I really love this place. The food is super reasonably priced, the service is great, and the establishment is very clean and airy. They have a great bar as well. They have two private rooms for parties which I have used for different events. The only problem with this place is the wait… but this is what happens with really good and inexpensive view with a NYC view. If you’re into Cuban food this is the pace for you.

Visited 06÷17÷16 Not sure why the address is 7100JFK Blvd. E, because there’s a large apartment complex at that address. The correct address is 6909JFK Blvd. E. in West New York. There are at least 2 Rumba Cubanas around. This one is overlooking the Hudson River and NYC. Great place and great food. I was recommended this place quite a while ago and meant to go several times. Finally we wanted to try something new and my wife remembered this place. We started off with Tostones Rellenos, plantains covered with beef, shrimp or ropa vieja and some fried calamari. Both of them very very good. My wife opted for the Lechon Asado, slow roasted Cuban pork marinated in citric juices, garlic and Cuban spices, served with black beans and rice. I had their ropa vieja, served in a little fried plantain basket also with rice and black beans. My sister in law had the same as my wife and my brother in law had a little bit of everything(UNPOQUITODETODO) which is a combination of roasted pork, shredded beef served with moro, yuca and 2 maduros. Everything was excellent. As for drinks, my wife and I had a pitcher of sangria,(red) which was just ok. Not great, not bad. My brother and sister in law shared a MONSTROUS Corona Margarita. One of those HUGE drinks that almost seems like a joke. But they loved it and it was gone when we left. So if you’re looking for a fun place with great food and drinks, this is it. Parking is tricky on the street, but they do offer valet parking which we didn’t see until we’d already parked. :-(

I honestly have to say their service is amazing as for waiters. The hosts are alright. I’ve honestly only tried their steak and I absolutely love it. It keeps me coming back for more. Valet parking employees are also very friendly.

The food here never fails!!! The atmosphere along with the location are great! They even have outside seating, with a little bit of a view. They even offer valet parking, which is great considering the location is pretty residential and there is usually no parking unless you park across the street in the mall. The menu has a nice variety! Every time I go I get to try something different and I always leave satisfied! The drinks are also great and the service they offer is excellent. They make sure you like what you have and even have offered to replace anything you don’t. The portions are great size as well! Enough to fill you up and still have enough left for another meal later. My favorite meal is «A Little of Everything!»

We have been coming here quite frequently for date night and we love this place! We started off with virgin pina coladas, added the chorizo and fish ceviche, and settled on the ropa vieja and lechon asada as entrées. The portions are huge and these two main dishes were less than $ 10 each! As expected, we ended up taking a good amount of food home. The atmosphere is quite lively, and there is a live pianist on some days. In short, the food is amazing and cheap too, and this place never disappoints!

Food was a bit bland but my roommate enjoyed it. I ordered the marinated pork. The black beans were on point, rice a bit cold and the pork wasn’t really that marinated. In fact a few pieces were hard… The appetizer spread was pretty good but the complimentary biscuits are also bland and stale. That said, their Sangria and especially their frozen margaritas are highly recommended. I’d definitely come again just to grab some drinks. The waiter was nice enough but the service was nothing special. We ate outdoors and it was a bit chilly so we really noticed that our food took more than 20 minutes to arrive. Overall experience: 2.5

It’s a nice place to have a few drinks. I wasn’t too impressed by the food though, the churrasco we ordered was good, the shrimp mofongo was too dry and was not what I expected, we also ordered ceviche and it was just alright, overall, I enjoyed their sangria, ok food and good service.

The 60 minute wait as always is worth it. The outstanding authentic Cuban cuisine is just that authentic. You cannot beat the prices as well. For apps we always stick with the same-yucca frita, croquetas de jamon, ensalada de aguacate, mariquitas y chicarroncitos de puerco. Always order the Ropa Vieja, Churrasco, Pollo a la Placha for dinner and have to have the Tres Leches for dessert. I suggest you stick with the white rice and black beans and stay away from the moro as it tends to be dry. To end the meal-The café con leche is excellent. Servers try to take the plates away from you while you are eating but all I say is I am not done yet. Most go at least once a month for my Cuban fix! Amazing view as well.

