Stopped in while at the mall and found Bed Bath and Beyond has a whole pharmacy type selection of lotions, toothpaste, makeup etc. Ended up finding one item and had a coupon for 20% off in my email so I figured why not. I don’t typically shop at their store and am not entirely sure when I signed up for their emails but it was great to have the extra money off. Here is where I had my problem, I was standing in line at the registers and was the next customer in line. I could see the manager straightening items and kind of monitoring while calling for back up as at least 6 additional customers(more than one person but groups of people together) got into line behind me. So after a good 5 minutes a cashier comes up and I kid you not takes the last customer in line. Now to be fair even if he was a complete newbie to customer service the customers should have been like uh I’m not next, but this isn’t that type of mall. This is the type of mall where people will run you over and yell at you for being in their way(true story that I heard once). So I hardly expected that. Anyway one strike. So then finally the next back up cashier comes and proceeds again to take the last person in line instead of me who is still clearly first in line from the original line. As the last person in line is making her way to follow her I said I’m sorry I was first in line and waiting way longer than anyone else even before the person who is almost being done checked out… The cashier was dumbfounded and checked me out with my ONE item. I got a good deal(where my rating comes from) but complete lack of customer service all while observed by the manager just made for a bad experience. I used to work retail and this is just something that should not be done. If you are coming to relieve a long line you take the next customer not the last one! Not sure how likely I’ll return let alone use this place for my wedding registry.

I had an interesting experience at this store recently. It was a busy evening in December when I decided to do some shopping here. I knew exactly what I was going to buy, but there were no carts available, so I had to carry everything I wanted to buy. I was in luck to have one of the kind employees there take notice and offer to assist in carrying my goodies to the checkout. I did not catch his name, but he deserves a big thank you! He even found a cart for me to use in transporting my goodies to my car. However, my only disappointment came with the cashier. I had 5 gift cards to use on my order. 4 of them were emptied, but the last 1 had a balance on it. He gave me my receipt and said his farewell. When I asked him about my gift card, he needed me to clarify. I do not think he understood that the last one had a balance that I was entitled to. He just grabbed all 5 and gave them back to me. I would have expected him to know that the last gift card would have a balance and return it to me, naturally, with the receipt. I would have understood if he was a bit flustered from the busy day, but I do not think that was the issue. I do not think he understood the concept. He could have matched the gift card number to on the one on the receipt that showed a balance. Instead, he just gave me all of the gift cards, including the ones that had no balance. I hope that my explanation makes sense. In light of that, however, I think my experience was positive.

I am a fan simply for their large inventory which consists of seemingly everything under the sun! It is a little too dark in this star, which I found off putting and it seems that in some places things were just placed on the shelf with not much care, but in the category it was meant for nonetheless. The service was friendly and helpful. I was there in the morning when it opened so I cannot speak to the service during the busier hours. What I can say, is that if you want to go when there is ample service and cheerful staff, the morning is a great time to go.

This location is okay… however compared to other Bed Bath’s this place is a bit on the small size yet it has all the same amount of items. Thus, I find the store very cramped. Due to it’s location, this store also gets very crowded and as such if I need to come here, I do so very early in the day.

I have always found this store to be in order, as huge as it is, or in process of being put into order every time that I shop here. Items usually are easy to find, likely because of the order that is characteristic of this store. The only problem that I encounter with any regularity is that staff availability is either in feast or famine mode at checkout stations and throughout the store. Perhaps it is the case as one shift prepares to leave, the other still prepares to work.(I will have to take note of the time of day when I next note that staff is in short supply.) Regardless of the state of staff availability, staff ALWAYS is polite and pleasant, and seemingly always really tries to be helpful; a rarity these days, particularly in larger chain stores where employee indifference and apathy seem to be en vogue. I issue four stars rather than five, because, regardless of cause, staff accessibility is something that can stand improvement, something that would be relatively easy to quickly remedy, and something that would profoundly improve customers’ shopping experience. Check online and also Inquire at the store Service Desk about how to register for coupons that you will receive in the mail for remarkable savings, with little or no personal investment of effort!

This place is huge! As all Gurnee Mills stores should be. Wide range of merchandise that included all sorts of toiletries and beauty products that my Bed, Bath & Beyond does not carry. There was some sort of remodeling going on during my visit, which made a small portion of the store, somewhat of an eyesore. I understand that renovations are necessary… but still.

This store gives new meaning to customer service! From the moment I entered to when I left, not one employee failed at saying good morning! It was amazing. Not sure if everyone was just in a great mood or coached by management. Either way keep up the good spirit. The store was extremely clean, organized and fully stocked. No need to go looking in three different spots for what you need. Oh and they always have a pretty size able clearance section that will suck you in. Checkout was speedy and ended a really unique shopping experience. Keep up the great atmosphere guys!

One of the better BB&B locations, and a nice anchor tenant for Gurnee Mills Mall. This store includes a Harmon store-within-a-store concept – something you see in few BB&Bs. You can shop for toiletries along with the usual departments of bedding, cookware, small accessory furniture, etc.

This store covers 3 of the 4 main functions of humans; sleep, shit, and eat. The only function left out was sex, oh well, there is a Victoria Secret in the mall, good luck with that. For the parts that they cover this is a nice store with a wide arrange of products at a wide range of price, so you can go either cheap or expensive, they got it all. The surprise would be in that they have a very good kitchen selection as far as utensils go, good selection and good price. Once you get on their mailing list you will get a 20% off coupon in the mail for any product about once every 2 weeks so the savings can really add up if you know what you want. One of the better stores in Gurnee MIlls.
