Food is good. Ordering w the free perks online via Unilocal is nice. Staff is very friendly and accommodating to my order. Like coming back to this place when I’m in the area.

Food was ok. The guac needs some work as it is really bland. The tortilla chips were good but hit them with some salt. The hot sauce on the table had fruity notes to it which was weird but the verde was spot on. The only one who actually asked if our food was good was an older gentleman who was super nice. As other reviews state the shorter waitress has to be family to still be working here. Pricing is a little high but and the flan was really good per the kids.

This I was a hole in the wall place I tried for the first time not too long ago. It is a fast food Mexican restaurant and the food was great, super fast and super fresh. I got the steak tacos and they were delicious wth fresh ingredients on them. Their fresh tortilla chips came warm to the table the i particularly liked their green salsa. The ambience of the restaurant was nice. They had nice, bright and refreshing colors in the restaurant. I was there at lunch and it was packed in the middle of the day! Usually a good indicator to how good the food is.

Cozy mom-and-pop shop with fast casual food. Both the house salad and chef’s salad were great. I loved that there was a whole hard-boiled egg in the house salad. The photo menus are a great touch because I certainly don’t understand the menu options. Everything reads like a mixture of meat, cheese, and rice! Flautas — my new fave word/dish! The melted cheese with chorizo was literally just that — I was delighted.

Gave 3 stars based on how clean the place is and the fresh tasting food, ordered a steak burrito it was ok, kinda small for $ 8+, don’t understand the extra $ 1.50 for steak, there wasn’t a lot on the burrito, too expensive for what you get.

This is the only restaurant I know that serves a jibaritos with a softer style banana and I love that! Grab yourself a knife and fork and dig into the steak version. My wife and mother-in-law come here for the vegetarian options and the tremendous use a spice! Everything is season to add flavor and not to be obnoxiously hot. This is the kind of mom-and-pop stop that is worth going out of the way for. Avoid the big chain options and Gurnee and do yourself a favor, go to mama corn

Hour and a half… stilll waiting. Then they didnt even want to give a discount and didn’t seem to care that they never delivered our food. Told us we could drive there and they would make us one. No thanks. Business plans like that are usually short lived.

Very disappointed that they stopped delivery. I have to leave a one-star review just because of that-I simply cannot do pickup at their location.

The one star is for the service that a short Hispanic chick gave not only us but everyone else that came in. Just because you don’t like your job don’t take it out on costumers that are paying your wage. Never came to the table to take our order had to fag her down and it small inside not like she was far away. Never greeted anyone that came in the door. Took over 10 minutes to get salas and chips we ordered along with our drinks. Now we where the only ones eating in. I saw her box up a order to go and give it to another customer sideways. His face was priceless like he really wanted his food to be on top of each other. When came time for refills she was on her cell phone and we got our own refill. The rice was tasteless and the beans. The steak is good. The food is over priced.

I had an emergency taco craving today, and our usual place was closed. Luckily momcorn to the rescue. We went in and ordered way too much. The chips are super fresh. The corn in a bowl was amazing — a must have for me at every place. The beef empanada was flavorful and well seasoned. I got the al pastor which had rich flavor. Mexican style of course. The tortillas were amazingly soft. My husband had the pork tacos American style and said they were quite good. The price was right for all we are. Will definitely be back.

The only reason there is a star is because the food is fresh. It’s obvious and that is a nice change of pace… however, it soooo lacking flavor!(I should’ve known by the look of the rice and beans I saw on a neighbors plate as I sat down… looked unseasoned and over cooked) You have to buy your chips and salsa, which is not a huge deal but heads up. They offer 2 salsas in a tube red and green, one spicy and one mild, flavor was decent but the chips were hot and fresh. They were the best part of the meal! I ordered the loaded enchiladas and husband got the flautas. Service was not the best but I can always look past that if the food is amazing; but in this case they were lacking in both. The steak did not have a sear to it what so ever and the ground beef was bland. I can better and cheaper tacos from the Super Mercado down the street. Definitely not worth the price.

Once again, you’ve outdone yourself. Sergio is the best delivery man around. Always polite and cheerful. I had the jibarito after my boyfriend ordered it last time and I just about ate all of his! Absolutely delicious and fresh as always!

We have dined here twice now since my last review. And we are obsessed with the grilled plantain steak sandwich and cream corn with chile powder! Omg something unique and different! Forget the tacos! A server recommended this dish to us and now I crave it! Here’s kind of the downfall if you dine in you still have to pay extra for chips and salsa. But don’t fill up on it and go straight for the grilled plantain steak sandwich! It’s huge and amazing!

