ATMOSPHERE: Exactly what you would expect for a small surf town brekkie restaurant. Homey, nothing fancy, rustic-y, surf art on the walls and such. SERVICE: I’ve only eaten here a couple of times(today being my second), but overall, I’ve never had bad service. The gals/servers are very kind and helpful. I think the only thing I would have to say that’s negative about their service is the speed. FOOD: I’m on the North Shore a lot. As in, almost every weekend. Living in town, I like to make the most of my day, so I’m usually already in the water come 7:30a. Naturally, I want to grind afterwards. I’ve tried a bunch of places and Café Haleiwa is the best! Since I’ve discovered it, it’s the only place I’ve been for brekkie. Now, don’t take that as me saying that the food is on point(did I just say ‘on point’ in a review) — it’s good, but it could be better. OVERALL: Like I said, since I’ve discovered it, it’s the only place I go and will go for breakfast when I’m on the North Shore.

Rude service… waitress thought we underpaid because she calculated wrong… and because she was wrong, she accused us of leaving too much money. Instead of apologizing, she gave us attitude for giving them a 20% tip… Never coming back.

Never go to this over priced coffee shop. They overcharge regular customers if you don’t tip them. The attitude of the workers is ONLY good if you tip for an over priced coffee. Sad day for kamaainas now days):

Great little place to stop in for brunch. Had the pancake breakfast, and was pleasantly surprised to find that they had real maple syrup! Most American cities don’t, so that was really nice. There’s parking around back.

I totally suggest this place as great for breakfast meal. when you get in and find several locals eat here you got this is the right place to get your Da Sumo meal. different choice among eggs benedict, omelette and wrap burritos. if you begun being healthier than the average american –no problem, got the veggie meal or granola yogurt fruits mixed in the bowl and the veggies get happy soon. Tried eggs benedict and it was juicy and tasty, my friend got granola yogurt and pancakes and actually was definetely fine. So thumb up and go grab your food dude.

Our food was good. Not bad. Nothing amazing. Service was fast and friendly. Floors and restaurant in general were very dirty which is part of why I’m giving this 3. A little clean up, and something a little extra special on their menu items that makes them stand out and this place would be A+.

Meh. Run-off-the-mill place with standard benedict, standard french toast, and standard everything. Certainly on the cheaper side, but also feels like that. Coffee is ok, though, and staff friendly enough. Would do again? If I’m hungry, sure. But I found better places on the island.

Loved this place for breakfast while staying at Turtle Bay on the North Shore. Located about 30 minutes away from the hotel in a little surfing town. I got the breakfast sandwich, subbed bacon for Canadian bacon and added avocado, amazing! The restaurant is a little small so arrive by 8 – 8:30 if you want quick seating on the weekends. Great staff and service!

What a find! Set in historic Haleiwa it’s not too far from the North Shore. Great place for breakfast but it can get busy pretty fast. My suggestion if you are driving from Waikiki, rent your car early and hit this place first before sight seeing. We snagged the last open table before people started lining up outside. I ordered the Portuguese sausage and eggs. It was vey good, see pic. The service was fast, so we didn’t have to wait long to eat. The fast service did not detract from the food quality. The atmosphere is the real deal if you are looking for something old Hawaii.

Standard breakfast fare. Generous portions. Service was very attentive with refilling coffee. The sweet bread French toast was probably the most unique thing on the menu.

Hawaii sure knows how to make pancakes! The banana pancakes were the most fluffiest I have ever had! These were the first I had on the island, so I did not realize most of the pancakes in Hawaii were this fluffy! I would never find this in the Mainland. My husband opted for the local breakfast, which consisted of choice of meat, scoop of rice, and 2 eggs. This was the first time we tried portuguese sausage, and we are hooked! SOGOOD! I would say the price is a bit steep here(almost $ 10 per plate) but I think that just might be a standard in Hawaii. It is well worth it because we had a great meal. The service was good too, though it was kind of loud when we went and it was hard to hear the waitress while she was taking our order.

Went for brunch on veterans day and snagged the last open table. The brunch menu covers the american basics eggs, pancakes. hash browns, with a little local flare(mahi-mahi, beans, etc.). My wife and I opted to share a mahi plate with a side of beans. It was good not great. The mahi was a little overcooked(a little dry). The sauteed veggies that came with it though were excellent. All in all it is not a place I will be rushing back to but if I’m in the area I might give them another shot.

This is a fun spot recommended to me by the folks at Paradise Air after I had taken a morning flight at the nearby airfield. When traveling I enjoy eating like a local, and this hit the spot. I had the local-style breakfast special, Portuguese sausage with eggs and rice. Basic, but satisfying. I made the mistake of ordering my eggs scrambled, as I missed out on mixing the yolk with the rice, which I suspect would’ve boosted the flavor. My wife had a delicious English muffin breakfast sandwich with sprouts. I’d like to come back and explore more of the menu.

I’m from New Jersey and I’m a huge fan of diners, so if you find it skewed that I give this place 5 stars I won’t hold it against you. Nothing speaks family or community atmosphere than a local diner. Regulars frequent the place and after awhile you either make friends with the wait staff or with the familiar faces. Café Haleiwa offers excellent service with a tasty menu at great family prices. I ordered their breakfast in a barrel and was very impressed. I’m a big fan of burritos and was satisfied after eating the meal. It wasn’t too heavy and the«home fries» we’re cooked and spiced just right. Everyone’s meal at the table looked delicious and I definitely plan on bringing friends or family there next time. I am also excited about trying their dinner menu and eating outside in the back. I’ve heard lots of great things about their dinner menu and enjoying the nights outside.

We stop here when we drive through Kaleiwa most of the time. It’s a cozy little café. Love the surfer vibe feel. Food is good, just wished they had more breakfast options. We have only been here for breakfast. I got the Hawaiian sweet bread French toast snd two over easy eggs on the side. It was good, too bad they don’t have coconut syrup.

My girlfriend and I came to eat here today for our anniversary brunch and we were very pleased. The staff was very nice and even greeted our dog and made him feel loved. I got the eggs Benedict and it was very tasty! The potatoes could’ve been a little softer but it was all good. My girlfriend got the quesadilla with eggs, sour cream, mushrooms, and bacon. That was really good too! Her beans were alittle cold but it was overall really good! The prices aren’t too bad and we enjoyed our visit. We are planning on returning

This was our second time eating here. We sit down at a table next to the wall I go to sit my purse on the floor and look on the wall is a coach roach crawling on the wall. Not only that it had an egg hanging out of it. I didn’t want to make a scene with the party I was with so I slid as close to my husband as I could away from the wall. I picked my purse up off the floor and held it the whole time. This will be my last review here because after that I won’t be back no matter how good their pancakes are! Roaches are just nasty and I understand we live on an island but it’s apparent they aren’t doing anything to keep the bugs away if this one had an egg hanging out of t and it was out in the daytime.

Whooooooo… heaven just crashed on earth and calls itself Haleiwa Café. So my scuba diving partner and myself went last weekend… On Mother’s Day… On the quest for an amazing breakfast, that would substitute us not being able to dive due to the surf. The second we walked in, I knew that this place was going to be amazing. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with avocado, and I’m not going to lie as Gordon Ramsay would say it was bloody amazing perfectly balanced… Nothing could be changed to make it any better than it was. …well maybe accompanied with by a bloody Mary. Sadly no alcohol is served at this café so we were lucky enough to enjoy great service amazing food and unlimited yummy coffee. I will not obsess too much about to the home fries but if you die before trying them and their amazingness then you have not lived. All in all the food was great the service was excellent and I will be going back very soon ! Enjoy!