Drinks are strong, I’m proud of it. Food is great, service is alright although they could clean up the table a bit more often.(today a waiter cleaned and checked up on us often but other times not so lucky) other than that the view is nice place is clean. Just here more for the strong drinks. Never become cheap rumba, please you’re like the only place that has good mixed drinks for 9 $ you put like 4 shots in it. Empanadas a good start, ropa vieja is a good entrée, tres Leches yum and for a drink? I recommend ZOMBIEEEE P.S just got our waiters name, Huego! I hope I spelled it right but he’s a darn good waiter. Thanks for being poppin!

I originally found Rumba Cubana 6 years ago at its original location on Broadway. It was a small Cuban restaurant trying to stand out in an area with many Cuban eateries. Their edge over the competition is the great food, tasty drinks at a very reasonable price. Today Rumba has expanded to two larger locations; my favorite of the two locations is the one on JFK Blvd. The layout is spacious, authentically decorated, showcasing an outdoor patio and a great view of NYC. However, the best part is still the delicious food, tasty drinks served at a tremendous value. A few of my favorite dishes are; Chicharon de Puerco: Small crispy fried pieces of pork skin. Add lime and hot sauce to taste. Tostones Relleno: Fried green Plantains stuffed with ground meat, shrimp or ropa veija. Mofongo: Mashed green plantains with fried pork and garlic. Request a large dish of beef gravy for dipping or pouring over the dish. Ropa Vieja: slow cooked/marinated shredded beef in tomato, garlic, onions and peppers. Churasco: Nice, thick cut of skirt steak. If you order it well done or you’ll be committing a crime in 42 states. Bistec Palomilla: Thin flat steak topped with caramelized onions. Accompany the steak with tostones con mojo(garlic sauce). Costillas de Res: Meaty, slow cooked, fall off the bone ribs cooked in a beef and light BBQ base sauce. Masita de Cerdo: Marinated pork chunks, light fried. Best accompaniment with black beans & rice. Lechon Asado: Slow cooked, pork marinated in garlic and Cuban spices that’s cooked all day. This is a Cuban staple. Accompany the dish with Yuca con cebollas con mojo or Yuca frita con mojo. Drinks: Pitcher of Sangria(variety of flavors), Cuban punch, margaritas(variety of flavors), Pina Colada, Hemingway special. If your looking for a sweet happy ending, get a slice of Tres Leches or Flan de Coco Accompany that with a Café Cubano. Rumba Cubana is an wonderful place, run by an owner that cares about quality, service and a great dinning experience. Ok I am Cuban so I know what good Cuban food is and this place is great. Here’s the play by play of what to order to make sure you taste pallet is completely satisfied. When you get in there order two drink off the bat, the red sangria is delicious. Then for appetizers get Aguacate Rellenos with shrimp and the Tostones Rellenos with Ropa Vieja if you want two aps. For the main course their Churrasco(Skirt Steak) with white rice and black beans is amazing! I get it every time. The only other one I’ve tasted is the Pollo Rumbero which is chicken breast wrapped with bacon, stuffed with ham & Swiss cheese topped with creamy sauce. Very good as well! Bön Appetit!

Because I have been here quite a few times, I can not believe I have yet to write a review since the new relocation to Blvd. East. And all I have to say is what’s not to love about this place?! The inside décor makes it fun and exciting. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Parking usually isn’t an issue since they have their own valet service. They also have a pretty decent wine menu. Great spot for a variety of reasons. Amazing food, with can’t be beat prices and large portions. Literally, I ALWAYS bring home leftovers. Seriously!!! My boyfriend and I can walk in, gets some apps, a pitcher of sangria, two entrees and two deserts and the price somehow is still under $ 100. Service is «okay», could be a little quicker in my opinion. But in general, I find it to be a great spot to for any occasion… a date, with a group of friends, with family, whatever! Overall, it’s enjoyable spot that I would highly recommend.

Came here plenty of times for plenty of different occasions. Every time I come it’s always a long wait but of course it’ll be like that cause this restaurant is so popular. I love how they even added a waiting room upstairs where you wait to be seated and you can also order some appetizers and drinks. Great place! Great service!

If you’re looking for good Cuban food in a nice atmosphere this spot is for you. The wait time is usually over a half hour. Fortunately they text you a website where you see your place in line and an estimated remaining wait time. I recommend the ceviche which I really enjoyed. The prices are very reasonable too.

