Great food, great service. We will be back for sure. Got the catfish special and it was so thoughtfully constructed. The portions were huge and everything was delicious. Can’t beat the gulf view either!

Spinnaker’s is a good choice for a casual night out with decent food, nice view, and reasonable prices. A few different places have tried to make a go of this prime location in Gulfport over the last few years, but none have hit their stride. The Mrs and I decided to give the new iteration a try on a recent lazy Weds evening, and are glad we did. Spinnaker’s has a very nice open-air upstairs patio with several tables and large bar which offers a great view of Boca Ciega Bay and Gulfport. It’s almost one of those idyllic Florida dining views complete with sailboats and sunsets that you might post on Facebook if you are trying to make your Northern friends a little jealous. We were pleasantly surprised by the service. The server was quick and efficient, and throughout our meal we didn’t wait long for anything we asked for. Timing was good, and we weren’t rushed at all. Good service certainly adds to the experience, and this was just right. We lucked out and happened to arrive on half-priced wine night. We ordered a bottle and the classed it up with a basket of pickle chips. They were ok, but one minor complaint is that fish and non fish items should be fried in different oil… The pickles definitely had a bit of a fishy undertone. The rest of our food was passably good and nicely presented. I got the fish and chips while the Mrs went with the grilled Mahi. Neither was to die for, but the food was hot and tasty, and really as good as you can expect for entrees in the 12 to 15 dollar range. Because of the wine deal, our total bill for an app, bottle of wine, and two entrees was only in the $ 50 range, very fair considering the atmosphere and reasonable quality of food. This isn’t fine dining, but it is a good mid-level experience with a lovely outdoor environment, good service, and decent food. I’d definitely recommend it for a casual Florida beachside experience.

My dinner companion and I were very hesitant about coming here, since we really did NOT like it at all when it was Beach Haus and we gave it 3 separate visits. Anyway, it was a picture perfect night and we just adore the view from the outdoor bar upstairs, so we took a chance. It was fairly crowded for a Tuesday night, but we found out it was trivia night and most patrons were there for trivia. That being said, we observed that every table had food and beverages, so I would think that people come back not only for trivia but for the restaurant itself. A good sign. Maybe this corner location that has been reincarnated more times than I can count is not cursed after all. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and took our drink orders right away. I opted for one of their«Old St. Pete» cocktails. It was called the Nugent. Basically a vodka, soda with lemon, but it was heavy on the vodka, fresh lemon squeezed in the glass and just a splash of club soda. My companion just got a vodka, club soda with lime. Mine was noticeably stronger, as you would expect it to be. It was very refreshing though. The bartender asked if we would like menus and we said yes, he immediately placed menus, napkins and silverware in front of us and said he would give us a minute. I reviewed the menu and was sad to see that they only had chicken or beef tacos. I really wanted a fish taco, but I opted for the blackened grouper sandwich with fries. My companion got the bacon wrapped scallops, but asked for no bacon. He said if it wasn’t possible that was okay. While we were enjoying our cocktails and the view, I noticed the gentleman seated next to me got the calimari. I was considering ordering it but I had just had the worse calimari I ever had at Caddy’s the week before, so I didn’t want to risk it. The man told the bartender to forget about bringing marinara sauce. I asked what he thought of the calimari and he said they were amazing. Jalapenos, citrus and light breading — he said they were so flavorful they didn’t need any dipping sauce. Our meals came out shortly after that and my grouper sandwich was perfect. Tender, flaky and fresh. Blackened to perfection and a very generous piece of fish, especially for the price($ 12, including fries). The fries were served in a very cute mini fry basket lined with paper. It was a nice presentation and the meal was delicious. My companions scallops were somewhat bland, but that really wasn’t the restaurants fault, since he ordered an entrée that is very dependent on the bacon without the bacon. However, they were not terrible just not seasoned in any way. His vegetables and rice were good. The only downside was that we found out from the trivia guy that it was Taco Tuesday and that they not only had the chicken or beef tacos, you could also get fish or shrimp tacos. BUMMER — no signage, nothing on the menu and the bartender never mentioned it. If you have Taco Tuesday, let someone know about it — I mean come on people! Overall though this is going to be our summer hang out. Nothing like ending a jungle hot summer evening like sitting on a rooftop bar, listening to a band, sipping cocktails and enjoying some reasonably priced and very tasty food! Count us in Spinnakers.

