My family of 4 has been with Dr Katy for over 20 years now. Had my implant done with them with great results. My 8 year old and 5 year old are cavity free. No cavities!!! Can you believe it! George our hygienist is so informative and excellent with kids. My kids love Dr Katy and George. They Call us to remind us on our appointment because you know life gets busy and they accommodates schedules for any emergency. Overall a excellent family practice where people comes first. Thank you Concourse dental for taking care of me and my precious little ones.

Just FYI, «Family Dentistry» is actually connected to Concourse Dental, which is nearby, on Gale. Ave. Depending what day you have an appointment, your dental work will be done in one of the 2 locations.(Monday-Thursdays @ Concourse Dental, Fridays @ Family Dentistry) *note: this review has been edited and re-edited because I was much more upset earlier… years later, I will not forget my experience and I am still upset at the permanent and unnecessary dental damage I will have for the rest of my life; this is the nicest and most objective review I have managed* In the past, I would have said this is the best dentist I’ve had. Now, I’d give it 0 Stars if I could. I’d gone to this dentist for a few years and I decided that I really liked the husband and wife team — George and Tina. Tina is the dentist and George is the hygienist. I liked George because he’s a cheerful guy and he always has a relaxed, but upbeat attitude & he always makes me laugh during cleanings. I liked Tina because her work was very thorough and careful, and she is gentle(with small hands). Over time, I’d returned for my routine cleanings and things were fine, until the last time I made a visit — back in June 09, I got my cleaning and returned the following week because my teeth were sensitive. That’s when everything went wrong. I was assigned a different dentist. What was her name; now I can’t remember. All I remember is that it was a Chinese-translated to English name; she was a woman, and she was clumsy. During the cleaning, she began by poking around my mouth with the pick-instrument and immediately claimed to have found a small cavity and decided that she would fill it that day. I found this strange because usually, they 1) take X-rays first, and 2) schedule another appt for additional work, but I went with it, stupidly trusting her solely because she’s a dentist. She Novacaine’d me, then continued poking around and found«another small cavity“in an adjacent tooth and insisted that she would take care of that, too, since she was«already in there». I’ll try to condense it from here. In short, I was furious with my experience: 1) She drilled carelessly, and excessively. I have never had a dentist drill through one tooth to another. My eyes welled up and I told her I was in pain. Rather than continue gently, she decided that I needed more Novacaine, so she injected me yet again. 2) When she was filling my 2 «small» cavities, both she & the assistant set instruments on my chest as if I were a table. 3) At one point, she was holding my head down to drill into my teeth, I was confused because I thought this was a SMALL cavity, so why was there so much drilling?! As she worked, she held one instrument in my mouth while she looked elsewhere for other instruments. She began to fill the cavity and she was looking away at times; not sure if it was because she didn’t want to look at the light, or if she wasn’t paying attention. 4) During the whole process, her heavily made-up assistant could barely keep her eyes open. She was holding the saliva suction devise and LITERALLY nodding off. Needless to say, the device kept coming out of my mouth. What a nightmare! I mean, literally, this is why people HATE dentists. This experience is exactly the over-exaggerated fear that people have when they are young… except that everything actually happened. I left the office tearfully but silently because the waiting room was filled with children, parents, and other patrons, and I did not want to make a scene by complaining in front of them all, esp since I know that not all the dentists are awful — just her! Soon after I left, I called the office, asked to speak to George and told him everything. He said he would talk to the dentist that worked on me. I think she deserves more than just a talking-to, but of course that’s up to them what they do with her. I never returned to this dentistry, and didn’t go to ANY dentist for a year after because I was so traumatized. I’m not sure how the business is doing now. I almost filed a malpractice lawsuit… Meanwhile, this dentist continues to send me «cleaning reminder» postcards. As you may have guessed, I haven’t had a change of heart. I felt so stupid because I trusted this strange woman solely on the fact that she was certified, but never again will I go against my instincts or take that sh*t layin down. =( As for her, I still have some ugly words but that was another edit.
