Competitive prices. Fresh steamed crabs. As first-time buyer got the 5 dollars discount at dozen male crabs. Highly recommended for pay and go!

FROMTHEMARYLANDNATURALRESOURCESPOLICE… A Hagerstown seafood retailer is scheduled to appear in Washington District Court on Sept. 17 after receiving a citation from NRP selling undersized crabs. On July 10, a NRP officer conducted an inspection at Cameron’s Seafood on Dual Highway. Two bushels of crabs exceeded the legal limit of five undersized crabs. One contained 17 undersized crabs, the other contained seven. Hussein Kato Katende, 39, of Columbia, the manager of the shop, was given a citation and a warning. Last year, he was twice cited for selling undersized crabs and was fine $ 400. If found guilty this time, the maximum fine is $ 1,000. What else is being sold there that might be illegal or misrepresented?

I am so disappointed that this vendor is still allowed to sell seafood in my community. Cameron’s has been cited and fined by DNR multiple times for selling undersized crabs. The Bay is a precious resource and a cherished part of our state. The crabbing industry is a pillar of Maryland’s economy, but we cannot exploit our resources and sell illegal crabs for the sake of a quick buck. Sustainability is critical for the health of our bay, our crabs, and our economy. Shame on Cameron’s for knowingly selling baby crabs. I will happily pay market price elsewhere to protect The Chesapeake from vendors like Cameron’s.

They have a sliding price scale depending on the day of the week and that is okay I guess. # 1 males priced at $ 35 they have ads in the paper for a discounted price of $ 22 a dozen, petty good price. I got a dozen # 1 males, the first six out of the bag were good size… the bottom of the bag was very disappointing. 5 inch crabs are NOT # 1 size. Figured out how they sell # 1 males at $ 22…they don’t. As the other review said… check your bag before you leave. Disappointed in having them pull that on me. There are plenty of other places for crabs nearby, I will look for one I know I can trust to sell me what I ordered

This place is hit or miss. We have bought crabs twice. We bought #1 males both times. The first time they were excellent… nice and full and well seasoned. The second time they were small and very mushy like they had been sitting in water all day. We brought 9⁄12 back to them and they did refund our money. Make sure you check the crabs before you leave.

Don’t be turned off by the servers initially brash attitude. The food is superb and well priced time and time again.