The owners really did themselves a disservice by keeping the same Unilocal page as the previous restaurant«Beach Haus».(Though they are the same owners) The negative reviews are a real drawback to people who aren’t local and are just skimming through and reading them. Heck, even locals might not be aware that they are reading reviews for two very different restaurants. Unwise in the internet age… I suggest a reboot! Spinnakers has vastly improved on the Beach Haus’ shortcomings. We had great service and food(burger, fries, tuna burger, mac n cheese). Everything was really good. The upstairs bar has the best view of any restaurant in Gulfport hands down. Some negatives — the tiny«cutting boards» they use instead of plates for some meals, nice gimmick for presentation but totally non functional and they resulted in *lots* of food mess spilled all over the table. Service was a tad bit ‘off’, and it always worries me when a waitress doesn’t write down an order. ‘No written order’ always equals mistakes on delivery, and this was the case on our visit. There’s no shame in writing down a 3 person order with lots of substitutions and other simple requests. I’m still going with a five star review to offset some of the previous Bach Haus reviews, but otherwise I’d drop a 4-star review without hesitation.

Sat on the rooftop patio with live music for family lunch. Had the London’s Calling and it was pretty good. Tried my family’s sandwiches and was floored. So delicious! The blackened grouper sandwich and ocean chicken burger were AMAZING!

Oh, Gulfport. I love you so much, but we just can’t get this corner restaurant right. We came to check this place out(a lot of the pictures on Unilocal are from the former Beach Haus that closed after a short stint.) We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and sliders, getting one of each slider(shredded chicken, sirloin, and and pulled pork). The spinach and artichoke dip is described as hot on the menu. After about thirty minutes our order came out. In the meantime, the bartender was running up and down the stairs, from behind the bar to the front of the patio, seeming to be all over the place. The spinach and artichoke dip is stated as hot but came out chilled, with no evidence of artichoke. It looked and tasted like pesto. I mean, exactly like pesto. Like, I wanted to pour it over noodles. I told the bartender/server that it said it was cold. He said«yeah I don’t know why is still says that. It’s cold. Cause when you heat it up… the cheese… but it’s served cold.» And that was it. The sliders were barely passable. The shredded chicken was SO dry it was hard to chew, and there was nothing on the bun but chicken. The pulled pork was just fine but really underserved as you can see in the picture. The sirloin was just this tiny thin little well done burger with seemingly no seasoning or taste. No cheese, no condiments, just a piece of charred meat. Our server asked how everything was and I said«not great, the burger is just a patty and nothing else, the spinach and artichoke dip is basically pesto, and it takes like that.» An awkward silence fell when he offered nothing to make up for it so I just asked for ketchup. He got it for me. Said nothing else and charged us for everything despite the fact that I plainly stated I wasn’t enjoying the food. Plus, we saw them make a Bloody Mary: vodka + zingers + lime wedge. Spare yourself and order a beer. Maybe their other food is good. We hated this place was it was Beach Haus — the seafood bucket had us puking for a day. The receipt still says beach Haus so maybe they thought they could dodge their reputation by changing the name. Come here for beers by the water and nothing more.

