Still in the process of moving. Should have got some movers, but that’s what family and friends are for. Saw the big sign and decided to pick-up a dozen donuts to give us all a sugar lift. I don’t know if it was the lack of food in the new house, or if they really were that good, but they disappeared in less than 5 minutes.

They are one of the last few homemade donut places around. It’s a clean older store with a lot of charm. All of the workers I’ve seen there over many visits do a fantastic job and seem to love their job. Definitely a place everyone needs to go. And the prices are good.

They make fresh doughnuts. Try the lemon filled doughnut, it’s very good. They don’t have the best coffee but do have a nice selection of doughnuts and cookies.

Great donuts, great coffee, great service! What really makes this place stand out is that the donuts are done well and served with a smile. Plus everyone is friendly and the bar area is perfect for grabbing a cup of joe, a donut, and plopping down for some reading. It’s not loud, and not packed. The price is right and this place is definitely worth checking out. Plus their dozens are 13. Can’t beat a free donut.

I went around 9:30 p.m. so there wasn’t a huge selection. However, the donuts I did get were really good(not stale but not exactly fresh) and the woman at the counter was friendly and patient while I picked out what I wanted. I tried Tim Hortons a few days later and their donuts were not only more expensive but no where near as good.

Get there early, every time we get there after noon it seems like the doughnuts are dried out and somewhat stale. Better option than Tim Hortons any day.

Not impressed with the customer service at all! Young lady came across as totally bored and I was a bother because I didn’t know the products(I hadn’t been in for over 10 years)

I decided to stop by after having some blood work done at the lab down the street — had been a fasting test so I couldn’t wait to have a cup of coffee. I’d never been to a Jolly Pirate, but there were a lot of cars there I noticed on my way into Grove City. I’m really surprised at the strong reviews here. Maybe it’s a nostalgia thing? The coffee was barely hot and pretty bad. I got a Honey Dew donut. Stale, dry, and ultra-sweet. The two women working there seem frazzled(Noticed the sign said open 24 hours — hope those poor women had some relief coming in soon). They almost gave me someone else’s coffee. Prices were low, though. This area of Grove City looks older and kind of run down. Jolly Pirate fits into the whole ambiance well. We live just a few miles northwest, off Georgesville Road.

I MADEIT. I FINALLYMADEIT. I’ve been dreaming on coming to jolly pirate donuts since tourettes guy well if you don’t know the video, YouTube«Tourettes guy, jolly pirate donuts.» Anyways it was the last day of tour with War Of Ages and I had the chance to head on over. I used the bathroom and it was great. Not exactly two hours because quite the boring bathroom but still great.(Once again watch the video to understand what I am saying, trying to keep it PG ayy.) Anyways so I ordered some doughnuts and they were great. I think none of the workers were under 50 but they were hyped about working there. The donuts were delicious, the bathrooms were clean, the employees were nice and I’m stoked this new england kid finally got to make it.

I have been going to Jolly Pirate for over 20 years now. I remember when they where around the corner in their grove city location from where they are now. Have never had a bad doughnut or cup of coffee from here. about a year ago I moved to Florida and am going to be back to Ohio soon on vacation. Literally can’t wait to have a Jolly Pirate Doughnut. Hands down the best ones around.

The only doughnuts that’ll give buckeye doughnuts a challenge. I’d have to give it to Jolly for a better doughnut. Only down side is they took the two locations out on West Broad! The only one that I know of is in Grove City. It’s worth the drive!

Best donuts in Columbus! Always fresh, fast and friendly service. Not necessarily the fanciest, but certainly the tastiest!

Best donuts ever! I will pick Jolly Pirate over any other donut place out there. Also, rumor is if you go at 11pm, they change out the old donuts with fresh and you may be able to score some free ones!

This is THE Jolly Pirate. The staff is friendly, the donuts are super fresh, they do special flavors(hello JP’s version of the Buckeye Donut!) and it makes us sad that we don’t live anywhere near it. We always hit ‘em up when we drive across town for the farmers market in the summer. It doesn’t even chafe us that they’re the only location with no drive thru. We don’t mind getting off our butts to go inside. Oh man, I know where I’m going in the morning.

Oh, how I love donuts. And I love Pirates. And I love being jolly. What happens when you combine the three things? Sheer amazing. I discovered Jolly Pirate Donuts when I had originally moved to Columbus, just inside the outer belt on the outskirts of Grove City. What I liked about Grove City was the fact that it was out in the middle of nowhere, close enough to Downtown that I could get where I wanted to go in a hurry, but far enough away where I could find a little peace from the world. And working overnights for a TV station… let me tell you that it was sorely needed. The day my moving party left, we went to Jolly Pirate Donuts for a one-last get together to say goodbye. After all, what’s better than getting donuts from a place called Jolly Pirate? Seriously? You can’t miss driving past it – the sign looks like it hasn’t been updated since 1955, when it was first installed. The bright yellow lettering on the building also is a dead giveaway — they sell donuts here. Going back into the place was also an adventure — walking in made you think that the place hadn’t been upgraded since the mid-70’s. From the old-school pirate logo, to the wall decorum, and even the barrel-shaped stools to sit down, Jolly Pirate was definitely a welcome blast from the past. I enjoyed a chocolate-frosted French Crueller… and it was everything a French Crueller should be — very light, fluffy, and yet crisp on the outside. I paired it with a cup of their house-brewed coffee. It wasn’t anything fancy… and it didn’t have a fancy price attached to it, either. It was just good, plain, old-fashioned coffee. And it was well needed that morning, to be sure. To make my trip more interesting/enjoyable/However you want to call it, there was a collection of older folks there. I didn’t mind it – I found it interesting that they would lift their heads up as a way of greeting, before going back to minding their own business. Jolly Pirate is the only place that I will be getting donuts in the Columbus area, if given the choice. You can keep your other chains, this is the one that I like. Its locally owned and operated, and going there gives a certain joy that can’t be replaced. I’m a big fan of the Pirate, and plan on going back there before I go back to California for breakfast… and as a treat to my family at home, depraved of good donuts in their crazy West Coast lives.