Just realized I’ve never reviewed the new Rumba Cubana location!!! As always the food it great! This location offers a valet service which is under the restaurant. I believe there is a charge for it. We often try to find street parking to avoid paying for the valet. The prices are affordable, and the food is always delicious. Service when eating in the dining room is always quick. At times there can be a very long wait at this location, and the waiting area is not that large. I was also at a private party at this location. The service was very slow, I actually left later then I expected to. The private party room is also narrow. As always the food was still wonderful. The reason I rated 3 stars was b/c of the long waits, valet, and the service at the private event. I do, however, this this is a great restaurant, and I’ll definitely be returning. I did enjoy their closed location more!!! I almost forgot I’ve also gotten take out from this location!!! The take out was WONDERFUL, and the order was ready when promised, even though someone else picked it up for me!

I come here for lunch once a month and the main reason i keep coming back is because you get what you pay for. The Ropa Veja is the main reason because its perfectly seasoned and everyone that works here must love working there because they just keep smiling! I would highly recommend this place to anyone for a great lunch! P. S. cant forget those crackers they are amazing!

I love Rumba! Be warned that you will wait 45 minutes+ for a table on a Friday night or weekend. The great part is that you can usually saddle up at the bar and can still order from the full menu. The food is really flavorful and the price is right. We ordered 3 apps, 3 entrees, and 2 pitches of sangria all for less than $ 100. I’m a big fan of the churrasco steak, vaca frita and ropa vieja, my friends ordered the fish and were very happy. You will not be disappointed! Forget about Son Cubano and the places in Hoboken and venture up to Rumba, and you won’t be sorry!

I had a lunch meeting with some co-workers there few months ago and I thought about my husband who loves churrasco. Like the last time, i ordered a delicious red snapper and my hubby a churrasco. even though we went during lunch time, and they were a bit busy, the service was great. To finish, i also ordered café con leche and tres leche which my husband eat all before telling me that he doesn’t like cakes! he loved it.

Great food, prices are just so low it’s impossible not to want to eat here! Ambiance is very nice, very typical and stylish Cuban feeling. Service is ok depends on what time/day you go, I’ve sat down with a alrge group and have waited over 1 hours to get our food. I have gone for a party from 12 — 4 and they get so busy the food comes out at 3:50 but they do give you ample time to eat and then leave. Overall, place is well worth it!

Took my girl here a few weeks back and had a good time. We got the chicken empanadas to start with. They were amazing. Some of the best empanadas I’ve had. So good we even took some to go. We also got a pitcher of sangria. It was very tasty and a good value. We were riding high after a great appetizer and a few solid drinks. I hate to say this but, but we were very disappointed with the entrée. We ordered the arroz con pollo and it was not good: /I’ve had much much better and sadly it was more like soup than anything else. It also lacked flavor in addition to the soupy texture. Overall I’d go back again, just wouldn’t order the arroz con pollo. Get the chicken empanadas!

Fantastic place, I live across the street and this place is always packed. I have been here many times and both the food and the price are great. GOODFOODOVERSHADOWEDBYBADTASTEOFTERRIBLESERVICE. Beware if u are not of Latin decent of used to New York level of service because u certainly won’t get that here. I’ve held my review until I dined there multiple times to make sure it wasn’t a fluke. Unfortunately I’ve confirmed that the service level at Rumba is simply sub par to say the least. They are unfriendly if you are not Latino/a and make you wait around for 20 – 30 min just to either order or to pay(both of which I have experienced). Your waiter will never check up on you and in the case of my group dinner last night, he even proceeded to count his tip out loud in front of us to make sure it was enough, despite the crap service we received all night long. Needless to say, if you’re craving their food, which is actually tasty, don’t ruin it by dining in there. Do yourselves the favor and just get take out for a much less obnoxious experience.

When it comes to bang for your buck, it is difficult to think of a better place than rumba! Both locations are excellent in this sense, with the West New York location be in the livelier of the two. I’ve been to both multiple times, most recently for my uncles birthday party; if you need a place to celebrate a birthday this is the spot! They have an upstairs lounge which I great for pre dinner drinks and then a very nice main dining area with a decent view of upper Manhattan. When it comes to food, I’ve honestly never been disappointed from all the times I’ve come. Some of the highlights are: mofongo with garlic shrimp sauce(AMAZING), the breaded fish fillet(my favorite) which taste very fresh and almost always is cooked perfectly, and all the sides I’ve had were very good! Their sangria is formidable as well; not to die for but it’s totally drinkable and affordable. GOFORTHEREDONE! The white isn’t pleasant. As for the rest of the drinks I can’t speak of besides the mojito which was really strong, not exceptionally tasty, but it had a ton of alcohol and it wasn’t expensive. Overall I would highly recommend any location of Rumba Cubana. It’s a great place and I enjoyed it every time I went.

