I really wanted to like this place being so close to my house and not the typical chain. The family and I went on a Saturday evening around 5 and the place was dead so we were seated quickly. Our waitress seemed very new so we cut her some slack on our slow service. The food was just ok. Not very good especially for the prices. I was expecting so much more! I may try again someday but no time soon is my guess.

We tried Confetti’s when my in-laws came through for a quick visit on their way back from vacation. It wasn’t our first selection, however, choices in Gurnee are always limited on weekends as the crowds are horrendous on Grand Ave. We tend to avoid that area until weekdays. Alas, we ended up on Confetti’s doorstep. The place was totally dead. I mean… Dead. Aside from a couple folks enjoying a beverage in the bar. The dining room was quiet. And we were seated in the very back corner, farthest against the wall… Under an air conditioning register. The A/C was cranked… It was 50 degrees outside. We froze the entire time. The drab décor didn’t help our mood, either. Our waitress was sweet enough — she offered to go talk to someone about the temperature. Unfortunately, she had to inform us that they ran out of a couple dishes(after we ordered them of course), so we had to look over the menu again. I ordered Chicken Parmesan. It’s typically a safe dish… Also happens to be one of my favorites. Unfortunately, all I could taste was bell pepper. It is SO overwhelming in the sauce. One of our group’s steaks was way overlooked. My husband’s pasta dish was unappetizing and swimming in garlic. Too much masking, not enough flavor profile. Though it is close to home, and our waitress was very pleasant, I have to say the food was not worth the price. At all.

Met a friend for drinks and a light dinner. They had a decent turnout for karaōke. Confusing menu and name. Not sure if the food is supposed to be New Orleans themed or Cajun/southern. For a non franchised restaurant in Gurnee it is alright. Broad food and beverage selection.

We were there last night(a Friday night). My husband had the chicken marsala & I had the salmon, both of which were good, esp. my salmon with garlic mashed potato and asparagus. However, Confetti’s was difficult to find with little or no signage on the main streets. We walked in the bar entrance & were immediately lost when no one greeted us. IMO if they want to have 2 entrances they need to have 2 hostess stands w/hostess. Confetti’s entertainment that night was exactly what we were looking for(the wild ones… a 60 cover band… and OH so good!) There was room in front of the band, that made for a perfect dance floor. Our waitress after the 1st45 min. or so after seating, began ignoring us. Once our food came it was hard pressed to find her again, thus making it difficult to refill my diet or my husband’s iced tea. I would defiantly go back esp. if we will be entertained by another good cover band. There was no cover, either. We did notice it was on the slow side for a Friday night, but we think it’s because of lack of signage. One needs to know it’s there in order to find it & even though we mapquested it, it was still difficult for us to find! They do have some room in the front for outdoor seating, so I hope they use it the next summer season! Very clean, nice place.

Had Lake County Women in Business Networking event here 9⁄17 — I ordered the Mediterranean salad with Steak for my lunch(there were a total of 4 menu items to choose from) and asked for dressing on the side. I was the last person to order but was one of 42 people served in a very timely manner AND the salad was awesome — steak medium rare and so scrumptious! Salad dressing was on side… I enjoyed to almost the very last bite. I highly recommend this restaurant for a good meal!

Two of us went there on a Friday night. No reservations needed which was nice. A quite cozy place. There were some empty tables so service was quick, foot was hot and good. I had the Gumbo, highly recommend it. Prices are on the average to higher side I thought for $ 14 for salads. It’s a nice place and we’ll be going back again.

I love the newly remodeled bar area, love the bands that play on the weekends and love the menu. I have tried many of the appetizers, salads, entrees, wines, etc. and everything has been great. The service is very friendly with the owner Art frequently stopping by your table in addition to other servers to just say hi… so you end up feeling like a regular and want to come back more often to see your friends.

I gave Confetti’s a try with my fiancé and I was not impressed. We accidentally went into the bar entrance and we were definitely lost. Instead of staff guiding us to the front, they simply looked at us like we were idiots. After we found our way to the front the food we ordered was not very good at all. The pasta my fiancé ordered tasted watered down and the sandwich I got tasted like I could’ve gotten better at Panera down the street. Im definitely not coming back.

