I came here today to volunteer for Hawaiian History Class. Coming to this fish pond reminded me the days I used to do it so much along with Lo’i patches in elementary school days! :) The staff is so welcoming and wonderful to be around. Especially if you’re new there, they treat you like Ohana. They have a community project once a month every 3rd Saturday of the month along with fun activities and events you can bring your family to! You must go on their website and reserve your spot though! For community service type projects if you dont have Tubbies or gloves to use, they provide for you to borrow and they’re in excellent shape too! Not no «bussup» or ghetto kine! Lol. They have have all the tools and equipment you’d need to clean bf or whatever project you’re assigned to fro. Wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, picks, paint, brushes, water hoses, buckets, etc. They also give you a little history of the area before you work on it along with tours for those who come to visit(which I have not been to yet but have seen people come in today). Although I’m either always working, busy with school, or my toddler son; I know once my son gets older whenever I have days off I’ll definitely be taking him with me here to volunteer and«Malama Loko Ea» :)