Is Cuban food Spanish; yes. Is it Latin; yes. Cuban food is a little bit of all Spanish and Latin foods, in my opinion. Always rice, beans, plantains, pork, garlic, cumin, etc. in various forms from these cultures. Bottom line Cuban food is delicious and Rumba Cubana does a good job. Had dinner the other night and it was a lovely evening. Food was delicious. Service good. Ambiance nice. While it was not outstanding in all three areas. The combination of all three made up for some hiccups. The restaurant is spacious with lots of room between tables. Décor kitschy, but it worked. Active bar scene. A lady was playing some tunes on a piano. Very comfortable setting and easy to appreciate. We ordered a couple of combination entrees. Both where huge and very good. It had a bit of everything and lots of home style flavors. Reminded me so much of mom’s home cooking. Lots of food and flavor. Yum. Wife had a tamale, masitas de puerco, white rice, black beans and yuca platter. Tamale moist with a hint of sweet corn flavor. Rice hot and fluffy. Yuca firm; not overcooked. Beans very traditional and firm. Pork also moist with solid seasoning. I had the ropa vieja, moro rice, lechon and sweet plantain. Again all very flavorful with a perfect balance of Cuban and Latin spices. This meal brought back many, many memories. All good. Overall, Rumba Cabana is a must visit if your in the area and want an affordable meal. The Cuban style food was delicious. I must say that it was lacking in food temp. Food was just warm, but it was delicious with lots of flavor. Music was loud, but if you where at the other end; perfect sound. While service was good; waiter was a little stretched and mechanically. Not the end of the word. He was friendly and efficient. If your looking for some Cuban food at an affordable price with a home style flavor of home; Rumba Cabana is your place.

Came here over the weekend… Wanted Cuban food but wanted something out of the usual which is normally Cuban Pete’s so I decided to look around Unilocal and came across Rumba Cubana… Great decision I must add… I called to make reservations and I’m glad I called because I didn’t realize they have 2 locations as told to me by the nice lady who picked up the phone… 1. In North Bergen— which looked like a regular Latino restaurant in the middle of a residential area with no parking… 2. In Gutenberg overlooking the Hudson… Gorgeous restaurant, valet parking just PERFECT… anyway, obviously I decided to go Rumba Cubana in Guttenberg, upon arriving I saw a long line I was like oh no this is why I decided not to go to Cuban Pete’s… Went inside and it’s tastefully decorated and may I add very very clean… I gave my name and the host informed me it will be about a 45 minute wait… SMH… Drove 30 minutes might as well wait right??? Plus the view was just breathtaking and I just wanted to finish eating to walk and take cute pics… Another thing I loved about Rumba Cubana was that the host asked for my number and they will text and call when the table is ready… Fancy… Anyway … Our 45 minute wait for a table turned into only 5 minutes… FANTASTIC… We ordered 2 appetizers for 4 people… Started off with the sampler and tostones rellenos w ropa vieja… The tostones rellenos w ropa vieja DELICIOUS as for the sampler which consisted of cuban tamales(not good) fried pork(too greasy) ham and cheese croquettes(tasted fresh off a box) lacked a lot of effort and seasonings… As for my entrée I ordered the pork shoulder w the congri rice and sweet plantains… Can’t complain it was delicious… I was just mad I got full from the appetizers and sangria which let me tell you it was worth getting full for, I didn’t eat much of my food but the few bites I did eat everything was on point… Of course when in a Cuban restaurant is a must to end the night with a bomba shot of coffee and a tres leches cake… I wish I would of not ordered the 3 leches cake because it was not good at all oddly it was salty(?) But the coffee was the BOMB. as far as service, it was magnificent… My mom didn’t want what she originally ordered because it was already tasted the ropa vieja as an appetizer, few minutes before our food made it to the table with no hesitation or fuss, we asked our waiter if it was OK for her to switch her meal for something else and he said of course… Where they do that at ??? I loved that it was possible to make a last minute change… P. s. oddly enough when hubby went to drop off the car to the valet he had to pay the valet before going inside the restaurant, so make sure you carry cash… Will definitely be back…

