This store has a small but diverse and well stocked craft beer area. I usually have nothing bad about this place. However, this past week I stopped in to buy some crafty beer, specifically Green Flash. It was signed and priced at $ 10.99 when I got to the register the cashier told me it was $ 12.99. I took him to the sign and he said someone forgot to take down the old sign. I asked if I could buy it at the advertised price. He said no because the owner wasn’t there. I had intended on buying a different product too but left empty handed. Why should I pay for a product that I’m being charged more for. Also, why let a customer leave empty handed over $ 2 dollars?

Pretty good bourbon selection. I’ve got my eye on a 12 year Whistlepig behind the counter. They also had a few Meads that I had never heard of, so that is always a plus.

STOCKUP This place reminds me of being a kid. When my parents went to stock up for parties or Christmas presents they always went to a store like this. There are not many of these little stand alone small liquor stores anymore. So this place has a sweet spot in my heart and when I’m in the area I try to patronize them. This place always has a ton of parking, so you won’t have to worry about searching for a spot. The staff is always friendly and are really fast at getting customers out the door. The owners are even hip and use Belly, as a rewards program. I typically do not see Belly outside of Chicago. I’m sure many Gurnee people are not into Belly but its a good feature. They also sell lottery tickets here. Hopefully I’m lucky tonight. I always try buying my tickets in the burbs cause you never ever hear about anyone from Chicago winning the lottery. That’s my plan and I’m sticking to it. So you can’t go wrong here between the liquor and the gambling. It’s like Vegas without the indoor smoking or airplane ride. So next time your feeling lucky, then come and shop here!

This liquor store around the corner from my house is great. The staff are helpful and efficient. They have a large selection of wines, beers(including small-batch crafts), hard spirits and mixers. They are also dog-friendly. I can take my pooch for a walk and bring him in with me. Prices are very fair, and they frequently run close out sales on wines and branded spirit paraphernalia. If you don’t see something you want, you can ask the guy at the desk to carry it. This is my go-to liquor store in Gurnee. They even sell lottery tickets. Cardinal Wine & Spirits is worth a look.

I’ve been going here for years, but not on a regular basis. They are the store I go to when I can’t find what I want at the grocery store. The selection o craft beers is much better than many places, but the store is rather small and the prices higher than a higher volume store. I was looking for Crème de Cassis today, and they didn’t have it, but they knew exactly where I could get it and told me the name of another liquor store in the area. I ended up getting a substitute at this store after the manager discussed options with us. Good service here.
