Nice place. I’d go more often, but I live further north. On trips down to Athens I stop here in Spring for hanging baskets and in fall for fall patio plants. Recommended.

You can always find thing there that you can’t find in other stores. Little pricey at times. Really like the dill dollars

I have to say that Dill’s has the best customer service, hands down. Not only do they come out every spring and pick up my large pots to plant, they come back in the fall to repot them. They have great people doing their pots because they come out beautiful every time. They also supply us with our annuals every year and we are always very pleased with the quality of the plants that they deliver. I have worked with both Kelly and Coleen for the past four years and they couldn’t be any nicer. Our family also always look forward to the fun haystack maze, hay rides, pumpkin sling shot, and animal petting every fall. We have tons of fun going there when we get our pumpkins and mums. Thanks Dills!

I have been shopping for my plants at Dill’s for years, and I would never go anywhere else. Not only is the quality of the plants top-notch, but the staff is incredibly knowledgable and can answer all of my questions. They have helped me create the most beautiful containers of flowers over the years, and one year, because of time constraints, I had them plant my containers for me, and they were magnificent. Each year I buy fourteen flats of annuals, two hanging baskets, and enough pots of flowers to fill seven huge containers. I also buy seeds, potted herbs, tomatoes, and other vegetables for my raised bed gardens, as well as perennials and shrubbery. I have never, ever had a problem. I love the fact that they plant almost all of what they sell from seeds or cuttings, and they take wonderful care of the plants that are there, removing anything damaged or diseased from the inventory. Every year I can’t wait until it is time to go to Dill’s and load up. I struggle to keep myself from buying too much — the nursery is so lush and beautiful with the colors and smells of spring and summer that I just want to move in! Dill’s is a treasure, and I can’t recommend it enough.

I feel a little bad to give Dill’s such a low rating. Im from the area and have been going there since I was a kid with my parents. When I went this past weekend, grant it is still a little early for annuals, I was not impressed by the quality or selection of the plants at all. I assume that the selection will become greater as we get closer to the«frost date» but I cannot say much about what might happen with the quality. They sell very few annuals in 2 to 6-cell packs and mostly have single annual plants in a round quart pot. The diameter of the pot is about 5 inches and the price is $ 5.00. Now, if the plant was amazing, a perennial, or in excellent condition I would consider purchasing it. The plants I saw this past weekend were none of those things. When I refer to quality or condition of plant I referring to the color, shape, and size of the plant. Not all but most of the plants, were not the right size for the size pot they were in. Some of the plants were scraggly and overgrown with elongated, etiolated stems, most likely because they were packed in so tight, and some were barely rooted into the media. Why do I want to pay $ 5.00 for a plant cutting that was just stuck into the media a few weeks ago? Many of the plants also had some pest and disease damage. A little bit is ok, but some of these plants had serious problems. There were a few dead plants and some that were bone dry and completely desiccated sitting on the bench. The shape of the plants was effected by how packed in they were. I guess it would be okay if the plants were packed tightly just for a few days to get more out for the customers, but it would appear as if most of the plants were grown this way. As an experienced grower I would be embarrassed to sell these plants and those prices. I walked in last weekend with a budget of a few hundred dollars to get some annuals a a couple perennials to plant my parent’s garden but after an hour I walked out without purchasing anything at all. It is unlikely that I will be returning to Dill’s and I will certainly inform my friends that there are other local options for purchasing high quality plants at reasonable prices. That being said, the full time staff was quite friendly but the season high school kids could care less about being there.