I gave Confetti’s a try one time several months ago and didn’t get very far. We sat in the entryway for 15 minutes staring at an empty table in front of us, figuring it must be reserved, until we actually got seated at it after the inexplicable wait. Then, after being seated, we waited another 20 minutes to place our drink and appetizer order. After we were told they were out of the appetizer — at 6 pm on a Friday night — we gave up and went somewhere else to eat. I really should have remembered this experience before giving Confetti’s for another try last night. My husband and I ordered the Chicken Marsala and our friend ordered the Blackened Chicken. Aside from the food being really overpriced, it was entirely inedible. The plates were set down in front of us and just LOOKED unappealing, even before tasting it. The«marsala sauce» was a bland, gelatinous, ectoplasmic slop. The chicken breast was rubbery and obviously had been frozen. The pasta had no taste at all and was completely covered in the slimy sauce-goop. I took two bites and had to send it away. My husband was trying to be nice and took four bites before giving up the ghost. As for my friend’s blackened chicken, there was an unidentifiable substance slopped on top of it that might have been some kind of buttery crust, but she wasn’t sure. There were lumps in the sauce that she said might have been apples or onions, but she couldn’t be sure which. What she was sure of was the fact that she was up all that night with a case of the runs. Will not be making that mistake again.

My fiancé found a hair and plastic in her food. On top of that, my steak that was supposed to cooked medium was well done.

The décor was ok, employees fine, but food sucked. We had a Living Social deal, and I still didn’t feel like it was worthwhile. Prices too high for what you get and some of the food was borderline gross. The bread they brought us was either super old, or recently defrosted from the freezer. I’m a huge bread guy, and I didnt give it a second look. We ordered my son the $ 6.99(yes, $ 6.99) Mac and cheese from the kids menu, and it was obviously poorly prepared Easy Mac. Id never go back

So-this is the second time I took my mom here. The first time was Valentines Day, and then Mothers Day. On Valentines Day-the food was great, but the waitress was horrible, and ended up overcharging us, and then keeping ALL of the original tip. This wouldn’t have bothered me, but I tipped her over 20%, and the over charge was almost twenty dollars. And, again-she was a terrible waitress. But my mom REALLY liked the food, and wanted to go for Mothers Day. The food was good-but, as my fiancé pointed out-WAY overpriced considering the lack of professional attitude and attire from management. Our waitress was great(SUPERNICE)-but the«manager»? in casual/sloppy attire, and NO acknowledgement by hostess/waitress?, manning the entrance when we left, was REALLY rude, considering it was Mothers Day. And before anyone comments on my review, please bear in mind-my mom is 87, she really enjoyed the food here, and even SHE felt the restaurant is sorely lacking in professionalism, considering the prices on their menu. Our dinner for 3 ended up being(with tip, 2 glasses of wine, no appetizer, no dessert), $ 130.00-not bad, but WAY overpriced for a place where everyone looks like they’re working at a local bar. Call me snobby-but if you’re going to charge these prices-perhaps you should run your fine dining establishment as just that-and teach the front desk about public relations. Three is DEFINITELY not the charm.

This was our first visit to Confetti’s. It was actually our first visit to this location, which has been a couple of different restaurants before, and it definitely won’t be our last. I find it confusing that people are writing bad reviews on the food and service, because our server, Becca Carlson, was right on point, and couldn’t have been more pleasant or attentive and our meals were delicious. Quite honestly, our entire experience at Confetti’s was delightful. Having been a bartender and waitress for 19 years, I find myself being very critical of bad or mediocre service, when I know exactly what it takes to give stellar service… which is what we got tonight. Not one dirty plate lasted on our table for more than a minute before one of the many bussers whisked it away. There was a lot of hustle in that dining room… and I like that. A guidepost for me on the standards a restaurant keeps is how quickly dirty dishes are swept away… this tells me a lot about the culture of a place. Confetti’s held to MY highest standards tonight… APPLAUSE! The only reason I couldn’t give 5 stars is, because they ran out of broiled cod… on a Friday night during lent… and that was the reason we went there. HOWEVER… there was plenty on the menu that pleased us and we were fine with choosing a different entrée. Truth be told, I was struggling choosing the broiled cod when I saw the menu, because the salmon sounded very tasty… and indeed, it was! My husband ordered the shrimp carbonara, which was excellent. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, as was my salmon. It was obvious by the appearance of the plate that it had been made to order… and that was reflected in the taste of the dish. All in all a very delicious and delightful experience that will soon have us back for more. I will definitely be recommending Confetti’s to my friends and customers. Worth Trying. :)

We went on a Friday night. They were busy, but we found a table in the room adjacent to the bar. After 10 or 15 minutes, a waiter finally acknowledged our presence(after being sent over by another customer) and took or drink order. 10 minutes later our 2 diet Cokes arrived. 10 minutes later, we got menus. 15 or 20 minutes later, no one had cone back to take our order, so we left $ 5 on the table and got up to leave. A guy at the next table asked us, somewhat confrontationally, where we were going. Needless to say, we won’t bother going back. Atmosphere was uncomfortable. Prices on the menu seemed high. Service was non-existent because they were woefully understaffed. We went to Royal Thai instead and enjoyed stellar service and delicious food that I’m sure was infinitely better than Confetti’s would have been.

