What happened to Larry’s Deli. Did they go out of business? Best hoagies EVER!

Breakfast sandwiches are banging. We grabbed a sausage, egg, and cheese and a pork roll, egg, and cheese, both on a Kaiser roll. They were absolutely delicious. The egg was nice and thin with meat and cheese layered between forming a glorious stacked sandwich that rivals my favorite NYC deli breakfast sandwiches. And I was walking by before 9, and the kind gentleman inside gladly served the sandwiches before his shop was suppose to be open! That’s service. I’m definitely looking forward to eating here again.

Love Larry’s! Best hoagies and cheese steaks without driving to Philly. Plus his salads are great so try the hoagie salad if you are trying to avoid the carbs! Everything is fresh and delicious.

I work for the local Starbucks on the corner from larrys. It’s a shame for the people who are saying they will never eat there or have a hoagie again, I enjoy their food! When I’m not able to leave to get something the blonde girl from the deli will walk me my order over to my work for free. I’ve had hot sandwiches and cold, they were both amazing! The bread is from del buonos on the black horse pike baked and delivered fresh every day so yea a few of the rolls are soft, but id rather that than a stale old falling apart roll. And what’s a turkey hoagie without American cheese?! No offense but that’s the only way I’ve ever known a turkey hoagie but you can alway ask for a special request because they do have quite a selection on their cheeses! I say you all give them another chance over there, because they do deserve It!

We have had hot and cold sandwiches and hoagies. Everything was delicious. The hoagie rolls are fresh and soft. They even have gluten free bread for sandwiches. And who could beat the prices?

I waited a while to visit them for them to get their act together. Every place has«opening pains». The setup is a cashier in a very narrow«foyer» when you first walk in. This is also where your order. The rest of the area is booths and tables. The prep area is hidden«in the back». They have a variety of «deli» items. Hoagies, hot sandwiches, Cheesesteaks, salads etc. I ordered a turkey hoagie. It was 1 pound, 2.5 oz(525 grams) and 12″ long. They advertise that they use D&W meat, so I wasn’t worried that it would be that rubbery slimy crap you get at WilJax. It was decent turkey. The hoagie came with American cheese. The menu said nothing about cheese. I would have asked for pepper jack or provolone if it did. It had the expected shredded iceberg, onions, and tomatoes. The tomatoes were decent(it’s July right now). The bread is that squishy WASPy crap that the DiVello’s tax cheating deli had. The counter girl couldn’t tell me where it was from. I’d guess Aversa’s bakery. It would be OK for a cheesesteak, but not for a hoagie. They didn’t have seeded bread either. It was edible, but IMHO the bread makes or breaks a hoagie.(It’s also why I don’t get Wawa hoagies). Weirdness: they put just oil on it but no red vinegar. Who does that? And the oil wasn’t olive oil. The poor girl at the counter was running around working her butt off. She took orders, waited tables, checked people out, and ran back and forth to the prep area. She earns her money. They need more people for the rush hours. I waited 25 minutes for my hoagie. In the narrow foyers with several other guys waiting(all the tables had diners). There is no «waiting area». I was very tired at the end and it was a bit stuffy. Pros: $ 5.99 lunch price for hoagies. $ 7.99 otherwise. Decent amount of meat. Turkey wasn’t cheap mystery meat. Cons: They need to hire more people for the lunch rush. Cramped waiting area. They don’t have Utz. Nor do they have Herr’s. Nor any other of south PA’s terrific chip producer’s products. It’s Lay’s overly salted Texas junk. The hoagie bread. Parking if you don’t walk there. Verdict? I’ll call ahead next time and order a hot sandwich or cheesesteak and let you know. I won’t get another hoagie.

I had a 50% off coupon so I figured I’d give it a try. I was greeted by Larry the owner I ordered the Italian special with roasted was $ 8.56 with tax, plus ½ off with the coupon it was about $ 4.55,a little less classic salad on a roll on special at was better then wawa BUT not worth almost $ 9.00! Larry’s meats were better then wawa, but I found them stingy with the meat and if I’m correct, it was a little smaller then a 12 inch. Lunch time he runs a special for Any Hoagie $ 6.00. With the coupon it was ok, but not worth the full price. its was OK, but not worth going out of the way.
