Ordered a Tai shrimp roll, the wrap was completely dried out, told waitress the reply was«thats because they make them the night before» and didn’t even offer a replacement or to take it off the bill. Tourist trap!

I think another one of those signs that you are aging is when you see all the eateries of your past disappearing before your eyes! Bleh! So when my hubby and I heard that Jameson’s By The Sea was closing on Sunday August 16 we both had to make an effort to go one last time. As it was one of our early dating dinners. The place does look a little worn for ware but the view is still awesome the food was not so spectacular but the 4 stars was more for nostalgia. The service was also sub par but what the heck they are closing in one week… We also looked at the memorabilia shop. Just a mug for $ 25 and shot glass for $ 15. I liked this joint but pass… I will just end this review by saying thanks Jameson’s for some nice memories and decent food.

Not reading Unilocal,I stopped by because the location and outdoor seating during sunset drew me in. The food is not why you come here, that there is food is a bonus. Yes, their Ahi is fresh. The lobster tail is previously frozen… The Mai Tai is strong and good. The breadbasket isgood, soft wheat dinner roles.

Upon hearing the news Saturday that Jameson’s would be closing in the very near future I decided to make the drive to North Shore to hit the Paalaa Kai Bakery and to stop in for a very nostalgic visit at Jamison’s. This was always a favorite of Honey Bunny’s and mine, always a watering hole for our circle island drives. This was the first time I have been here without him. At 10:00 in the morning this place was jammed! I parked in the loading zone, as usual, as there are no deliveries on the weekend and it was, as usual, the only spot available. All patio dining was full so I headed to the bar which was fine with me because the local flavor is best inside with the colorful surf motif and dudes hanging from the night before. Everyone at the bar was eating breakfast and drinking a Bloody Mary. I, of course, joined in the fun with the best French Fries and the greatest Bloody Mary on this side of the island IMHO. Talking to the patrons and bartender was very informational. This place is owned by Andy Anderson of Frank Fasi days. Apparently he has decided the place needs a face lift and renovation to make it more appealing and draw a bigger crowd. Not sure where all these new customers will park as the dirt lot is always full now but maybe he intends to put in a parking garage too… JK! Supposedly a sports bar on the bottom with TVs and games to draw in the younger crowd and a dining restaurant enlarged upstairs which will feature the wonderful view of the harbor and sunsets. What ever is in store for Jamison’s I hope they keep some of the flavor it now has. Love the blue panel van in front. It has been there for the 30 years we have been coming. The Fudge shop is no longer open and neither is the art gallery which once shared the space. A small gift shop still maintains an area with shirts, dresses, blouses and small items for tourists. The Tiffany lamps throughout and the wall art are great features too. If you get a change to stop by before it closes in August, no date given, you still have time to get one last breakfast, lunch or dinner in with a great view and service.

Great view! Pulled through about 7pm on a Tuesday looking for a few cocktails and a nice patio dinner spot. Great Opakapaka! Don’t order the Mai tai. Most of the other cocktails are yummy. Filet mignon was good and tender. Great atmosphere.

Good service. Just lost its shine. Unfortunately and Sad this place will be closing soon. It’s going to turn into sports bar soon according to the regulars. Will be missed. Great memories in this place. RIP.

4 stars for ambiance! I love eating by the beach. You can see Haleiwa beach when seated out doors, very nice. The place had a great beach town vibe. The li hing margaritas were delicious and slushy! The food isn’t spectacular, but not bad at all. The calamari was pretty good and so was the Cajun chicken wings. I liked the batter, it reminded me of old school Woolworths fried chicken. I would order these appetizers again. The thai spring rolls were just ok, the ends were a little hard. I would come back here, Jameson ‘s has a great vibe and cool gift shop as well!

Good view, high prices, only acceptable food. Few over cooked shrimp with white rice= $ 28. Drinks are ok but $ 9 for a Mai Tai… Staff is friendly

April 23, 2015: The view is excellent, but not the food. My wife ordered grilled prawns. Being less hungry, I ordered a shrimp/crab sandwich. The prawn(shrimp) entrée was a disaster. The entire plate reached our table cold and had to be reheated. It was supposed to served with clarified butter, but the«butter» had absolutely zero taste. The vegetables consisted of uncooked carrots and broccoli the size of tennis balls. The sandwich, on white toast, had no recognizable ingredients other than mayonnaise. No shrimp — no crab. The deep fried potatoes had been drenched in a batter before being deep fried. The batter had no discernible taste but managed to hold the grease very well.

Took my brother in law who is visiting from Missouri! Food was delish. We all enjoyed the chowder! The view was fun, people watching, the water, the sky! Our waiter Jason took very good care of us! The bathroom was not in the best shape, but when you gotta go, you’re not that picky! Learned it was closing in Aug. so bought me something from the gift shop in case I don’t make it back! Get out there and visit them before they close, you won’t be sorry you did!

This place was conveniently located near the sea turtles we were looking to visit. I liked the no frills character of the restaurant, old wooden bar and antique cash register. The food was simple but good. Service was pleasant. Great spot to relax and have a drink and a bite by the beach.

Terrific Wait Staff and Pupu’s We went to Jameson’s for appetizers(pupu’s) and cocktails. The waiter was so friendly and fun, a throwback from the 1970’s lifestyle. Really great. He sat us immediately outside so we could enjoy the sun as it was descending into the sea, although because of the location of the restaurant, the view of the water is obstructed a bit. We order a Hawaian micro-brew beer, Pina Colada, and a mai tai-all strong and really good. The potstickers were very fresh and tasty and we also had some prawns. The menu items are really pricey but sharing a couple of appetizers is perfectSitting on the patio was perfect. It sure is fun to go everywhere in flip flops and a cover up!

