Best boutique beer and wine shop on the North Shore! The wine tasting was a great deal.

This is one of the few places one can find a reasonably good brew and its located on the North Shore! Upon entering you are transcended to the end of the rainbow looking gloriously at a huge pot of delicious beer. They carry many that I have not seen before at other gastropubs in town, which was refreshing. If you wish to enjoy your beer on premises, there are several cold ones. We grabbed a couple and headed out back where there are several tables over a graveled area. Upon finishing our beers, we asked if we could bring food and the gentleman said yes. We picked up our friends at Waimea Bay, got some good eats at one of the shrimp trucks and headed back. Again, we chose more beer and sat out back. As we began to enjoy our food, the same gentleman came out and requested we put our food away. He said that they are connected or have some deal with the eatery next door, Café Haleiwa. He added that it would not look good if we were eating«outside» food. A bit perturbed, we grudgingly put the food away, quickly finished our drinks and left. Needless to say, this put a bad taste in our mouths, especially since my husband and I specifically asked if we could bring our own food. Regardless, this place does rock if you are lover of good beer. They have wine too! Monthly tastings are on Saturdays for both beer and wine. They have a wine club; however, I am not too familiar with the perks of the wine club as I am strictly a beer lover. Of course, they have a beer club that you can join that provides you with a featured beer or beers each month and a discount on other purchases! Interestingly, they also have a small retail section along with a deli area that tends to be a hit and miss. Being the only place on the North Shore that has a vast variety of wine and beer, they definitely hold a nice niche in the market as opposed to those in town, which is starting to become oversaturated. Good place to stop after a morning session of surfing! Cheers

after reading reviews that said they do this, I stopped in and asked if I could order food from the café next door. the lady was super confused and said yes, it’s around to the left and pointed at the café. I tried to explain to her I meant eat it here, with a drink, and she told me «well all our tables are reservation only». there were several open tables out back. suffice to say I was disappointed and just left. she made me feel pretty foolish and wasn’t at all friendly about what im assuming was a misunderstanding.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place before! This is, in my opinion, one of the most successful local businesses in Haleiwa. It is connected with Café Haleiwa, an awesome BYOB breakfast and weekend dinner spot one door over. It has evolved throughout the past couple of years from part thrift shop and local clothing/jewelry store to a wine/beer shop that also specializes in cheeses! The cheese counter is a new addition so I haven’t really bought from it yet but I’ve been stopping here to browse the selection for a couple of years. They have an awesome selection of wines and craft beers. But by far the best parts of Bonzer Front are the wine club and the wine/beer tastings. The wine club gives you a wine every month as well as 10% off tastings and everything in the store. The wine and beer tastings are held on the back patio… a quaint location with twinkling lights and great ambiance! It is about $ 12 to get your glass but you are rewarded with heavy pours, a description of each beverage and snacks, such as cheese, fruit and nuts! Enjoy!

Very good selection of wines for sleepy Haleiwa. Pleasant staff, surprises to be found … quite a little gem.

Great local and(mostly) non-local artisan delicious beers and wine. Once a month(I think) they have a $ 12 beer tasting from 5−8ish, where they had a great bluegrass band playing outside on their back patio, and it seemed like all the local folks were out to enjoy great drinks, good music and the warm night air. And, it is affiliated with Café Haleiwa, which has great food Weds-Sat nights = they let you order from the café and bring it over to eat while enjoying the tasting party.

This place is great! We found this after moving up north and were amazed at what a great spot it is. Not only a great spot for good beers and wines, but also a fun hangout spot with an outdoor area to enjoy. PLUS they have wine tastings on the 2nd Saturday of the month and beer tastings on the 4th Saturday of the month. Definitely check this place out!

Great selection of classy hard alcohol, wines, & beers on the North Shore! They also had things you don’t see everyday — like Boont in cans! Good for gifts, or for just treating yourself to a nice bottle for vacation! My only gripe is that I wish it was bigger :)!

We stopped in this place while looking for Chocolate Gecko Espresso. It is located at the end of a row of shops and the entrance makes it seem tiny. There is a retail shop when you first walk in where they sell clothing and jewelry, but if you make your way to the back of the store, you’ll find what they’re known for on display. Bonzer Front sells specialty beers and wine. They also have hand rolled cigars, but the day we went, the cashier said they were in short supply due to a wine tasting and dinner event they held the night before. We ended up picking up a beer from Portland with 10%.can’t remember the name. To be honest, I’m no beer or wine aficionado, but I can say that the shopkeeper was very friendly and the inside was small and quaint. If you’re ever in the area, Bonzer Front is a nice, little shop with a variety of beers and wine from all over the world.

