My husband and I weren’t too crazy about our meals(shrimp poboy and the bahama bob burger) but it will do if you’re hungry. Our server was pretty great though. They were fairly busy but she still kept up on our drinks, was friendly, and the food came out pretty quickly.

This is a good, solid 3-star place. Mostly fried food, which is tasty but without a lot of nuance.

My family and I went to Bahama Bob’s based solely on the reviews on Unilocal and unfortunately, we were really disappointed. Although the service was friendly, it couldn’t make up for the lousy food. Overdone burgers, limp fries, sugary coconut shrimp; it seems that between all of us, only one had a decent entrée: a Mahi sandwich. Lots to choose from on the menu, although quite pricey for the quality and atmosphere. Too bad! That was a bust.

Loved it! The fried fish was so good! The fried okra had a light coating and wasn’t over cooked. Didn’t like the hushpuppies. Small place but great food and great service!

Definitely worth a visit! The menu offers just enough choices to keep everyone happy without confusing you. Our server, Jonathan was laid back and accommodating. He answered our questions and offered good choices. I think Bahama Bob should give him a raise… Just saying… Try the alligator bites, the sauce is amazing! We also had gumbo, steamed shrimp and blackened scallops, everything was delicious! We would come back, but since we have to drive back to Ohio tomorrow, it will have to wait till next year.

Grabbed a Bahama bobs burger to go, and wasn’t disappointed. Jumping place and the food was great too.

My wife and i were having a good time at this establishment, as we were about to leave, a three hundred pound man threatens my wife and I. I spoke to him and he then moved aggressively toward us. I am a pistol permit holder in the state of Alabama. I drew my gun and told him to back off. The manager of this establishment decided that it was OK to be threatened in their restaurant and barred me and gave a trespassing warning to me and my wife. Guess what, I wouldn’t feel safe bringing family to this place.

Had my grandsons visiting from out of town and after playing on the beach we were starved. Had alligator bites, crawfish, kid’s menu shrimp and sandwiches. Everything was very good and no one left hungry.

We came here the day after Hangout Fest last year, and kicked ourselves for not finding out about it sooner. Diner-esque atmosphere, but food and drinks were both great. Even thought the place was packed, the service was fast and friendly. We’ll definitely be back next year!

Eating here on my trip to the gulf shores was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The food was spectacular and satisfied my seafood craving. Appetizers: We started with the shrimp salad based on reviews and it was larger than I expected but tasty. The fried crawfish appetizer came with a unique and delicious dipping sauce that had a nice kick to it. Main Entrée: We split the seafood combo that came with crab legs and 1 lb. red shrimp. The crab was some of the best I’ve had and we finished the whole entrée like a couple of savages. Drinks: I got the bahama mama cocktail which was good. The menu was extensive and the service was fast on Saturday night. This is a must try if you are in the area. Great seafood!!!

Been here before for seafood and was good. But asked a friend for a recommendation for a REALLY good burger and she recommended this place. She hasn’t been wrong yet on other recommendations in the Gulf Shores area so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed, and I WASN’T! Went w/Bahama Bob’s burger, just how it comes w/pineapple and all, which I am note usually a fan of other than just fresh, no Pineapple cakes for me or otherwise… Best burger hands down I have ever had, and weird thing is I never really tasted the grilled pineapple on it, though I saw it on the burger! Best fries too! And we had Tempe fried crab claws… Again, best I have had in the area, Cooked to perfection too! Will definitely go no where else when we want. Great burger!!! We now know where to go in Gulf Shores for that!

Home made beef stew was very good. I asked for bread to go with instead of the crackers. Was told they didn’t have bread. Then I was offered biscuits which were a nice pairing. I asked how they make po boy sandwiches with no bread and was told, «we have that kind of bread.» Too funny. Seems like a friendly enough place. I had no drinks but noticed a full bar and a light beer-flavored water selection.

You can’t beat a meal and a view of the ocean. The highlights include some fantastic coconut shrimp, the cheese burgers are incredible, and the Margarita’s are stiff — tasty — and a perfect compliment to a bunch of fried food. You might want to drink two or three of those margarita’s just to be sure you feel comfortable in a bathing suit after ingesting a few thousand calories.

I really wanted to like this place, but it was definitely the low point of my trip to Gulf Shores. When we arrived, there was a 45 minute wait, usually a sign the food is going to be good. We were finally seated and it took about 5 minutes before we were greeted by our waitress. Not a good start. At this point, they weren’t very busy. She was sweet, but not very concerned with our service. Our appetizers, gator bites and cheese sticks, were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Food took forever to arrive, but that is the norm in a busy tourist destination; not a huge concern. The Mahi Mahi arrived to the table cold. It was pretty gross, but I was starving, so I ate it anyway. The rest of my party’s food was fine, but again, nothing to brag about. We didn’t see the waitress for over 20 minutes, even though I could see her in the bar talking to other staff members. All of our drinks were empty, and we had to ask another waiter for water. She never even realized what was going on. Our bill was incorrect and we had to have it adjusted twice. Overall, a disaster. We ate at the Flying Harpoon 2 days earlier for lunch and it was awesome! Much better than this place. Buyer beware.

Very disappointed in this place. We wanted take out for our group of eleven. When we called in the morning, no one said that take out is limited to two items per order. Later when we wanted to order we were informed of this. For crying out loud if you say you do take out then do take out. In Gulf Shores there are very few places for large parties and take out is a great option. So disappointed in this place, cause the food might have been good.

I called trying to place an order for pick up. I was told they were on an hour and half wait and they don’t do take out while on a wait. I find this to be a bit ridiculous. I calmly said said I don’t understand why that that matters and was promptly called, and I quote, «you’re a f****** A******» I guess they are allergic to money. I will never give this place my money and will tell everyone I know visiting the area to steer clear. Note: as a chef/restaurantuer, I would never treat a potential customer in this manner.

Pros and cons. Pros — food was good! Shrimp salad po boy was pretty tasty, family enjoyed crab legs that contained a good amount of meat, and the scallops were good. The fried crawfish appetizer was really, really tasty also. They bring you ranch, a spicy sauce and a vinaigrette. I mixed all three and made a very delicious sauce. Cons — a bit more pricey than it should be, but not insane. Also the place isn’t huge, so go early in the afternoon. Enjoy!

I went to meet a couple of friends who were enjoying a day on the beach. I was lucky to get the last spot; the beach access parking was full too. The staff were friendly and we were seated outside. There was a nice sea breeze on the patio. We ordered our Hurricanes & coconut shrimp and enjoyed the beach view. Loved that we can go to the beach and then pile in there for a snack & cocktail. Personally I’ve had better Hurricanes and coconut shrimp at lower prices but it’s beachfront dining and there’s a cost to its great location!

This was our first visit to Bahama Bobs but not our last. With the help of their online menu we knew exactly what we wanted before our arrival. Their signature burger is the best on the beach. The pineapple… why didn’t I think of that? Onion rings were big and tasty. The gumbo was a healthy serving and tasted like it came right down I-10 from The Big Easy. Small quaint atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Too windy for outside today so we enjoyed this great meal indoors.

Bahama Bob’s has been a favorite of ours for a few years now. We make a point to go eat here every time we visit the Gulf Shores area. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had from there, especially the crawfish po boy and today, the bacon cheeseburger. Their fries are especially good, and I also love the alligator bites. We really enjoy the atmosphere of getting to enjoy your meal beach side and the overall laid back atmosphere. My wife particularly loves their margaritas. Definitely worth checking out when you’re in the area.