This restaurant recently changed hands; now it is a delicious seafood place, not German food. We arrived early on a very stormy night, so I wasn’t surprised that the place was empty. Our waiter was very attentive and accommodating. Three of us shared two entrées which were very substantial. The fresh tuna steak was cooked rare and to perfection… three very large chunks. Served with fresh steamed vegetables and the waiter brought us wasabi and soy sauce which made it perfect. The grilled grouper sandwich was also very fresh and cooked to perfection. Delicious. we ended our meal with delicious Keylime pie. Prices were very reasonable and to make it even better we used a Groupon. I hope to return and eat in their beautiful second floor open terrace overlooking the beach.

The BEST steamed peel & eat shrimp I’ve found in a Florida restaurant! For the price and the jumbo, cooked to perfection quality, this app blew me away. The grouper nuggets also won me over, and the Monday special for 50cent wings had my beau’s heart — crispy and well cooked. This place is entirely underrated as far as I’m concerned! Great local craft beer menu and atmosphere.

I have spent thousands of $ 2 ½ years here. No more! I am a veteran… today my local hangouts all showed appreciation. Omaddys amd Saltys gave a free drink and said«thank you for your service». Shelby at O maddys was especially nice! Not Beach Hause… they put up a fuss and finally said, «buy 2 beers and we will give you one». I do not need this kind of drama. I had enough drama serving our country during hostile times. If I would have known Beach Haus was going to be this argumentative and outright cheap toward a veteran, I would have not visited there today! My advice is to stay away from a cheap tightwad place like this that has little to zero respect for military veterans!!!

Ok, it’s been a long while since I’ve given any establishment a 5 star rating but this place totally deserves it! I often go out to eat with a friend who requires a 100% Gluten free menu and we were both impressed with the servers knowledge(her name’s Alice) of gluten free options. We had such a great experience that we came back the next two nights in a row! I recommend this restaurant and their weekly specials. So happy with my experience. I’ll definitely be back!

A group of three decided to venture out into the Gulfport area and we really liked the view we had when we saw this place. So we chose to try it out. The food was actually pretty good, which is a surprise since I feel like most beach bars all have the same tasting food. I think the cooks put a bit more effort and made it with some distinctive flavors. My biggest and Only issue with this place was the service. I can’t tell you what her name is since I doubt she introduced herself but I saw she had an Ohm tattoo on her neck. I didn’t look into it much since we were enjoying the company we had but the problem came when the check reached the table… She charged a total of 10 Mai Tai at $ 8.50 a piece and an additional $ 6 for some extra drink. This struck me as odd since I specifically remember the drink was $ 7. So I grabbed a menu to be sure… I was right… when I confronted her she said she made the drinks with extra liqueur. I told her I didn’t ask for that at all, and why would I be charged an extra $ 1.50 plus a $ 6 extra drink charge?!? There was only one person at this table that asked for an additional shot in his because they didn’t taste like much, and that was only for 1 drink. I typically have no problem confronting a situation, especially when I feel like I’m being taken advantage of but my party feels embarrassed and he made me drop the conversation. I suppose some people don’t mind being ripped off… well I don’t! And this situation has bothered me since then(3 days). So the total bill was $ 122… we gave her $ 150 cash. Do you think we saw her again? NOPE. We never told her to keep the change, she sure as heck didn’t show her face again! Actually she avoided all eye contact. My assumption was that she knew she overcharged us and in order to secure a good tip she just walked away with all the money. NOTCOOLLADY! You just made an really bad representation for the place you work and I wouldn’t feel comfortable introducing people to this place. This was my experience, and my suggestion if you dare try this place. Stay away from that waitress and watch your bill!

We drove a long distance only to find a note on their door. Before going to Beach Haus, check them out as they are closed without notifying adds in Groupon. And they apparently plan to open eventually as a sea food restaurant.