This was our first visit here. The service was good but the food was below average. We had a patty melt with sweet potato fries and a chedder burger with fries. The burgers had absolutely no flavor. Totally bland and lacked seasoning. The fries were soft and not crispy at all. They also were way oversalted. I dont plan on returning after such a poor meal especially for a burger to be in the 10 – 12 dollar range.

Not impressed. The interior is exactly the same as it was when this was Risotto’s, dark and a little sad, not at all befitting its new festive name of Confetti’s, except for the colorful mosaic candleholders in the center of each table. Even at the beginning of an early and empty Saturday lunch service, the wait staff was friendly, but inattentive. My coconut chicken appetizer was mostly hard as a coconut due to too long in the fryer and was accompanied by a tasty, spicy raspberry dipping sauce. My $ 14.50 chicken Marsala had one measly, tiny, tender chicken breast, and an insane heaping of average penne, and 3 nicely cooked asparagus stalks. I would have much preferred a larger portion of chicken and less pasta for that price, or far less pasta and a smaller price tag. It tasted… ok. I expected more for the heavily-touted, chef pedigree listed on the website. My husband said his Dijon chicken was alright. I hear there’s live music nightly. Perhaps that helps to add to the overall experience, but based on our experience, it was 2.5 stars at best, not much of a party. Not impressed. :-/

Mediocre food, amateurish service. Walk ins are not seated in the main dining room even when it is half empty at 7PM on Saturday night. The wait staff had no idea which table ordered the food they were delivering, so they asked table after table of diners. We got a basket of rolls but no plates. The Cajun chicken and pasta was bland. The ham and cheese croissant was only ok. You can get food of similar quality at the Avalon next door for half the price. We have no plans to ever return. I give this restaurant 6 months tops.

I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 2 since i know this place just opened and hopefully some of the«kinks» will be worked out, also i have only come for lunch so maybe dinner is a different experience. Food is Average, not bad, but not knock your socks off yummy. Which for the lunch time being in the same plaza as tina’s you have stiff competition. Also the food is WAY over priced. $ 15.00 for a ceaser salad with chicken is insane when i can get a even bigger one at tinas for cheaper or go across the street to stevens. Would love to love this place but like i said, they have some pricing issues.

SNAPSHOT: Food: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars(restaurant portion, did not eat in the bar area) Customer Service: 5 stars Recommend?: Yes! We sat in the restaurant portion of the establishment. Their bar area is nice and open(for groups, cocktails and appetizers or a more casual and louder setting). ORDERED: Fried Calamari: Very good. Nice presentation and the dipping sauces complimented the calamari well. Chicken Marsala: Good. The chicken was moist and well-seasoned. There was a little too much penne pasta to accompany the chicken(a little less would have been less intimidating and would have highlighted the chicken better). The asparagus was cooked well. NY Strip Steak: Very good. Cooked exactly as ordered, medium-rare, and it was moist. The garlic mashed potatoes and the grilled veggies were very tasty. Overall a very nice dish — highly recommend it! Dessert: None. However, the table next to us seemed to enjoy theirs. OUREXPERIENCE: We were greeted and seated promptly on a Saturday evening. The bar area was a bit busier than the restaurant portion. The table décor was nice and the room had a warm and inviting feel. We had menus and water provided quite quickly. Our server, George, was great! He was very attentive, friendly, and made sure our plates were well-timed. The bread at the location was warm and soft, it tasted fresh and is a nice change from some of the other places we have tried in the Gurnee area(note to the restaurant: please keep this selection and quality). Also, with most of their entrees either a soup or salad is included(be ready to eat). Overall, we had a great experience here and would highly recommend it. It was a bit of a slow night on the restaurant side; however, the quality was there and their bar area appeared to be preferred over the main dining area(when we were there). For those of you wanting to try a new place, fairly priced, good food and ambiance, give Confetti’s a try — it will be worth it!
