Pros. Food warm, tasty, strong resemblance to Chinese food. Wonton soup loaded with wontons. Pepper steak has good quantity of meat and well cooked peppers and onions. Sauce good too. Cons. Hard to order over counter. Owners kids like fancy cars, especially if drive by girls. They shout happily about what they saw. Wontons sturdy little things. Knife required. Shrimp rolls actually either have really shrimpy shrimp pieces or they ran away. 2 rolls no evidence of shrimp in either but lots of green leafy stuff and dough. Beats Florida Chinese food so give it a try if passing through. If staying keep looking and park in upper lot. Spiral staircase not a winner to walk up when wet.

Ordered a quick sushi lunch from here… California roll, spicy tuna roll and seaweed salad. Sushi was surprisingly tasty, but could have been a bit colder. Seaweed salad was spot on! Good little restaurant for Hagerstown.

Below average chinese place. The general tso’s chicken was not even close to being as good as literally every other chinese place i’ve ever eaten at. Not sure how they managed to screw that up. I asked for broccoli and they gave me two miniscule pieces. Even the rice seemed sort of dry and old. The spring roll was ok. Also, they were snippy on the phone, definitely will not be returning.

This place was a hidden gem when I moved here. I would get to-go every few months or so. I don’t know what’s changed, but today and last month, I called in several orders, and they were botched. I’m not sure how Kung Pao and Sesame Chicken are not understandable words, and I end up with some mystery dish or how my shrimp lo-mein that I ordered tonight turned into shrimp fried rice(!!!), but sorry Hong Kong Express, you have lost a customer. I shouldn’t have to tell you to learn to repeat the orders… Most pitiful part about all of this is when I picked up my food and said what I ordered, they started speaking in their foreign language and probably KNEW they messed up my order, but didn’t want to mention it. Ridiculous. Time to try China Gourmet.

Giving this roadside greasy spoon five stars for the fried eggplant alone. Throw in the authentic Chinese atmosphere: kids doing homework in the restaurant; acerbic customer service; restroom used for storage — and it’s definitely worth a stop.

Roasted pork is always sliced fresh for your dish and delicious. Not a fan of their regular general tsos chicken — too fatty — however the vegetarian general tsos with chik’n is amazing!!! Quick delivery, amazing lunch special for the price.

The fried rice is somewhat good here. That’s the only reason why I order from this place.

I usually go to China Gourmet by Aldi. Tried this place based on the reviews. It was meh. I think I’ll stick to China Gourmet. Bigger portions and the chicken isn’t so rubbery. Food was more flavored there too.

Great food for a good price, however the woman on the phone was really snobby and if it wasn’t for the fact we ate there before, we probably would have cancelled the order. But 1 bad egg didn’t ruin our dinner!

They have the best crab Rangoon in town… The rest of their food is good, not amazing but worth a try

I’m amazed at the speed these people get your food to the table! I’m a vegetarian and love the imitation meat products they have on their menu as well as the tofu. Flavors of their dishes are pretty on point and this makes for a great place to stop in for a quick lunch.