On the North Shore, open on Mondays. This place was good not great but has a beautiful veiw and top notch service. Easy parking and a good menu Very pricey, but its Hawaii, you don’t come here for a budget vacation. I was here with my family who I don’t see much of so the meal was heaven because of the ambiance and the company.

A nice place with a very friendly staff and a wonderful view of the ocean. I had the Ahi fish with Cajun spice which was tasty. The maitai’s are strong and somewhat expensive. Overall the place is pretty pricey, but the location is good and a nice sit down option on the north shore.

Stopped for dinner after a day on the North Shore. Great balcony with views of the beach and sunset. It would have been a lot more pleasant and warmer if the winds were calmer but the views are still beautiful. The food was ok. The crab and shrimp melt was overwhelmed by the American cheese — a different more subtle cheese would have let the crab and shrimp stand out. It felt kinda cheap with the fake American cheese. The fish sandwich was ok and nothing special. We did like the Taro rolls they served with the meal the were sweet and fresh. Come for the view and gave a drink.

I enjoyed my lunch here at Jaimeson’s. First of all you sit under a balcony across the street looking at Oahu’s north shore. I like this. Service was wonderful. I had a lunch special, so they may not have this when you’re there. It was the coconut crusted shrimp with white sticky rice and lightly steamed veggies. Very good. The shrimp had a couple different dipping sauces. Wish I remembered what they were. I enjoyed them both. Let call them Yum Yum Sauce and Yummier Sauce. The white rice was super sticky and super excellent. Why doesn’t everyone make their rice this way? The veggies were zucchini and carrots, slightly steamed so they still had a bit or a crunch to them. I’m not sure why this review is 4 stars versus 5 stars but that is what my gut is telling me to award. I would recommend this place. If I’m lucky enough to be back on the north shore of Oahu, I’ll be back.

I’ll give this restaurant 3 stars only due to easy parking and the great sunset view of Haleiwa Beach. Other than that, the food was sub par. Came here on a Wednesday night. It was decently full on a Wednesday, but mainly with tourists scoping out the North Shore. There was probably only one other local group in the restaurant. We ordered the calamari for our appetizer, and I got the scallops with a loaded baked potato. The calamari was weird. It was a calamari steak sliced up thick. Not your typical rings. It was too thick to my liking and tasted like chewing rubber. It also was fried in the same oil as mozzarella sticks because that’s what it started to taste like. It was not served with cocktail sauce, but rather marinara sauce which made it remind you even more of cheese sticks. Blegh. The scallops were cooked well, and tender. I got a decent portion of scallops. Maybe about 6 – 8 pieces. It came with a delicious loaded baked potato and veggies(steamed carrots and broccoli). The scallops were drizzled in butter and capers. I love capers, but the scallops could have used more seasoning. We were seated right outside fronting the beach. The sunset was beautiful and there weren’t many cars parked on the street to block our view. The bill was pretty high, so this is a tourist trap. I don’t think I’d eat here again, but I crossed it off my bucket list!

We thought happy hour was going on when we arrived, but unfortunately it was the weekend and they didn’t have happy hour. Also, happy hour is only offered in the bar area, and we wanted to set on the patio. Anyways, we were there so we decided to sit and get a cocktail in the early evening. There was only 1 other table occupied at the time, adding to the rather old, worn-out, past-its-hayday kind of feel to the place. We ordered a couple of boozy mai Tai($ 9). They came served in short glasses garnished with lime, showing not exactly a flair towards presentation. We watched the waves and relaxed with 1 round of drinks before leaving. The place was still rather empty even though dinner time was right upon us. The ambiance was rather lacking; we were there during the low season but the entire place felt a little sad.

I came to celebrate my Anake and Anakala’ s(Auntie and Uncle’s) Anniversary. In fact, the foregoing was one of the main reasons for my recent trip to O’ahu. Jamesons is located across the beach on Kam Highway, North of the bridge by Hale’iwa Harbor. This is primarily a seafood restaurant and some of the local fish served includes opakapaka, mahi mahi and ulua. They also have turf like NY, filet and lamb. I opted for the seafood combo($ 32.95) — Grilled ahi, shrimp(3), and scallops(2). You can have three types of rice on the side, a baked potato or garlic linguini. Your dish also includes steamed broccoli and carrots. The food was OK. The ahi was a good sized portion, but was served a bit cooler vs what I prefer. The shrimp & scallops were nothing special. The same goes for the white rice and veggies. Overall, the food was decent, but overpriced: 3 Stars. The ambiance was extremely touristy: Generic faux bamboo chairs, flowery motif and a dolphin fountain out front. However, the view of the harbor is very nice and its worth it to come to the bar and order apps, if you are not going to have dinner: 3 Stars on décor, 5 Stars on view. The service was excellent. Our waiter was helpful w/the menu & specials, really attentive and accommodated our special requests. We also received a complimentary slice of ice cream pie: oreo cookie w/vanilla ice cream, covered in hot chocolate and mac nuts and whipped cream all over: $ 10.95. My cousins at my table dug into too quickly for me to take a pic, but the dessert was excellent: 5 Stars. I would definitely come back to Jamesons, but probably not for a full meal. There is better seafood in town for the price. However, the view is excellent and the service is outstanding!
