The Old School sandwich was worth the stop! The pork was the best I’ve had, would definitely come back!

My friend and I went to this place for breakfast. The portions are very generous, and the prices are sensible anyway. We ordered the burrito with Kalua pig. MMMM! I enjoyed it very much. Super juicy and tender. I am getting hungry just thinking about it. The lemonade with mint leaves also was a good refreshing drink!

BBQ pork bomber is the way to go. If you love Hawaiian food why not try it with a little twist in a burrito form. This burrito is by far my favorite type of burrito. It includes kalua pork, caramelized onions, rice, cheese, and guava BBQ sauce. Honestly think the sauce is what makes all the difference in this burrito. It makes it moist and delicious and adds another layer of flavor onto the smoky-ness of the kalua pig. It’s around $ 10 which I think is pretty reasonable for the size of the burrito. Every time I head out to the north shore I always stop at this little hole in the wall place to get my cravings satisfied. Trust me, definitely worth the drive even if you’re not planning on going to the beach!

I got here at about 7AM and there was a line outside of the door. I got the Kahlua pork bomber with guacamole on the side. It was a very good breakfast burrito. Loaded with potatoes and one of my favorite kahlua pig. I also got a strawberry mint lemonade, which was good!

Easy to find parking, no outrageous line, and food comes out quickly. Tried the old school sandwich, which had tender Kalua pork, caramelized onions, and a great vinaigrette. When you’re bored of shrimp trucks, and you’re just craving meat, you should drop by for breakfast, lunch, or milkshakes.

Came here on a Tuesday morning at 10 before exploring the north shore. Ordered at the counter: Kalua pork and bacon burrito $ 7ish and 3 sliders $ 10 for me and my gf. The burrito was bomb, hit the spot. Burrito came with a Cup of salsa. I wish I got just the Kalua without the bacon for the burrito though. The biscuits were good itself but the stuff inside wasn’t much special except the Kalua pork. The eggs were scrambled pretty well. Public Bathroom is located behind the building facing the parking lot. Parking: ample of parking in a huge lot. This place is facing the street if you have trouble finding it.

Delicious! I had the veggie wrap and everything was super fresh. My husband had the bbq pork sandwich and loved it. My sister, who is the pickiest person known to man, loves the burrito with kulua pork. Like loves it. Try the lemonade too!

Good stop for lunch along the road, had the Pork Bomber, the pork was cooked very nicely and the BBQ sauce was flavorful but not overpowering The also have fresh squeezed Limeade(and lemonade as well), a very nice treat on a hot day

This little unassuming place that is something just above a hole in the wall has some of my favorite food in Haleiwa. Whether it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner I do not hesitate to get a burrito if I am in the area and have gone more than a week without one. Apparently they have things like coffee, sandwiches, and other things on the menu. You need not concern yourself with these things. Though from what others tell me the coffee and sandwiches are pretty dam good you should probably try them. I personnel just stick to the pork burrito with sauté’ veggies. Also, don’t forget the avocado cilantro sauce. It is really freaking amazing.

This is a great little unassuming spot in a complex of spendy gift and souvenir stores. Reviews seem to be mostly about their breakfast, but we came here for lunch and we’re really pleased! Girlfriend got the turkey bagel and I got the pork plate. We devoured everything. The pork was super tasty and flavorful. Slow cooked for 12 hours but not in the least bit over-dried. Served alongside some white rice, pineapple(probably from Dole down the street!), and some homemade ketchup/bbq goodness to dip it all in. Altogether a really satisfying meal!

Really cool place in Haleiwa. My fiancé and I stopped for lunch after a long and muddy morning hike and both had a kalua pork burrito. Whenever i’m in Hawaii I try to stuff my self with as much kalua pork as possible and this place definitely had some good burritos. There was a line but the food comes out quick and it was nice sitting outside on the picnic table. Haleiwa is really a cool town and we will definitely be back to try breakfast.

Delicious breakfast food and refreshing beverages. I got the biscuit slider trio — biscuit sandwiches with egg, cheese and bacon/sausage/pork. It was super hardy and very good. The meats were delicious, and the biscuits were buttery and flaky. I also ordered the limeade with mint, and it was very refreshing. There isn’t a ton of seating inside of this place, but there’s plenty of seats outdoor. I don’t think people come here for the ambiance… it’s definitely all about the food. Prices are decent, and portions are pretty good too.

