Ummm… I ate here a few weeks ago and now it’s closed. ’nuff said.

Came here today with the boyfriend(November 15, 2015) Place looked really sketchy inside which was one star for both of us.(Bonus) lol There wasn’t really anyone eating besides another couple who were arguing with the waitress about the lobster. The boyfriend ordered one pound of shrimp(lemon pepper) which cost 9.99 a pound and a pound of crab legs which was $ 24.99 a pound. My boyfriend loved the shrimp. One star I ordered the Cajun seafood fried rice. It was delicious.($ 11.99) one star I don’t think we are coming back here again though. Don’t come here with high expectations.

Can’t believe I am seeing great reviews about this place. Took my family here the other day because we have been wanting to come here for a long time but never got around to it. The reason we wanted to come here was because it looked really nice from the outside and we wanted to try something new from the boiling crab… in short we didn’t want to compare to the boiling crab just wanted to try a new seafood restaurant. I was soooo disappointed with the service and food. We were the only ones there when we went and the food was under cooked. The food wasn’t even great… it was«ok» but the waitress took 15 minutes just understanding and taking down our order. Not only that I’m a person that believes that a restroom said a lot about an establishment. I was soooo disgusted with the restroom that I asked for the check immediately without finishing our food. Females just FYI it’s a unisex restroom so you will experience the same smell and disgusting experience I had. Will definitely not come here again!

Let’s start by saying the feeling I got when i walked in with my family was strange and my bi polar kicked in big time… Felt like I walked into a purple rain back throw concert from the 80s no windows whatsoever so now I’m feeling claustrophobic. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress that actually looked surprised to see us on a dinner Saturday hour but nice and she walked us to these cool disco velvet seats. As she walked away my family and I looked at each other and made a run to the door before the nice waitress returned, we got in our car locked the doors and drove across street to another spot. I will stop there so I won’t begin to exaggerate at this point!

Don’t eat here if you’re looking for a boiling crab experience. While I didn’t particularly enjoy the food here it wasn’t as that bad. I went with my wife and in laws we ordered shrimp, clams, and muscles, as well as the«Cajun» fries. My wife, who’s is Cantonese, told me that the place seems to be catered to people from Northern China as the sauce has a little Mala(the spicy that makes your mouth numb) in it. I personally thought it was lacking in flavor, especially as I was thinking it would be along the lines of boiling crab. I had to peel my shrimp then dredge them through the sauce before I could really taste it. I think they took people complaining about undercooked shrimp a little too seriously as the shrimp we got were a little over done and hard to peel. I actually thought the service was rather good but my wife speak Chinese which helped a lot. She told me that when she originally tried talking to the girl in English she was going to call someone else to take our order as she couldn’t understand us. All in all I didn’t really like the food too much but my father in law did. I thought it was slightly less average and would only give it 2.5 stars if I could.

Not sure really what to write here. I came here a few weeks after opening, so I will grant them that. But I came in at 5 on a Saturday. They did not have lobster? Really? I thought that was the name of the restaurant. Okay, how about crab? Sorry, all out? Okay, bring me a beer and let me think. Sorry, we do not have our liquor license yet. Okay, I will take a coke. It came out in a styrofoam cup. This place looks awesome on the outside, but painted dark blue/purple on the inside. Looks like it was painted/designed by a DIYer with no experience. Then they had a bunch of very unattractive waitresses dressed all skanky like this was some kind of weird Maid Café out in BFE. Come on, I really don’t want to see that, nor does my wife or 11yo daughter. Put some pictures of the girls on the windows so we know exactly what we are walking into. Or maybe a name change to Skimpy Shrimp. Please, a little warning would have helped. Please save yourselves, there is a well established place right across the street that never ceases to please. Seriously, if you are going to open right across the street from an already well established place, you better bring your A game. Cheaper prices? No. Larger helpings? No.

AVOID. Simply horrible. Tasteless food, awkward décor/ambiance and lousy service. The Chinese Mandarin that was there before was a million times better. Never again.

I had high expectations since I love boiling crab. The decorations were kind of tacky and the restaurant is quote small itself. The waiters were alright, but not very happy or seem very kind. The food did not taste good to me. I ordered the shrimp and Their sauce does not taste good and their fries had very little flavor to them! I know I’m comparing them to boiLing crab a lot but even if I have never tried boiling crab, the sauce is just not good and it smells a little funky too. Would not recommend, just go to boiLing crab even though it’s a long wait.