This place used to be so good and always full of people. Very good German food! Well, now they’re phasing out the German food and are becoming just another seafood restaurant. The food that they did have, was less than mediocre. The cucumber salad had no taste. The place was completely empty. The upstairs with the nice view was ruined for us because there was a very loud TV showing football so the ambience was like being in a loud sportsbar. I was so disappointed my fave German restaurant has disappeared. Needless to say, won’t be going back there…

I’m not sure what to say about this place. Beach Haus should overwhelm me with amazing German options. It didn’t. It was empty during a Friday afternoon lunch and I see why. Options for lunch were ok but where’s the German dishes, pretzels, beer, simple lunch dishes that will sell? The waitress recommended the tuna sashimi ?!? are you seafood or German. I love German food but was so turned off that I ordered the caprese salad and called it a day. Salad was good, fresh cheese but nothing spectacular. The view was my favorite and of course enjoying time with a friend but I’ll probably skip this place next time I’m in Gulfport. This place would be killer if the menu was German only. And they did it well.

One of the worst experiences, start to finish, that I’ve ever had. Would have asked for a manager but they clearly do not care how this is run anymore by the reviews. We started out trying to eat upstairs since it was not too hot outside. The band that was setting up was so loud that I finally understand the expression«couldn’t hear my own thoughts.» The waitress couldn’t even hear our order. And the music itself was abrasive and not great for a dinner atmosphere.(We have eaten up there many times with music with no problem) We requested to move downstairs, where no one was available to seat us even thought it said«please wait to be seated.» The dining room was completely empty despite it being 6pm on a Thursday(the upstairs was also empty). We placed our order for two«best wursts» fries and onion rings each and waited. And waited. And waited. We know this place has horrible service, we’ve been here many times, but this was beyond ridiculous. We were the only 2 people in there and we waited over 30min for hot dogs and French fries. No one came to refill drinks, we had to ask and the other server seemed actually annoyed when we did do And somehow, a family came in 10min after us and was served well before us When we were finally served, the order wasn’t even correct and none of the condiments(or my requested water) were on the table and we had to wait until they found the mustard that«had disappeared.» Even though service has always been a problem, we’ve put up with it for the view and the decent food. Until tonight. I asked for ranch for my fries and was given, what can only be described as «ranch water soup.» It was disgusting. So I asked for something different. And was brought another ranch water soup from the chef’s «new batch.» Finally was given a remoulade. sauce that was so poorly made all you could taste was the overabundance of dry spices and cayenne, and had to be mixed mayo to be palatable. As far as the«best wurst,» it should be called the«best of the worst» the debrizer lacked its usual bold flavor and the texture of the bratwurst was offputting, at best. The bun was stale, even toasting didn’t disguise it and the sauerkraut was tasteless. The entire experience took almost an hour and half. And would have cost $ 30 if not for our Groupon(which server did not know about before the check). For glorified hot dogs and French fries. For thatb we could have had something homemade and delicious from Pias or Omaddys. Truly disappointed. Won’t be back and will be steering everyone towards all the amazing restaurants this town has to offer. Oh and never try the beer cheese. It comes out as a greasy congealed blob. Come to my house instead, I make great beer cheese.

Had brunch/lunch here on a Sunday morning. They do not offer a brunch menu here. The drinks are pretty standard. Just domestic beers, as well as, your typical full bar menu items such as, shots and cocktail mixes. Although, if you ask, they will let you know that they have unlimited mimosas for $ 8 with the purchase of an entrée though. I took advantage of that deal :) For the entrée, I had the shrimp and avocado salad. It was very delicious and came with the house dressing(A slightly sweeter version of a balsamic vinegarette). There were only a few customers at the time that we went. Therefore, the friendly wait staff didn’t have any problems meeting our needs in a timely matter. We ended up sitting on the upper level where we had a very beautiful view of the water/sailboats/Seascape. Nice way to begin the day!

I wanted to be wowed. However the view from the upstairs area is the only wow. I ordered the fish tacos. They were the most bland — no flavor fish tacos I have ever had. I added ground pepper and Tabasco — it helped a bit — but with no base flavor cooked in– mildly edible! On a happy note they are reasonably priced. Go for a drink or two. Go for the view Don’t expect much when it comes to food.
