This review is for the bakery; i give 1 star because i went in to get a cake made for my boyfriend’s daughter who was turning 9, and i requested they put a picture of the group One Direction on it. The lady said they cannot do it because of copyright issues. She says if One Direction were to find out they used their pic on a cake without permission they could get in trouble. What a joke! Went a few miles away to Arroyo Grande Bakery and they made the cake with the pic of One Direction on it with no problem at all! The cake turned out more beautiful than i could have ever imagined and i will be doing all my future baking needs at Arroyo Grande Bakery :)

The worst grocery store ever. Every part of the store is crowded. The entrance is hard to get in and out of. It almost impossible to get through the aisle around the cash registers. The produce is poor sometimes rotten. The meat is hit and miss mostly miss. And everything else is so mixed up it is hard to find. Either Von’s is trying to confuse everyone or they are retarded nothing is where it should be. Checking out is a nightmare. After waiting in line for ever and trying to stay out of everyone else way you have to deal with the baggers. They seem to get an attitude when you complain about them putting raw meat on top of the produce. I have been to other parts of the country that had grocery stores with little to no competition and they were never this bad.

My go to grocery store. They have really great sales. Most of the staff is very friendly. The store is very clean. I recently ordered a cake from the bakery for my boyfriends birthday and the young lady that helped me was great! Very helpful! I also enjoy the breakfast burritos from the deli!

My husband went in and so this is his review… A lot of local beers but not friendly or helpful at all. Did not have what he was looking for(See Canyon Hard Cider) clean & typical of your liquor store atmosphere. Fire wood is $ 1.00 less than Pismo Coast Village.

My fiancé and I shop in Vons almost every day-we are currently between homes and having to stay at a hotel, so we have little room for storing or preparing food. We stop by each evening to get what we need for snacks or dinner. Always a pleasant experience, the store is immaculate, employees are friendly and helpful and the produce is fresh and reasonable. We even got to try some new variety of apples due to the helpfulness of Cody in the produce department. The cashiers always interact with smiles and light conversation, considerate of our waiting time and patient with us fumbling around in our pockets for correct change. Always a pleasure to shop the Grover Beach Vons!

As a chronic pain patient my treatment at pharmacies can be very hit or miss. I often stick with a local mom n pop pharmacy due to previous harsh treatment at chain store pharmacies(though they often do not have large stock of medication). I felt it important to come right home and review the Vons pharmacy and say thank you to the pharmacist, Joshua(I believe that was his name. I read his name tag from across the counter so I’m not 100%) on that. There is some confusion with a current medication I was on vs an old one my body works best with. Long story short I’ve filled other meds this month that I cannot take so my doc prescribed me ones that are not as strong. I’m sure this looks odd to a pharmacist. Joshua was thorough in asking why I’d be prescribed new meds right now yet he took the time to listen to me, truly hear me out and filled my new rx. I don’t know what I would’ve done had he not as I simply cannot take the other meds. So not only do I appreciate a thorough pharmacist who’s best interest is to protect all parties involved but I appreciate that he took the time to hear me out. Thank you, Vons AG for hiring thorough and caring pharmacists!

low-life, uneducational people working there. I spend way too much money there every month to get this terrible service when I call on the phone. I’ll take my businesss elsewhere from now on.

I love the hot food here and as I was waiting in line I watched an employee at approximately 7:27pm drop an old woman’s fried chicken leg on the counter where money was and then bag it anyways. She second guessed herself as She did it but did it anyways. I thought it was plain unsanitary … She let her take off with the bag and everything… Her name is Teresa for the managers

The other major supermarket in the area was taken over by that expensive place so I have to drive to San Luis Obispo to do most of my supermarket shopping. Out of necessity I’ve been coming to Vons a bit more than I used to for the deals, but I read over my previous review and find it still stands. I still have to look carefully at who is at the register in order to avoid an unpleasant experience. My family and I avoid the bakery after bad customer service there. We avoid the deli(same problem) unless it’s something quick like a breakfast wrap. We shop very early in the morning to avoid the clientele and to have a chance at accessing the milk and eggs in their crowded unlabeled corner. Any chance the expensive place across town is on its way out and we’ll get a decent inexpensive supermarket in its place? I sure hope so because recently I’ve been seeing much more of Vons than I’m comfortable with. My new list of grievances starts: the other day when I was there I asked a young woman stocking items in the refrigerated deli section, «Do you know where this smoked salmon is that you have on sale? It says deli pack.» She said, «Uuuummmmm, in the deli.» Oh Vons, thank you so much for another excellent customer service experience.

