Pretty good spot we happened to find. I ordered the chicken spinach with mozzarella sandwich. It came with fries and a pickle. Others in the group ordered veggie flatbreads and chicken flatbreads which looked really great as well. Inside seemed very casual and it seems as though this is a town pub spot for a more older crowd. Looked like regulars were there and the place was basically empty. It was a rainy, foggy night out but it was a Saturday night and I was surprised this place wasn’t packed. Service was pretty quick and waiter was patient while we decided on our order.

Tiny little bar. Jukebox music. Moderately priced drinks. Adequate parking. The bar tender was nice, and attentive. If my sister dragged me back, I wouldn’t mind going back.

I am a kid but I’ve been eating there for nine years my dad has been for over 20 years it has the best food I’ve ever tasted I don’t think the place looks dirty either the only part is that is dirty is the bathroom there’s a lot of «writing» there in the bathroom but everything is great if you go there get the honey garlic mild wings they may not sound good but they are fantastic last time I ordered them which was Monday I think they got my order Wong for the wings they tasted weird so if you go there and say that those wings aren’t good please tell me because I will know that they probably changed the recipe for the wings so if you go there and get the wings and there not good tell me so I don’t order them again

Went here tonight and it didn’t seem like anyone knew what was going on. My Caprese sauce was missing the sun dried tomatoes and they were out of practically all their alcohol! I asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio, they didn’t have it, Cabernet, they didn’t have it. The waitress said the only wine they had was White Zinfandel… blech!!! Anyway… only beer on tap was Bud, the Coors light tap wasn’t working. The place is filthy. It needs a serious cleaning and makeover. I don’t know if I will return.

I’ve been eating here for 15 years. The only thing keeping them from 5 stars is the eat in area. It’s been the same forever, not bad for a pub but not great. But that shouldn’t detract from the food. It is excellent! I recently ate the mussels in white sauce and eggplant parm. I love dipping crusty bread into their white wine sauce, it’s the best I’ve had. Their food is very consistently high quality and delicious. Their garden salads are excellent and I hope they never change them. I love the olives, cheese and peppers in them. As far as I can tell, the same people have owned it forever and they are really great.

Stopped in there for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Perky bartender was doing her best with the few people at the bar, and waiting on 3 – 4 tables in the dining room. They now have only 3 draft beers on tap, the usual mass-produced swill. I asked for a good bottle of IPA and they had none. Number Nine tasted old. Previously, they always had a craft beer or two on tap, Guiness and a whole slew of craft bottles, at an affordable $ 4 a pop. What happened? My chicken steak was excellent, I asked for a container of buffalo wing sauce to dip. Fries were plentiful and crispy. Too bad that the kitchen food outshines the beer selection. How about throwing a few dollars at the place and replace the front door and mens room door, both had holes punched in them. The place looks a lot worse than my last visit. The closing(again) of Marne Hwy is really hurting this establishment. I hope it survives the county’s folly. Dunleavy’s and Otts have far better beer selection.

I love this place. I started going there when I was 21 and the food was amazing and cheap drinks. It looks like a regular bar but the food is always awesome. Now I’m 33 and a mom. Ordering takeout from here on a busy weeknight can be a lifesaver. The good taste like home cooked and eee delivery is far. My favorite is chicken Oscar which has crabmeat, cream sauce, mozzarella and asparagus over chicken it’s heavenly. My man loves the mussels marinara and crab bisque. Yum. I actually had takeout from them tonight which made me think of doing this review.

Don’t know what happened. This used to be my favorite dive bar with good food and great drinks. But lately the food has been lousy and the drinks are worse. Beer is not cold. And last two visits they were out of Jack Daniels. Went there on Mexican night and food was cold after waiting long time to get it.

One of the best dive bars in Burlington County. Don’t let the appearance fool you, they have the best bar food period. It’s more like a full restaurant menu in a bar the dinning area is small and sure to be packed on a Saturday night. Their food is truly excellent from their steaks to their Italian dishes. Their mussels have been praised for many years. Well priced drinks and food. The crowd is the best part if you like to people watch. Never know what you’ll walk in on. Sometimes it’s the super ghetto crowd usually towards the 1st of the month. Other times it’s the backwoods hillbillies. It gets real interesting when both worlds collide.