Ordered delivery. Got the fried plantains, quesadilla with chicken, and a torta filled with al pastor. Delivery was pretty quick; about 40 minutes. Arrived in a newer van with Momcorn livery. Good advertisement. Before I say anything, my only concern was the portion size for the plantains and the quesadilla. The portions were not awful for the dollar amount, but the staple Mexican restaurant makes you think that the dollar is a lot stronger than it actually is. The plantains were delicious. Not too greasy. Mildly sweet. A bit short, maybe one or two more slices would be favorable. The quesadilla was made with a maize tortilla and was maybe the size of a taco: think about a tortilla about 6 inches in diameter. My gripe besides the portion was just that it was a bit too bland. Served with a side salad with salted cheese. Very good. A green sauce was served alongside. A little spicy, with good flavor and smooth consistency. Not a bad take on salsa verde. Less cilantro than I’m used to. A bit mild for me but that’s not of much concern. The torta, I felt I got my money’s worth. Order a torta at any other Mexican place and expect a heaping pound to two pounds of sandwich. This was still a decent sandwich, maybe just short of a pound, and had good flavor with less of the characteristic grease. The al pastor was nicely seasoned and the vegetable toppings were fresh. Also served with a cup of the green sauce. For what I paid, I’m satisfied. It tastes good and it’s fresh.

Best homemade mexican food in the area. Everytime I am visiting friend in the area I come here. I have been here several times and everytime I tried something different on the menu and always had great experience. They do make it all from scratch. Quality is apparent in the food. Taste is out of the world. This time I tried 4 different items. Cheese quesadilla, chicken flauta, chicken tamale and pumpkin tamale. Pumpkin tamale was special of the day. I liked their Flauta the best as everything else is as good too. They also do a great fried plantains dish as well. Everything is great. Ive sampled little of almost everything on the menu not the fish or pork related ones though! They do offer specials as well. Everyone who works in that restaurant is super nice and very welcoming. You can view the kitchen and see what the cook is doing at anytime. This place is great for gluten-free and they offer tons vegetarian options as well keeping everyone inclue meat lovers happy. They stand out far from many mexican places.

Came in to grab some lunch after looking around on Unilocal for good lunch restaurants in the area. Service is awesome, the team here makes you feel as if you have been a customer for years. The food came out fast and I was able to utilise the free check in deal on Unilocal. It’s a very clean nicely decorated restaurant and in terms of size and looks they did well for what they were going for. Food is really good and prices are not bad at all when you consider the amount of food you get and how pricey most of the restaurants around the area are. Whatever spices they use I fell in love with and the salad was freshly made. The owner was around and she is really nice, it adds something unique to a customer’s experience when they see that the owner really cares about their business and are doing a good job at running it. I will definitely be coming back to dine in a and get the full experience.

Bright restaurant, friendly servers, a welcoming environment but the food felt and tasted very safe. After reading the positive reviews, I knew we had to check Momcorn out. The experience was nice. We were quickly greeted by the hostess and the owner and sat down. It’s a bit confusing. You aren’t sure if you should order from the giant wall menu or be seated with menus. One of my favorite features is they hand you a photo book of what each items looks like. What really matters is the quality of the food. The chips, though homemade, were incredibly oily and the guacamole was very bland. Our meals came out very fast but were missing a lot of flavor. Everything was pretty 1 note. With room in our stomach’s for dessert, we gave 2 a try. One was deep fried and it had a lot of potential but the oil used tasted old and nearly burnt(a bummer for sure). I think this place has some great potential and it’s really a welcoming place for kids. But they need a signature dish or two and to add some spice and flavor to their dishes. I got the vibe that they played it safe with hopes of becoming a franchise.

This is such a cute restaurant, run by husband and wife(i think). The boyfriend and I walked in at around 4PM for a very late lunch. No one was there except us. We decided to dine in and give this place a try. The lady was very nice and explained a few items from their menu to us. Momcorn makes home made drinks like chicha morada and horchata. After browsing through the menu and their«Secret menu,’ we decided to order the Flauta plate(3 flauta’s with rice and beans) and 1 chicken quesadilla. The Flauta is not too bad. It was very crispy on the outside and plenty of chicken in the inside. It has a strong corn taste with little seasoning on the shredded chicken. I personally think it needed a little bit salt. What i did not like was the strong greasy after taste(the taste you get when the oil has been reused to fry things over and over again for days) after my first bite and every bite after that. I was only able to finish one flauta and my bf finished the rest for me. I did however finish the rice and some of the beans. Those were good. My boyfriend liked his Quesadilla. He said i would probably like that better than the flauta’s. My plate was not cheap. It was $ 9.99. I thought it was a bit expensive. I got a free Natilla for checking in on Unilocal. It was very rich. Kinda chocolatey, with small tiny bites of corn/or corn flakes in it. It looks like a flan but texture was a bit harder and jello-y. We both had a couple spoonfuls and couldnt eat any more because of how rich the dessert was. If you love mexican food, this place is not too bad. I just hate having to eat something fried and have that horrible, greasy after taste keep coming up. It ruins my appetite and makes the food taste bad. Or maybe i just have a weak stomach. Once 5′ o clock hit, there were some walk-ins and phone orders. The owner was by himself so he was kinda busy. We waited for some time and finally just decided to meet him at the counter to pay our bill and leave. This place is kinda pricey for the quality and the amount of food given. I will not be returning any time soon but if you enjoy mexican food, maybe stop by and give this place a try!