I moved to N. Bergen about a year ago, and this week I’m finally going to Rumba(I live five blocks walking). This is a place where everyone comes on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I see people getting all dolled up to hit this spot. The parking garage is always full and people are always waiting. It kind of reminds me of the red lobster line in Manhattan. I stopped in to this spot on Sunday right before my game was suppose to start and I was hoping(more like praying) they have it. I was always worried about everyone being dressed up. Then again anyone who knows me, knows that I am NOT shy, but I am kind of at first. Well about 3 months ago they opened up a lounge above. Great bar seating, table and side seating too. It has a family, friend, and great for group atmosphere. They have great drink choices, with a lot of people ordering food. I see people getting the appetizer and sharing it, but the dining area is LIVE. They play music up in the lounge that really sets the mood and tone of things. People were dancing, laughing, and having a really good time. I had a blue moon with orange juice, which was served weird. I do love my cups cold, but it was a mason jar and then they gave me the orange juice in a little cup, I dropped it everywhere with the little cup and then cold mason cup it was crazy. I definitely was sad, but I was a little disappointed in the idea of how it was served. I was the one who poured everything into the mason jar. I really honestly didn’t trust myself and BOMB there it was half the cup all over the bar. I JUST knew it, but they couldn’t hear me telling them I had a spill, because the music was a little loud. They have three huge screens to watch the game which was really nice. They weren’t able to play my game, because they don’t have Direct Tv, which I didn’t know the whole time, they were sooo kind. The manager got involved because he is really into football. A few mins later the appetizer came out and I was only thinking about food, but was watching«red zone» to get the highlights about my team. I was super excited to find out that my team won in the end. I got the Rumberito, which is a variety of fried tasty treats; deep fried corn fritters, ham croquettes, empanadas, tamales, fried pork skins, stuffed potatoes(potatoes with beef and veggies). I have a spot I generally compare this food to and it was pretty good. Overall it was tasty, I would’ve liked a dipping sauce with it to help bring the flavors together. I would love to come back and try the fish and steak dishes. Overall the experience, the food, drinks, and the people all came together to make it a great place to hang out…

Love love love the food. Great neighborhood spot. The food is so affordable there is no reason not to try everything on menu. I recommend it all! My favorite is the grilled fish, the stuffed plantain appetizer, and all the seafood dishes! My favorite time to go is just before the crowd comes in. Anytime after that it’s a little too boisterous to hear your dinner partners. Still it’s a good time and a great atmosphere in a beautiful neighborhood that overlooks the city skyline. The view alone is worth the visit. Glad I live so close!

They have an amazing texting system and you can click on a link to see exactly where you are on the wait list! The prices are unbelievable… The ambience is phenomenal… The drinks are superb! First time trying their passion fruit sangria and going back for it asap. Their piña colada is so delicious! Their tres leche desert is perfection. All of the plates I’ve had here are really good. The last one I had was the tour of Cuba… The décor is breathtaking and the food presentation is always on point. Eh. I was expecting more from a place that always seems packed and with such a beautiful location. I will say that the customer service was top-notch! Our wait time was also way less than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered some passion fruit sangria(which was yummy) and sat on the balcony since it was a nice, cool day. First, they give you a plate of biscuits with a side spread that I found absolutely disgusting. When we asked what it was, the waiter said, «Everything.» He really meant it … ketchup, mayo, ham, pepper and a hodge-podge of other things that I can’t remember(and don’t care to). We had fried fish and shrimp ceviche as appetizers. The fish was great, but the ceviche was basically frozen shrimp in sweet tomato juice. I really wasn’t a fan. For dinner, my fiancé got a Cajun fish dish that was actually one of the more tastier things we had. I got the fried chicken which was beautifully breaded and seasoned BUT used dark meat which was very unexpected for a dish that almost always uses white meat(at least in every other Spanish restaurant). Still, not awful. I would probably come back for the ambiance and drinks, but definitely order different menu items. On a side note, we usually go to their sister location in JC for $ 4 breakfast(bacon, eggs, toast, fries, coffee and juice), which is great!
