If you can avoid it, avoid it. We arrived on a Friday night at 6:35pm, got sat, and waited… And waited… And waited for someone to at least acknowledge us and take our drink order. In the time that we waited I witnessed 3 other families be seated, acknowledged and their drink orders taken. I felt ignored, dare I say I actually felt a bit discriminated against as all the families I saw being serviced before my own were white and older(obviously we are not). I was so insulted that I instructed my family to get up so we could leave. On the way out I waited for a moment to alert the manager to the negative experience… I had to wait for that as well, since she was completely engaged in excessively long conversation with a customer in which they were laughing and joking and completely oblivious to my presence even though I was within a couple feet, waiting. I went to hostess stand and asked the hostess to page the manager(she was still so engaged in her conversation). When she arrived at the hostess stand, she would not even look me in the eye while attempting to deliver a completely choreographed apology. I left in complete anger and my kids are just now eating(7:30pm) because of the lack of service I received this evening… Avoid this place if you have the option; very disappointing.

We are staying a couple days at the near-by indoor water park and came here for breakfast. The staff and the service they provided was excellent, from the hostess to our waitress to the checkout clerk. I had pancakes, over easy eggs, thick cut bacon and hashbrown casserole. Everything was wonderful. My gf had the uncle henry’s special, two eggs, choice of meat(chicken tenders) hb casserole, grits, gravy and home made biscuits. Again, everything was fantastic. Our son had a sausage biscuit and the hb casserole and he ate it all and really liked it.

An upscale Denny’s. The ham I got was salted like no other, I asked if I could substitute grits for something else she said no and the waitress took forever and only checked up on us twice. IHOP is a safer bet.

I don’t frequent Cracker Barrel, in fact I hadn’t been to one in at least 10+ years, but a friend of mine suggested we meet up for lunch there. We got there at 10am so it was breakfast only. I couldn’t find just the right combination on the menu that I wanted. I wanted blueberry pancakes, but I also wanted eggs and bacon. They have a platter that comes with buttermilk pancakes, so I asked my waitress(sadly I can’t remember her name) if she could swap them out and she said absolutely without hesitation. I’m already impressed. The servings are HUGE. Each of my three pancakes were the size of my head; which were served on a second plate than my eggs and bacon. I also got butter, blueberry syrup, and real maple syrup which is served in individual glass bottles.(a cute touch). The pancakes were cooked properly and reminded me of those Bisquick shaker pancakes from when I was a kid. The eggs, which I requested be very cooked(think browned), weren’t that great(still squishy), and the bacon wasn’t as crispy as I’d like it. Our waitress was a real treat. She was kind and very attentive and always had a smile on her face. I felt like she actually enjoyed her job and it really made a difference. In fact it’s made me want to go back for more pancakes and maybe a cup of coffee this time. My bill after tip was $ 11, a totally reasonable amount for brunch. I just wish it was warm enough to sit outside on the rocking chairs like I did as a child. Overall yeah I recommend you try it out.

This is a good place. But not lately. We’ve been here twice and at 3:00pm they’ve ran out of Pot Roast on a Sunday. Why aren’t you cooking more? Too bad because it is one of our favorites. Ask first before ordering or you might receive an apology from the manager. Ugh.

Got their Thanksgiving dinner as I could not travel to see family and wanted the traditional meal. It met the traditional standard but not the quality of a traditional home cooked meal. The dinner consisted of turkey(the more processed style with not enough gravy), ham(too dry and no sauce), carrots(which I chose and were good), mashed sweet potatoes(pretty good), and cranberry sauce(good). Side biscuit was nice and warm but the corn bread was not very, well, corn bready! The desert was pumpkin bread and was nothing to write home about and for some reason the Diet Coke tastes like diet rite or some off brand. We ordered an extra slice of pie so we could get the pecan, chocolate chip(terrible that you can’t pay say a dollar extra to substitute you have to buy a separate desert) and I found it to be the best part of the meal. The best part was the price, thanksgiving dinner for 2 with an extra slice of pie and two drinks and tip was like 32 bucks!

Go here only one thing –the pancakes, I am crazy about them. In the beginning we tried other thing but they are just ok. The star for us is the pancake –buttermilk is yummy and bluberry is super yummy. They are fluffy and soft. The maple syrup goes great and eventhough i am not a fan of chains, I always look forward to have brunch here and This is where we eat if we are on higway brunch time and hungry.

