These sandwiches are AMAZING! In town for business and looked for something «local». Saw this place on Unilocal.Between the 3 of us we had the Original (cheese and onion), the Mushroom Steak (cheese, onion and mushrooms) and the Pepper Steak (cheese, onion and bell peppers). The steak was delicious – you could taste the crust from the flat top. Perfect rolls and the veggies were sautéed nicely. The sides were fries and potato salad. Fries have a seasoned coating which makes them crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside. On top of all this awesomeness, the staff was friendly and very helpful. I can’t wait to come back!

The Philly cheese steak was full on meat and cheese. My wife and I got one each to go and loved it. Recommend it as a place to get a good sandwich.

I wanted to love this place after I was told good things and seeing all of the great reviews. But I must say it was flavorless compared to actually Philly cheese steaks I’ve had. I travel to Philly often for cheese steaks. The staff was friendly and maybe I’ll go back before my stay is over. I might have caught them on the wrong day.

When I’m traveling I always try to find a legit philly steak place, one that has cheez whiz available too. You haven’t had a legit philly unless you’ve had cheez whiz on it. This place has it! Not to mention awesome Philly cheesesteaks!!! Friendly clean environment, and they offer military discount! I’ll definitely be back!

Excellent service and French fries! The cheese steak was pretty good, it’s no Geno’s or Tony Luke’s but you’d be hard pressed to find a better cheese steak in Mississippi. I’d definitely go here again just for the fries and friendly service. It’s pretty cheap too.

After several moves in and around Gulfport Tony’s has settled down and has kept some of the best Philly sandwiches coming out of the coast. I myself prefer the traditional 7 inch (**** stars) no fancy mushrooms or peppers for me. Just good old meat, cheese and some mayo topped with a little pepper relish. The loaded potato salad is good (***½ stars) and make sure you try the videllia onion chips they sell.

During our family vacation to Gulfport, we went to get Philly cheese steaks sandwiches from Tony’s. First of all, Tony himself was there and he prepared all six sandwiches even asking and placing everyone’s name on each sandwich. He also gave each of us a sampling of the Italian ice. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would 100% recommend Tony’s!!! A1 CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! SUPERB!!!
Philly Cheese Steak with the cherry peppers, fries were delish and the Italian ice was DEVINE (I had Mango. umm umm)!!! Also, the homemade lemonade was refreshing and on point! Got to go back before we head back to Memphis, TN.

I never understood the appeal of a Philly cheese steak sandwich until today. This was by far the best sandwich I have had. Ever. The bread was really fresh and usually I pile mayo and mustard on any sandwich but this one didn’t need anything. It was wonderful! Also, the service was really friendly and everyone seemed happy! This place is also very clean. Tony’s King of Philly is my newest favorite place. Two thumbs up!

Hmm, I wonder if I was just really hungry the last time I came here. Don’t get me wrong; these cheesesteaks are definitely good, but upon further reflection, I don’t think they’re like super special or anything.

So my boss and I walk in this place claiming to be experts on Philly cheesesteaks and hoagies. Yea, right; in Mississippi?
oh! The joke is on me! This place was legit. I got a cheesesteak and the boss got a chicken cheesesteak. The only complaint we had was that they were a little skimpy on the cheese. That’s not a huge problem since cheese on a cheesesteak can be subjective.
One more thing, if you have a problem with your chicken cheesesteak being cooked on the same grill as the regular cheesesteak, this in not your place. I was expecting him to designate one part of the grill for the chicken, but nope.

Really good cheesesteaks. I recommend the deluxe because it comes with everything a philly needs; onions, cheese, mushrooms, peppers, and delicious steak strips. Nicole was a great cashier. Gave us great recommendations and made us feel important. If you are in Gulfport I highly recommend this place.

Good ‘ol Tony cranking out quality cheesesteaks! Tony’s cheesesteaks are full of beef and «wit» with lots of real provolone cheese. The bread is good… not too light, not too dense. It is not a hotdog bun or french. Its a good submarine roll (word is contrary to my nola sensibilities). The meat is flat-​topped and mixed «wit» onions as you order. Bread is set on top with the cheese for a good melt.
They also have chopped chicken breast in the style of the beef. Tony also offers italian ice… helps cool ya off if ya get the cherry pepper relish on your steak.
At the time of this review they are offering a good discount on a combo if you text in… great deal…

This is my favorite place to get a sandwich in Gulfport. I normally go with my usual and order a «7 inch Pepper Steak White American Wit» and it is amazing. The people here are really great and they always talk to you while you’re waiting in line. Also, before you order, know what you want and rehearse it a little because it can be a mouthful. I’m always impressed with the freshness and how quickly I receive my order. Tony Nelson’s is a Gulfport gem! Definitely give it a try if you have the chance.