First time here today, brought my wife and kids around 430 pm. Restaurant only one other person dining, so we were sat immediately. Inside was set up with pretty relaxed setting, same concept at boiling crab. The service was on point and very good thanks to Yesenia our server. She sat us down, asked if we were first timers, explained the menu and specials to us. She checked on us numerous times and I didn’t have to ask her for one refill as she was on it. Now the food, the fries in my opinion were better than Boiling Crab and near by local Oh’Crab. The shrimp were jumbo shrimp and we’re good but the seasoning(we had house) could be somewhat stronger. In no way was the food bad though, it was above average but could be better if shrimp were seasoned stronger. Overall this place was four stars due the the setting, service, and lastly food. The kids and wife were all pleased. Thanks Boiling Lobster Staff.

Ok. This place is not horribly bad. It’s definitely not boiling crab but the food is decent. I was particularly worried about the shrimp because a lot of reviews said they were undercooked. I’m pregnant so undercooked shrimp is a grave concern! Soooooo. It was explained to us that on a busy night, there have been times when the chef would pull the shrimp out too early because they needed to get to the tables as soon as possible. My husband and I were shocked because that wasn’t a really good reason to serve undercooked seafood. We did come in on a very slow day… Meaning we were the only customers there and the service was great! No issues. Good came out pretty good and enjoyed the meal. I wasn’t a fan of their french fries tho. We ordered a few things like their crispy chicken, chicken fingers, sweet potato fries and a free pound of shrimp for ordering things over $ 30. Again. Food was decent. Not horrible. Worth a try and they have a karaōke

I would give this no stars if I could So overpriced and what kind of service is this. Flagging down servers took longer than my meal. Only good thing is oysters but that’s not work a terrible restaurant experience. Just go to ocrab across the street much more worth it and friendly service. Ask for Drew there he will take care of you

DON’T YOUDAREEATWITHOUT UnilocalINGFIRST! So this location used to be my wife’s favorite Chinese restaurant. She was disappointed when they left and she has not found another to replace the old Chinese restaurant. We do love to go across the street to Oh Crab so when we started to see the Boiling Lobster sign go up, it piqued our interest. Yesterday, my daughter and wife decided it was time to go and we did. At this point, I should say that I have 130 + Reviews and I only have two 1 Star Restaurant Reviews and neither one of those is left. This place will be gone soon too! It is the worst eating experience I have had in many years. As a Unilocal fan, I should have checked the reviews first; I would have seen that this restaurant has 71-Star ratings out of 11! As I walked in, there are two cute Asian waitresses in tiny mini skirts and I am thinking, not bad. I may like this place. We sat down and noticed that the prices were just a little higher than place across the street [Oh Crab] but we ordered two pounds of shrimp [one was free if you ordered more than $ 30], a pound of clams, sausage, corn and potatoes in the shrimp. We also ordered some garlic bread and garlic fries. So we get our clams first and they are sandy. No way they cleaned these very well. Also, the sauce is more liquidy than their competitors and it doesn’t stick to the clams like the other places. The sauce is nowhere near as good as the others we have tasted. While we are discussing this my daughter bites into something disgusting in the clams and now the girls wont touch them. I have them move onto the shrimp while I take on these clams [can’t let them go to waste] but they are gross and I leave about a 1⁄3 of the bag and move onto the shrimp like my wife and daughter. My wife starts to question the shrimp and whether they are cooked all the way. I blow her off but after a couple of shrimp I am not sure anymore. I had food poisoning once from ill-prepared lobster and don’t want to experience that ever again. My wife and daughter have stopped eating the shrimp now and are working on the fries which they did not screw up. I continue on the shrimp but I am nervous about it when the waitress brings out the garlic bread. I BITEINTOITANDREALIZEITISUNCOOKEDONTHESURFACE. Its hard to explain but they seemed to toast the bread with garlic butter sauce then put a huge glop of the garlic butter on the toast and brought it out. ITWASSOOVER-POWERING that I was shocked! I told the waitress, you have to cook this in and she just said«I will take it off the bill?. My daughter is making us laugh by asking us if we can go across the street and tell the people at Oh Crab that we will never cheat on them again. The couple at the table next us start to complain too when we are drowned by the loud, and I mean loud Karaōke that is coming out of one of the rooms. If the door open, your conversation was instantly over. Some people like Oh Crab some like Boiling Crab; what everyone agrees is that no one likes the food here at the Boiling Lobster!!!

