IT’SUGAR

Candy, candy, I can’t let you go… this place is crazy addicting. First of all, you walk in and immediately perk up from either the bright lighting and vivid colors, or the sheer rush of sugar inhalation. They have pretty much every candy, new and nostalgic, you could ever think of. They have a lot of bulk bin options including a ton of gummy, sour and regular, but the kicker is that many of these are the freshest, softest gummies you’ve ever laid your grubby little hands on. Kudos to them for getting the gummy cola bottles right– the only place I’ve found them where they actually taste fresh and delicious, outside of my time spent in the Netherlands as a child. The sour gummi bears, regular gummi bears (particularly watermelon), double cherry sour gummies, and sour gummi octopi were some of my very favorites. And they have some funny and adult-​natured candy too, and by that I mean insulting gums and the like; nothing too obscene! ;)
The whole joint was jumping. They only opened in Gurnee Mills Mall on Good Friday of 2013. I considered rating them 5 stars but I’m not certain how they compare cost-​wise to competitors. I think it might be a little on the high side cuz I walked out of there with $ 70 of spontaneous candy purchases! So, tread lightly, you’ve been warned. I think I need a candy cigarette after my visit to calm the sugar laden nerves.
