Wow, this place is still here?!? I bought my very first CD ever – Sting’s Nothing Like the Sun – at Merle’s Record Rack. The last time I was in Merle’s, CDs still came in those long cardboard boxes and iPods were just a faraway twinkle in Steve Jobs’ eye. Props for the independents staying in business with the digital music revolution and all.
Four stars because I remember this store once special ordered a Sugarcubes cd for me (hooray for customer service!) and they were selling used CDs in the ‘burbs long before it was cool to do so. Used to have to go to Cutler’s in New Haven for that. Speaking of which – is that place still around?