Not all Cracker Barrel restaurants are the same. The food does vary and so does the service. At this particular location, we were very pleased with our dinner. Our granddaughter just graduated from Navy boot camp at nearby Great Lakes. This was the place she chose to have her first restaurant meal since she arrived in that area nearly two months ago. It had all been Navy food. She loves Cracker Barrels. Everyone(all six of us) walked away pleased with their meal and with the service. For me it was the hand breaded catfish. I love the catfish at Cracker Barrel. You can almost always guarantee it to be absolutely delicious … and it was. For others, the vegetables were a big winner as was being able to order okra — an item not readily available in the Pacific NW. The chicken fried steak was good and big enough to share between two plates. It was a great place and, of course, it’s always fun to walk through their Old Country Store.

Ever wanted to like a place that you have tried them again and again and get the same result? My hubby loves the breakfast here and I agree when it’s not cold. We placed our order and are waiter just seemed to hate his job. I would look around for him so I could get more coffee. If that was not bad he would bring some of the food out with only some of it so by the time we get the rest our food was cold. Needed condiments but that was just asking for too much :(I did tell our waiter he just didn’t seem to care then went to stand in a long line to pay with only one cashier. Saw what looks like a manger just walk by … Really ! Finally came to help with the lines never asked me how everything was hmmmm … I will just buy the pancake mix and make it at home.

shop-eat-shop…located in a hard to find area(the inner roads to get here is a labyrinth)…this restaurant has been here forever and is a familiar place for the locals… i occasionally stop by here when i’m in the area… the menu has not really changed… food is ok(not great, but not bad either)…portion and price is good… dumplings is my choice of sides… and as always, according to the peg game — i’m just«plain dumb»…

Next best thing to a home cooked meal. Very cozy with the lit wood fireplace. Their buttermilk chicken special on Sundays is the way to go. I crave it. Their pancakes are the best I’ve ever had. I always have their add only water pancake mix in my cupboard. great for families.

After finding out that CB sells a specific item that I wanted I called and had a very pleasant experience on the phone with the female employee. However, when I went to the store(the same day but a few hours later) it was a totally didn’t experience… not one single employee greeted me when I walked in, didn’t offer any assistance, and when I made eye contact with the same employee more than once she basically gave me the stank eye every time. Really? After spending 20mns looking around I decided to buy the item that was being held for me(I was told I had 4 days to pick it up) when I got the the counter the cashier told me they put it away. Umm what!!! What sucks about this situation is that CB is the only place in a 500 mile radius that sells the item that I like. Dilemmas, dilemmas. lol

You know, I always get so excited when I find out that a trip to Cracker Barrel is upcoming but then once I’m there I remember that the food is actually not that great. I mean, it’s not bad… it’s just not especially better than any other restaurant. What dish are they known for at Cracker Barrel? I’m going to order whatever that is next time I’m in to test out my theory. Anyway, This place is more about the experience: the store, the friendly staff, the big rocking chairs out front that keep you busy until they call your name for a table. Checkers! But then… that’s pretty much it. It’s like someone put a big, shiny Hollywood façade on the front of an IHOP. I wanted to give 3 stars because there truly isn’t anything spectacular about the food, but a 4th star is definitely in order for the service. A friendly and attentive staff are SO important and this Cracker Barrel location is doing it right. From the big smiles that greeted us when we first walked in to the manager who took our order anyway — we thought she was the waitress — but she never skipped a beat. Such professional :) Thanks for a great experience(even though the food is mediocre).

Got an order of Chicken and Dumplings to go. Order was prompt and fast. The chicken and dumplings aren’t too bad. I can’t eat too many of the dumplings though. Biting in to chunks of dough doesnt sit well in my stomach. What i don’t recommend is the mashed potatoes. It was very dry and bland. It didnt taste fresh and is very flaky/dry. I dont think i’ve ever had horrible mashed potatoes from a restaurant before. This is a first. Nothing about those were good. My homemade ones are so much better. So avoid those when you are there. Their breakfast selection looks good. I will be stopping by some time to try it and update this review.

As a family of 3, our total bill was $ 25. Repeat — a family of three, hungry folks ate at a restaurant with three meals and beverages for a grand total of $ 25! It was a reverse sticker shock. I have not been to a Cracker Barrel in years. I forgot about the décor, the chicken & dumplings and the giant store. As my nostalgia took me back to the late 80s/early 90s, it appeared the the menu pricing also took that trip with me. The food was mediocre but it came out piping hot in an incredibly short amount of time. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. With correct expectations, we’ll come back for an easy-going, affordable meal again.
