Toys R Us

My family recently needed some special care and treatment regarding a return. Manager Allison and associate Xavier were helpful, respectful and efficient.

Yup. It’s a Toys R Us, all right. It looks a lot like many of the other Toys R Us stores in the area. The prices are all about the same. This store has a little more party goods, and a slightly larger area for older boys and girls, than the TRU in Vernon Hills (they have a much bigger baby section). The staff are competent, and mostly-​friendly (a few seemed tired). It’s pretty much what I expected, in a Toys R Us store.

The only reason they got two stars is because they usually have a good selection. There is never anyone around to answer questions and the check out line always takes forever. The store always seems dark and dirty.

Store is separated from the rest of the mall. You get a nice greeting as you walk in but then good luck if you need help finding anything. On this date, I observed 2 groups of employees chatting away and doing nothing else. Me, I liked that nobody was bothering me as I just wanted to browse. But not once in almost an hour did anyone approach to even ask if I needed help. One guy came upon me my accident as he turned into the aisle I was in and immediately turned around and high tailed it.
The store aisles are not very wide either. Rather cramped actually. If you wanted to meet people, it would be ideal as it would not be hard to bump into someone.
I have been to other Toys r Us stores that are quite better laid out and a lot bigger. Being separated from the other stores is a bit of a pain too.
