One of the best selections in the area, despite not being very large. I was quite skeptical from the exterior until someone bought me some fantastic obscure beers, like a Cascade Blueberry and a Mikkeller/Hill Farmstead/Siren collaboration. When I went in myself to explore, the workers were incredibly friendly and helpful. These guys really knew their stuff and were passionate about good beer. I’ll definitely make this my go to spot!

Thus place is awesome! I stopped in after work this week to grab a bottle of wine for our steak dinner. I was immediately greeted upon walking in. The gentleman who welcomed me into the store also was running a wine tasting. Super convenient since I just got out of work. Had a great conversation with him, Josh I believe was his name. He had several wines available to try and gave me great advice on how to get my fiancé to like wine more. The store is a little tight because they have so much available but their prices are the same as any in the area. I’ll certainly go back!

I liked Four Seasons until they sold me a «Mystery 6-Pack» which had an Odoull’s non-alcoholic beer in it. I returned to the store and expressed my frustration over being sold a non-alcoholic beer in a pack that was supposed to be, well you know, beers. I was eventually given a new beer(a Keystone Light… gee thanks) but only after arguing with a condescending manager who said«beer is beer», despite the fact that the mystery 6 pack is advertised as being a 6 pack of actual alcoholic beers. I have not and will not ever go back.

been in several times. decent selection of beer, usually pretty nice, hip staff. well, that perception came to an end. One of the guy’s working there was pleasant enough when I dealt with them. When he was answering one of my friend’s questions about an item, his tone would probably be described as a bit condescending/dismissive. My friend’s a docile guy– and the guy working there seemed nice enough up to that point. You could tell that the communication was failing, and that the worker should have realized my buddy was a bit tiffed. My buddy said he wanted to leave, that he had enough of the guy. Putting a six pack back, something fell in the cooler. The four seasons worker said it didn’t break, but made a little bit of an obnoxious comment(their coolers are a bit cluttered, with a lot of almost-empty six packs from the make-your-own six pack deal they have). The abrasiveness got to my buddy. He asked the guy«do you always treat your customers like shit?» The worker started yelling«Get the fuck out» loudly and repeatedly. I stepped in, told the guy he was overreacting. He admitted that may be the case. Then I said«you’ve been a bit rude to my friend here. you’re outta line.» Asked for the manager’s name and number, the tempermental worker’s name and age(he wasn’t acting like an adult), and for an apology. He repeatedly refused all, cowering all the while. Words were exchanged, it was pretty heated. The other store worker just told us to go. And we did. Seems there’s some adverse selection going on there? I spoke with the owner the next day, and he was apologetic, and would address it with the kid. Not going back, however. Seems they don’t have things together over there. Russel’s and Spirit house are just down the road, with good selection and no BS.

I am usually a forgiving person. hell, we all have bad days, and I like to think if I came off as rude one time a costumer would return to find that I am, in fact, a great person who enjoys servicing people(lol, wut?). However, I am so grossly offended by the attitude of the owners here that they are the sole establishment on my «never ever ever ever go even if they are giving out free tacos» list. It was all good at first. Me and a group of friends showed up late saturday night(8ish) after going to the Dunlins next door. The guys working that night were friendly, informative and make me want to come back even though I was just browsing(I ended up buying a nip). Well, I was certain I have found my favorite liquor store in the area. I had several reasons to shop four seasons. Then a friday afternoon happened. Me and another friend, after going to said dunkins decided to check out a beer special they advertised in the collegian the day before. Upon entering, I noticed the mood was completely different from my previous encounter. Instead of friendly informative guys, it was 2 old bitter men. When walking around, trying to find the 12 pack we were looking for we were bombarded with dirty looks. Finally, after not being able to find what we were looking for, I went in line so I could ask those working there where the stuff was. Well after waiting in line, and seeing these men charm the middle age locals, I went up to guy one and asked about the deal we were looking for. Upon seeing me he demanded me and my friend’s ID’s, which I have no problem with, except his tone was deplorable, the type saved for a convict, not a potential paying customer. After reiterating I was just trying to see if what we were looking for was still on sale, he very dismissively told me it was no longer on sale, yet continued to go grab the beer we wanted. I attempted to tell him that if the beer was not on sale, I didn’t really want it. Upon this, he broke the inconstant eye contact we had, threw your ID’s at us(didn’t hand, just briskly slid them) and dismissively yelled next. Ok 2 things. If you are going to advertise a price on thursday, and not have it Friday, maybe you should mention that in the god damn ad! Secondly, if you are going to treat the college kids like shit, why are you advertising in the college newspaper? I know there is a certain large percentage of college kids that are absolute assholes, and probably broke something and left or something of the sort, but I am not a mindless drone. I’m not going to be treated like shit and still come to your store because I’m to dumb to be treated well. There are many places to get booze in the area, and you are not special. How shortsighted can you be to treat two good mannered kids like shit in front of a line of townies? You want street cred? It sickens me their attitude. My friend swore to never return, and so did I, but I decided that, perhaps, they were having a bad day and were unaware of how rude they were to us. Thus, I returned on a sunday morning to grab a 6 pack with a different friend. Same attitude, not on the level of outright rudeness, but I could tell then and there that these were not isolated incidents. 4 seasons hates kids apparently. Well my friends, the feeling is mutual. Me, or any of my friends, parents, parent’s friends etc) will NEVER step in your store again. I hope you’re satisfied. (ps, night workers. Go somewhere else, I loved you guys and actually made me want to give this place 2 stars in spite of the owners. Sadly, I know my money is going to them, and I can’t support their behavior. If hitler ran taco bell, I couldn’t eat there, despite how much I love it)

NEVERSHOPHERE. My friend and I noticed an ad in the UMass Daily Collegian on a Thursday for a sale on 12-packs of Sierra Nevada. When we asked about the sale the very next day, we were told that it was no longer on sale. When we decided that we didn’t want the 12-packs if they weren’t on sale and were going to look around something else, we had our IDs thrown back at us with an angry«Fine.» Needless to say, we left and went to Liquors 44 instead. The very next week in the same ad was ran in the Collegian that 12-packs of Sierra Nevada were on sale. I don’t know what the business practices of this liquor store are, but the rudeness was enough so that I will never shop there again. Seriously, if you want the cheapest prices they can probably be found at Liquors 44 and if you want good service and advice, go to Russell’s in Amherst Center.

If it’s alcohol or tobacco related, they have it. They get a whole lot of inventory in the space the have. We had a dessert wine once at Carmelina’s and when we asked the waiter where we could find it he said this was the only place we could get it. When you walk in your always greeted nicely and they always ask(in a good way) if you need any help finding anything. I don’t smoke but the cigars always make look great and make me want to try them.