Along with Trader Joe’s, this is my go-to store for getting groceries. At first, I thought that the prices were a little high, but once I started using their online app(and they mail me coupons too!), it helped A LOT. I’m seriously in love their produce — never bought anything that hasn’t been perfectly fresh and lasted a long time. In fact, I’m eating the most amazing Vons watermelon right now. I also love their selection of vegetarian frozen items. The staff is not overly friendly, but I typically don’t need much help, so I’m okay with that.

Closest Starbucks location to the Oceano Dunes Camp Site. It takes about 15 minutes from camp to the store. That’s super cool about camping at Pismo not like Glamis. You can slip out for restaurants and grocery stores while on your trip. Makes for less packing. Vons has everything including hot deli food to go. I’d be up early and back to camp with coffee from Starbucks and fresh donuts and muffins from the bakery.

I am a local and this is not my primary food mart. But I do use this store for quickies. Three days ago I went in to buy a case of wine for a birthday present and was told they were out of stock. But the nice stock boy took my name and number and said they would have a shipment in the same day, but they didn’t. It actually took 2 more days to pick it up with the help of a very kind assistant store manager named Gary. He even called me to say they only had 11 bottles but said he would have an employee pick up #12 at another store on their way to work. Now I call that above and beyond the call of duty! Thank you so much Gary! And Cheryl in customer service very quickly had me checked out and on my way in no time. Your a very sweet lady Cheryl, I thank you too dear lady.

My visit was not pleasant. Yesterday I had made a purchase. Here in town to ride ATV’s. As we were leaving the store three employees were looking at my boyfriend as if he has stolen something. He had baby wipes in the back of his pocket. It was a tall chubby guy who works in the customer service, a blonde older lady at the self check stand, black hair older lady in the florist dept. We were sitting in our car and the tall chubby guy came out Von’s to write down our license plate. We asked him if he needed help with something and he said no. We went back in the store to speak to the manager, Gary. Explained to him what had happened. He was very apologetic. If you’re going to accuse of someone stealing you say something right then and there. You don’t go outside and act as if you are security. The tall chubby guy could of put himself in danger because now a days people carry guns. I just couldn’t believe that has happened. What I should of done was to confront those three employees if they have a problem! I should of had Gary have his employees apologize to us instead of him apologizing on their behalf.

I’ve been shopping here since 2008, usually such a nice staff, very clean and welcoming. I called customer service over the phone tonight… I was just there! I was un-bagging at home, and I noticed I was missing an item. The bagger didn’t put the item in my bag(my personal bag) that I had paid for, and that is clearly on my receipt. Which, hey, it happens! :) & we are human… plus the bagging staff is so nice… but when I called customer service to let them know– the gentleman over the phone said he was too busy and to call back later… as I’m making dinner. I asked him to «please call me back» when«he is not busy» respectfully. He declined, along with a huge sigh then«call back later,» I then said«I will never shop here again, this is terrible customer service– is there a manager I can speak with?» Then«CLICK.» I’m so disappointed. I loved shopping here, but as local I was treated awfully over the phone. I wish this wouldn’t have happened… I spend hundreds here each month for my family. I called at 8:24 pm on 6÷9÷15

You need to bring your own bag in this county prices are reasonable long lines due to a tourist town as a good meat section produce is fine clean store but it does have panhandler sitting outside

This review is specifically for Ty in the Deli. Ty has the best personality. She is always happy and engages the customer in a really positive way. She’s also quick to do her job and does it with care — proving that a person can be a real superstar — even when making a sandwich.

I only shop here when I need that one thing the reasons I don’t shop here for everything is because the prices are so high, it’s hard to find anything in the store, the bakery usually is well stocked with stuff that is what the 2 stars are for. The meat department has nothing I would take home and cook. The produce is okay compared to walmart :-/the staff hate their job you can clearly see that.

I come in here a few times a year when I visit my in-laws. It’s a great spot, although Im used to Safeway as I live in the Bay Area. large store, great meat department, great wine selection. They have a dry-cleaning service there which I have never seen in a grocery store, so good for them. Other than that, its the usual. Starbucks, Jamba Juice, the whole bit.

Everything here is stupidly expensive — I’m particularly referring to the deli and prepared foods section, where a rotisserie chicken is $ 9. You’ve got to be kidding me — that’s as much as Whole Foods in the Bay Area! A stale, old sushi roll is over $ 6. I can get a cheaper Cali Roll at a literal Japanese restaurant. I’m okay paying more for convenience, but not when it comes with a huge lapse in quality. This Vons is a joke. Buy your take-out elsewhere. :-P
