Grand Deli

This place has really gone down hill since changing ownership. Service is slow, prices have increased, quality decreased… I have been coming here for years and have never had issues. We came in today and got a few sandwiches to go… 2 clubs (one of which had NO Bacon and the other had one piece), a BLT that only had THREE pieces of bacon on it (yes, only three), also it took forever for them to finish constructing the sandwiches… grabbing one item at a time, and only working on one sandwich at a time as a collective group of 4. Mind you it was only 1:20pm on a Saturday and we were the ONLY people in there! This place used to be packed at that time. I’m just so disappointed. I have never written a review like this in my life, but this place needs to make some changes… This will probably be the last time I come back here.

Great bread and friendly family owned business vibe. I travel for work and my mouth waters when I get to go to arroyo grande because I get to eat here.

I’m really sad because I went here all the time for egg salad sandwiches, but they are no longer offering. It’s actually hard to find a place on the central coast that does a good egg salad. I’m not rating based on the employees. They’ve all been very nice. Just sad they are doing away with a sandwich I’ve heard the employees comment on «being very popular here.» I don’t eat meat and I make better veggie sandwiches than anywhere I’ve found, so this is really disappointing news guys.

This deli is fantasical. Food is amazing. Just super fresh and delicious. You guys should stay open til 7 so I can get on the weekday lol. Awesome spot of locals and the tourists.

Really good hot pastrami sandwich! Fresh ingredients and filling. Staff is friendly and overall very clean facility with an easy to use payment station. Kailey is very friendly and helpful.

I just had one of the best sandwiches ever! For the same price you would pay for a jersey mikes sub you get way more sandwich and lots of options. mine was loaded with meat and toasted cheese on both sides of the bread… This is an example of what a local sandwich joint should be … I will be returning.

I’ve never had to write a negative review until now when I went into grand deli for the first time in two years. The guy said they had new ownership which was fine but when my sister and I went in we expected it to be similar they didn’t explain the sizes of sandwhichs very well so we didn’t really know what to expect they use to have three sizes now they only have one huge one and a small size. So when I order the full sandwhich I noticed it was going to be way to big for me and said if I could get a small one he didn’t seem to want to waste the other half and insisted on me to get it so I told my sister to use the other half. Then my sister wanted hers toasted and the guy told her it was to late too I didn’t know there was a time limit. I didn’t feel very welcome there especially since it was our first experience of the new ownership I’ve lived in this town my whole life and was very disappointed by this I liked when you could write your own sandwhich down on a paper. Instead of dealing with the confusion of telling him what you want.

Traveling up the coast, searching for a good sandwich. Found this place on Unilocal.They were just about to close yet still made my sandwich with a smile. By far the best Italian sandwich I’ve ever had!

This place is awesome. I ordered the Grand full size with the works. That thing was freaking huge. I could only eat half. It was served on what I have to say is fresh baked bread. Just thinking about it is making my mouth water. The staff asked my name once for my order and after that addressed me every time by my first name. Great fresh sandwich and great friendly staff. I will be going here at least once a week now.

My husband and I went down to Grand Deli today and we were not disappointed. They have 4 different size sandwiches small (4 inch), regular (6 inch), large (10 inch) and extra large (24 inch). Also you have the choice of wheat or white bread which are both very fresh and delicious. You get to choose from a list of sandwiches or you can just create your own. My husband and I split a large wheat Italian sub combo (which includes a soft drink soda and a bag of chips) and split a large cookie which came out to about 15 dollars. Which is such a good deal to support a local business! We will definitely be coming back to Grand Deli!

Use to love this place, but since new ownership the last 2 out 3 times they’ve messed up on our sandwiches. None of the employees are very friendly either. Really miss the old grand deli.

Bigger pieces of bread is not always better. Sandwich did not have much taste either :(
Styrofoam cups… really?

Well if they served me then I would be able to give a review, but their sign says they close at five and I was there at 4:45 and they were already closing everything up and said «sorry but everything is closed up». Why does your sign say 5pm if that’s not true? So this is your review till the next time I decide to give this place a try. I’m not swearing off this place but I am discouraged to come back and try it soon. Keep you posted.

Wow. Great service, the owner reached out to me and replied to me in regards to my bad experience, and I was very impressed. I am giving this place 4 stars now from this move alone on their part. I will try this place soon and let you know how their sandwiches are. They look amazing. Great business ethics guys. I appreciate it.

Bad atmosphere, even worse sandwiches.

Best place to get a sandwich in town. My opinion of course. Everyone has their own. They really kicked it up, with homemade coleslaw & potato salad. Staff is really friendly, food is great! Can’t complain, one bit. They even have Sports Center on the TVs while you wait, or eat. Check me out. Only if they served beer!

This place is so delicious! We’ve been wanting to try the Grand Deli for a while and it did not disappoint! I felt like it was so clean and the atmosphere is relaxing and chill. Received the best service from the owner herself. I got a wrap and my husband tried the pastrami sandwich and pasta salad. We said we would like to make this our new spot to eat regularly.

I love this sandwich shop. I’m never disappointed and the staff is amazing. The sandwich is made how you like it and the ingredients are placed between delicious homemade bread. Be sure to look at the daily specials and sides. Mac-​n-​cheese is starting to show up but needs more request to be on the menu daily, so start requesting and spread the word. Grand deli I love you.

Went here from Unilocal reviews as we are from out of town. Place was just okay. Fresh bread similar to Subway. Sandwiches are generous so We shared and had leftovers.

You can smell the bread from a block away, and you know if what’s between the bread is ¹⁄₁₀ as good as the smell wafting through the 1100 block of Grand st, you’re about to be in for a treat.
I always get the roast beef French dip with Swiss cheese. I am always stoked on the friendly service, and love the sando I receive. There’s never been one instance I’ve had a bad experience, which is probably why parking is like a game of car roulette.

Great stop! Another order to go Nd head to the beach for a great sandwich, watch the waves and everybody leaving Huckfest.
The hot pastrami was excellent and huge! Be hungry if you order the ft long