This another imitation boiling crab. Ordered shrimp, clams and oysters. Oysters were not coming off the shell right, like if it wasnt properly shucked. Also they were part icy. Their house sauce is less tasting and a bit more spicy than boiling crab ‘s whole shabang sauce. The waitresses remind me of Jurassic restaurant, similar outfits, age and mandarin speaking.

Where do I begin… It didn’t even feel like we were in a restaurant. From the outside, you are like. wow looks nice, then you walk in and are greeted with PURPLE… everywhere. seriously, who puts in velvet seat benches at this type of restaurant. The cashier station is half of the restaurant. And, what is up with their outfits? Were they going for skimpy or skanky? Your guess is as good as mine. I guess on to the food. We ordered 2lbs of shrimp, 4 lbs of crawfish, fried oysters, chicken tenders(for the kids), their house soup, and fries. The shrimp were ok, didn’t taste fresh, and boy do they love their chili oil. We ordered mild and you would of thought we ordered nuclear. The garlic. there was minced garlic everywhere. Anyone eating here is sure to have lots of gas later on. The crawfish were so small. Barely any meat. And again, with chili oil. What gives? We ordered mild, not scorcher. The fried oysters had a, dare I say, musky taste to it? Just aweful. Fries were ok. The chicken tenders were burned. Yuck! The house soup? Tasted like you were drinking lava. Nothing but some seafood, cabbage and some sausage boiled. They serve it in these flimsy styrofoam bowls that feel like they will break on you. The service? Non existent. Poor english, didn’t understand our order. She had to come back to our table a couple times to double check what we ordered. The waitress was pretty nosy too. She had saw that I had Unilocal open on my phone. I was looking for a decent dessert place to go afterwards, but she got all paranoid and asked if there were any issues and why I was looking at Unilocal. Why are you being nosy in the first place? We paid our bill and bid farewell. This place won’t last long if they don’t change things. Do yourself a favor, go across the street to the competitors restaurant. You’ll thank you me later.

Do yourself a favor and do NOT come here. This place is so unprofessional and you can see that this place was not well thought out. There are no open windows and they have bright blue walls with light purple booths and the layout of the«restaurant» seems so clustered. The waitresses wear mini skirts and they play loud club music. I’m not sure what vibe they’re trying to set. Nextly, the shrimp we ordered wasn’t even fully cooked. so we sent that back. The other bag we got seemed to be cooked better than the other one but the sauce was so… bland. sauce was flavorless. so we told the waitress we wanted to cancel the other uncooked shrimp but she refused to let us send it back, stating«I give you discount» well… we get our check later and the discount was 10% off the one pound of shrimp that wasn’t fully cooked…$ 1 off after refusing to let us send it back lastly, they hand wrote things on a guest check and when we asked for a receipt she handwrote in on a blank sheet of notebook paper… she also stated they accept cash only(which is fine, but might be something you want to notify patrons of BEFOREHAND, not after the meal). This place is very unorganized from the foh staff(not very friendly/did not seem to speak english very well) to the cooks(shrimp not fully cooked/bland sauce), to the cluttered interior. overall typical money hungry«investors» with no idea on how to operate a restaurant/treat guests right. Will never return. The one star is for being open late(til 1am)

One of the new place to go for Cajun style seafood. We were there on there soft opening. We start with 1lb of crawfish, clams each, one dozen of oyster and grilled beef short ribs. Everything came out so fast, and very delicious, fresh and hot. So we order an other lb of crawfish and one dungeness crab. I personally loves the crawfish here, could tell it’s very fresh. Specially recommend with lemon pepper sauce. It could taste the freshest of the seafood, and with mild sauce after. So the seafood favor are totally cover up by the sauce favor. But if you like the garlic go for the house special. Service were great, waitress are very friendly and cute. And they had 5VIP rooms with karaōke in it. Very private and great for party or company dinning. Highly recommended this place. Definitely plan to come back here soon, to try more things here.

Went there for soft opening. Everything there is great. I understand their service might be slow, but it’s understandable. I usually just focused on their food when they just started. We ordered the clams, 1lb of shrimps, corns and sausages. Everything were delicious! you can really taste the shrimps & the clams are very fresh. They are better than Oh Crab. I will definitely come back again!