Such a hidden treasure of hidden treasures. Weird little selection of stock – when you come by to get some wine, why not pick up a new bikini? But it’s so quirky that you can’t help but fall in love. I went here with a member of the wine club and we had a fantastic wine tasting. The staff is so knowledgable and enthusiastic. The selection of wine is diverse, and its such a good way to find a new treasure. If you stumble by here, stay for a while.

Well… It’s kinda hard to rate a place that is incredibly hard to find first and when you do, it’s closed mid-week in the early afternoon! Major disappointed and not even sure if its worth trying to go back.

Stopped in here for beer and wine, and they had a great selection. The quantity was small, but the quality was very good. I would definitely recommend this place.

a little vino gem in the hood. how on heavens did it take me a year to discover this place? to my credit, it’s confusing to figure out what’s inside by looking at the outside. i believe they’re also associated with café haleiwa, but not sure how. all that aside, this place rocks the kasbah! their wine selection is just extensive and diverse enough. on my first trip, i went into the«special» wine room thinking that’s all there was. for everynight wine, the bottles were too steep for my liking, hovering around $ 30 or $ 40. then i discovered the more price-friendly selection by the register. they have about a dozen red and white options for under $ 20 that they change up regularly. they tend to get a lot of south american reds like malbecs, which i love. and don’t forget to check out the fridge to see what kind of craft beers they have in stock. they get the good stuff you can’t find at long’s or malama. they also sell some specialty clothes and accessories, but i haven’t spent much time outside of the wine area to know if they have anything worthwhile in that department.

We were a little skeptical of a wine shop in Haleiwa, but if I lived on that side I would be thanking God for this little gem of a shop! The beer and wine selection is great, especially for such a small space. Also, it seems like a cute place to just hang out drink coffee or chill in the back… Interesting store.

Normally I don’t wake up early for anything. But a trip to Haleiwa, I made an exception. Destination is Bonzer Front located in Haleiwa town. It’s a diverse boutique with a lot to offer. First, in the front of the house, it’s a trendy store for surfers and women’s fashions emphasizing on one of kind designs. Second towards the back, it’s a coffee, espresso, tea bar. Third, off to the side in the corner, it’s a ‘micro’ wine, beer, and spirits boutique. Fourth, outside, there’s a gravelled courtyard serving breakfast and lunch from Café Haleiwa(just two doors down). Just walking into the store, it blushes with personality and charm. Then having breakfast outside with the church choir rejoicing from next door and the chickens clucking really brought a sense of comfort and community. Bonzer Front gets thumbs up for being creative and resourceful business while offering great service. It’s been a while since my last visit to Haleiwa and I forgot how many dedicated small businesses are packed in this colorful town. Witnessing the grassroots lifestyle without big box retailers encroaching is so refreshing. The sun does shine a liitle brighter on the North Shore.

aka Meg’s Coffee Shop aka Café Haleiwa’s Patio Tim and I ended up here in a weird kinda way. Café Haleiwa next-door uses the back patio here as additional(or, if you prefer outdoor) seating. Your service/server is at Bonzer Front though. So, you get a 2 for 1 Unilocal Review… and a FTR in my case. Anyway, the service was great even though right after we sat down within like 5 minutes every patio table was full. Strange, ’cause when we got there it was empty. «Meg» handled it true Island Aloha Style and explained that she was unexpectedly swamped… that it was usually really slow and mellow on a weekday morning… she kept a smile and apologized several times for the slow service. Honestly, it wasn’t that slow, she did fine. I didn’t get a photo of the inside of the Coffee Shop here. It has what I’d call a Modern Island décor. Definitely invites you to sit down and enjoy your coffee right there. Looking back on it now it’s kinda obvious that the place is fairly new. So, if your in the mood for coffee and a muffin… check this place out. AND…here’s a cut-n-paste from the Bonzer Front website: Aloha! BONZERFRONT Oahu located in the heart of Haleiwa is a unique showroom dedicated to the surfing lifestyle’s creative core of hand-crafted surfboards, art, photography, and apparel. The Bonzer Front on-line store will feature cutting edge designs by the Campbell Brothers and a creative team of artist and photographers, resulting in a retail experience that shares the ‘Spirit and Truth of Surfing.’