Friends love the mussels here, so a group went last night. Definitely a divey bar with several tables for dining. We started with an appetizer plate that was pretty good with fries, jalapeño poppers, cheese sticks and chicken strips with dipping sauces. After that all 6 of us went in different directions. Since it was Mexican night one person had a chicken quesadilla with chips and salsa & said it was delicious. One had chicken francaise with pasta & loved it. The rest of us had mussels with our without pasta & with marinara, fra Diablo or white garlic sauce. They were plump & delicious. Some had beautiful side salads & I had fabulous chicken pastina soup. Garlic bread was served but was underwhelming. Service was excellent. I took one star off because the ladies restroom was reported to be pretty bad. That probably deserved 2 stars off. If I go there again & it is like that, it will be my last despite the great food. My daddy always said the kitchen and restroom are kept the same degree of clean.

Divey and delicious. Dark but warm atmosphere. Hang with the crowd and have the buffalo shrimp and a bottle of IPA.

This hole in the wall knows how to do food right. Great friendly service. Huge portions of quality food. I could have made a meal of the broccoli and spinach side with a loaf of bread. No frills décor. It looks like it hasn’t had a face lift since the 70s. But the food and drinks are top notch and very reasonably priced.

I’ve driven past Carollo’s a million times over the last 5 years and have never once had the desire to stop in — it’s about the seediest-looking place you can picture. However, it kept coming up with rave reviews on my Unilocal searches, so I decided to give it a shot for takeout. Boy, was that a great decision! The food is AMAZING and the portions are gigantic. Great value for what you pay. Only two complaints that are holding me back from a 5-star review: 1) describing the bar as a dive is a compliment. I am always extremely uncomfortable waiting for my food, bc the atmosphere is THAT seedy. As long as they offer takeout and delivery, you couldn’t pay me enough to eat there(the food is so good that I might reconsider if that was the only way to get it). 2) Apparently they don’t have a website, which is ridiculous. I found a picture of half of an old menu on a google search and I use that and other Unilocalers’ reviews to order. If you’re going to offer takeout and delivery, why on earth wouldn’t you have an online menu?

I love this place! For a dive bar, it has great atmosphere and crowd. The food is f’n unbelievable! You need to try everything in their menu. They have huge portions for those with a big appetite. The bartenders and staff are awesome. They’ll get you what you want and will always check up on you to make sure you’re taken care of. This is a great spot to go to and I suggest you stop by and experience it yourself.

The food is fantastic! Whether you’re in the mood for a simple cheesesteak, or something fancy — the plate they’ll put down in front of you is guaranteed delicious!!! Their seafood bisque is to die for, as is their Chicken Oscar. Even though the seating is tight and the place isn’t much to look at, we keep coming back again & again!

Just wanted to add one more positive review for Carollo’s. We dined there recently and had another great meal. I had another shrimp dish, the parmigiana, which had big, deep fried shrimp covered in mozzarella with side of red-sauced fettucine, along with a cup of crab bisque — both delicious and blissfully satisfying. My wife had the steamers and vegetable medley, which contained the whole garden in a very light sauce; excellent Our waitron was outstanding, constantly checking on us while also keeping an eye on the bar crowd. Okay, the jukebox is a little loud, but the food and service at Carollo’s will have you leaving with a big smile.

This has always been one of my favorite restaurants. Sure it’s divey and always full of local drunks who walk there, but their food is fantastic and affordable. The servers have always been friendly and efficient. I remember eating here on a particularly scorching summer day a few years back when the A/C was broken and I don’t believe they had the industrial-sized fan yet, but people stayed and sweated so they could get their Carollo’s food fix. The red wine was almost hot. The lack of ambiance IS the ambiance, and I doubt you’d be expecting anything fancy from the location, parking lot or building anyway. The dining area is small and fills up quickly, so I tend to roll in here on a weekday afternoon for lunch when I can. Their marinara is the best I’ve ever tasted and the poorly-named vegetable combination is the best appetizer to start with. I’ve brought the pickiest of friends and family members here and they have done nothing but rave about their meals.

You would think it was a dive bar or friends-only bar when you drive by, but Carollo’s has AWESOME Italian food. You get a great salad, garlic bread and entrée if you’re going Italian. It’s about 20 minutes away, but we stop in whenever we’re in the mood for good portions. I recommend the Gnocci! Few seats in the dining area, but it’s usually only 50% full anway.
