. Then after we got our drinks we waited another 20 minutes for someone to take our order, which might I add was a completely different waiter. Then after we got our food and ate we were waiting another 20 minutes for the check. If you are any sort of schedule don’t even bother. The chicken in my chimichanga was extremely salty and I am not really one to be picky. I guess salty is a good word to express my experience at this restaurant.

We used to love coming here and probably would come once a month. The last few times I’ve come, the food has been less than mediocre and the whole family has ended up home and sick. The food is bland and not the right temperature and the service is painfully slow. Go back to what el vaquero used to be!

I think this is some really good Mexican food for the price. Definitely the best I’ve had in Grove City.

My coworker and I stopped in for lunch. Our server was quick with drinks, and didn’t leave us low on chips/salsa for long. The chips here are enormous, and arrived wonderfully warm. The salsa was pleasant but very mild, which we spiced up with some of the table’s hot sauce. I ordered an enchilada sampler type of dish. Their enchilada sauce is easily the best I’ve ever tasted. There’s no chance it came from a can. The restaurant was fairly quiet around 2 when we were there. The décor is interesting, and not at all overdone. Their menu is vast, with pricey and reasonable options. I’d like to return and sample more.

I used to love this place and considered myself a regular but the last few times I have gone there the food and service was not good. From the rice being crunchy and cold to the orders being wrong it was a huge dissapointment. It appears they have raised their prices as well. What used to be delicious food for a great value has turned into average food at best, for a cost that is too pricey for what you are getting. Whatever changes you have made please go back to what you were doing before as it was much better!

I went here for lunch and it was great! We ordered the zucchini tacos which were delicious and the broccoli slaw is on point. Salsa was good and chips were tasty! We also ordered the soup Aztec and it was wonderful. Everything seemed very fresh. Our waiter was very attentive and even brought me extra cilantro(my fav). Will be back

Fast and friendly service. Drink and food orders came out on time. Food was a little bit too salty. I would definitely go back for a drink evening!

I’m really not sure where to start. I mean it started with cold food, I asked for a chip refill and that never happened and then the check was wrong on the total. I prefer the one in Hilliard versus this location but neither are exceptional. I have been going to this restaurant since the Riverside location was the only one around and they are slowly spiraling out of control. This is fact… I will give this establishment one more chance and if they don’t impress me then I’ll seek refuge elsewhere. Mexican food is dime a dozen, for crying out loud I have ate at some stellar establishments and I don’t need to be treated poorly to continue on with this one.

Great chicken fajitas. Always seems fresh, chips and salsa are great and I would recommend the white queso. Customer service is usually very good, we have ordered to go last two times and they are great!

Big menu, solid food, and reasonable prices. The servers are nice but can disappear for stretches on busier weekend evenings where it also gets really loud. On my most recent visit I had the carnitas which were moist and tasty. The rice and beans it came with were what I expected. The serving size was plenty for me. My kids had pizza off the kids menu which was a terrible idea that I couldn’t talk them out of. As expected it wasn’t good — very under cooked with a soft crust and cheese that didn’t melt all the way. The wife enjoyed her chicken taco and flan. Our server was nice, but took a while to get our check and refills.

El vaquero used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Columbus, but here lately they have been turning out junk and the service is poor. The grove city location is especially bad but I haven’t been very happy with the other locations either. I think now that they have a big name they are skimping on quality and service.

We love el vaquero. However, this is the worst one in Columbus. They act like they do not give a crap. Walked in and the host just grabbed menus and started walking away without asking us to follow her. We sat down and there was no napkins or silverware at the table. Sever was a no show… I had to go to the hostess and tell her to get him for us. Poor poor poor service. The management needs to step up its game here. This is not the first time we have experienced this here. We choose to come back because it’s quick and the food is good and that’s the only reason.

What a disappointment! The other Columbus area locations turn out edible food… not so with the Grove City location. I sent my meal back uneaten because of the poor quality food and was not offered either a replacement meal or the option to have it taken off the check. The service was worse than the food. Hands down… the worst Mexican food ever!

I have always loved this place, however, since moving to the new location the food has gone downhill.

What does it say when every time we leave El Vaquero we wish we’d have gone to Fiesta Mariachi instead? We were hoping the move from Broadway to Stringtown Rd would have prompted some improvement but just not to be. Tonight the beans were barely warm, the rice was clumpy and flavorless, and my son’s quesadilla was only half filled with cheese. The beef in my daughter’s taco tasted like it was made with store-bought powder packet mix. And on top of it all, they’re more expensive. If you’re charging a premium price, you need to deliver a premium experience. We won’t be back.

What happened? We have loved El Vaquero for the 14+ years we’ve lived in Central Ohio. Dining there about once per month. Over the last six-ish months the menu has changed and the food quality has decreased significantly. This goes for all El V locations, not just GC. We go to Sawmill and also Riverside frequently too. Whatever was done, please undo it.

Love their fajitas! and margaritas! …actually, everything on their menu is really good! Can’t wait for the weather to get warmer, I’m looking forward to eating and drinking at their outside area.

Have you ever tried Camerones al Diablo? No? You need to, if you like spicy food. Camerones al Diablo has been my new food obsession for the past few weeks. Tell them you want«extra hot» and you’ll get some really great hot and spicy shrimp sauteed in a spicy chipotle sauce that will set your mouth on fire. The shrimp came with a little bit of lettuce and guacamole and a smallish portion of rice but no beans. I held back star for the smallish portions and meh service but I won’t hesitate coming back for more of those spicy shrimps. Oh yeah, make sure you get a margarita too. It’s an awesome drink!

This is an OK El Vaquero, nothing great, nothing terrible. Customer service was pretty lackluster, from getting seated, to being served, and even the after stuff like receiving the check. You just felt like the employees didn’t want to be there. And with that aura, and a pretty empty restaurant, it makes eating there kind of gloomy. Instead of enjoying your time and food, you feel like you should hurry and eat to go somewhere more lively. Beyond all of that though, everything else is fairly standard. Salsa and chips, all the standard el vaquero food and drinks, but this place just doesn’t have a good feel to it, and for a chain restaurant, you have to enjoy going there, or else you’ll lose interest in them all.

Spent $ 11.50 for chimichangas suprema, got two 3 inch chimichangas, 1 tablespoon of beans, and 2 tablespoons of rice. Would have gotten more for $ 2 at Taco Bell!!! WTF? Are beans and rice the same price as lobster now? And Mini Me chimmi’s with less meat in both than a Single White Castle hamburger, With Fiesta Marriachi just down the street, they should try a little harder.