Yum! I ordered the kalua pork and bacon breakfast burrito and it comes with potatoes and some peppers(mild) and I was so pleasantly surprised. It was made perfectly! Not all drippy and soggy. You can add salsa to spice it up or they have a good selection of condiments. Although I wish they had Tabasco sauce. It was good just plain! I will be coming back to Kono’s real soon for another breakfast burrito before a day of adventure at the North Shore! I wish I would have found this place sooner! And I could have probably ate 2 since they were so delish! Highly recommend!

Triple Crown Sandwich, ham, bacon, 12-hour kalua pork, slaw and guava bbq sauce sandwich with potato chips: small sandwich for $ 14.99. Good taste, but definitely not worth the price! Dark Paradise Shake, chocolate, mint and oreos: really thick and delicious! Excellent! Special fruit waffle, with fresh pineapple and whipped cream: hardly any fresh pineapple, which was very disappointing. Pig in the Grass: fresh salad with avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers, and kalua pork. Great taste and great papaya seed dressing! Ono!

Great local spot for quick breakfast sandwiches and amazing milkshakes. My wife and I stopped by here as our last meal before heading to the airport. The place is definitely, hip and happening with many frequent visitors. My wife had a veggie bomb(breakfast burrito) and I the pork bomb. The meal was delicious and filled with rich flavor. Our only request was substituting our egg for egg whites but they apparently couldn’t that made us realize that they get soo many orders that probably mass produce the ingredients such as the eggs, potatoes, veggies and pork. Not too sure how I entirely feel about that but the sandwich did taste good. We also had a lava milkshake. The bottom was fortified with strawberry and the top was ice cream with milk and piña colada. It tasted delicious! I would get again and again! There is very limited seating inside and out although this is primarily due to shear number of visitors. I enjoyed the outdoor seating but we shared a picnic table with with a few other guests.

Great relaxed atmosphere, perhaps too relaxed? Love the food tho, have been coming to this spot for years and never once tried it, always went to the coffee spot in the same lot for coffee and breakfast burrito ! What a colossal mistake, Kono’s had better coffee and their food is not even in the same Galaxy ! Try it you won’t regret it, although hippies are everywhere.

Can’t get enough of this place! Super nice people that helped us decide what to get. Drinks are freshly made and the food is legit! Ended up with the #3 meat combo and the wife ended up getting jeez. i can’t remember because mine was so good! Salsa too is also amazing! Take a bow Kono’s! Great job!!!

Kalua pork, bacon, eggs and potatoes??? Literally some of my favorite breakfast eats all in one burrito. The simplicity of this burrito is really what makes it special. Wish I could have tried their Portuguese Sausage burrito, they were out. Doesn’t it sound pretty damn bomb too?! Décor is pretty cute, the place seems pretty established. Service is speedy, staff is friendly and spot is conveniently located near all the popular beaches in North Shore. Really glad I stumbled upon this spot, and I’d revisit if ever in the area.

My brother recommended this beauty of a pork/milk shake serving parlor. We were famished after missing breakfast and made our way to Haleiwa down on the beautiful North Shore. After parking at the shopping center who’s name escapes me at this time. We rounded the corner and my eye caught the awesome billboard of a pig standing on a surf board. Walking inside the busy establishment, the employees were focused but friendly. The TV inside was showing a surf competition(appropriate). The menu has lots of options to eat and drink. I immediately keyed in on a certain item. The Triple Crown Sandwich… Three kinds of pork consisting of ham, bacon, and Kalua pig. Additional toppings include cheese, slaw, and a guava BBQ sauce. ORDERED! Next up was the shake. Calories be damned as this had the potential to be my only meal of the day. My bro ordered up a macadamia nut, peanut butter shake. Later tasted by myself and was a total masterpiece. I wavered between that and a mac nut cookie(made by a local baker) shake. I figured since it was a specialty shake… ORDERED. We took a seat outside along the Kam Hwy. Some local chickens decided to join the party which included my 5 month old nephew. Within a short time, names were called and meals were served. The shakes were sampled first. My shake was awesome but the peanut butter macadamia really broke da mouth! Sizing up my brother, I thought about taking his and giving him mine(still good but not as). I thought against it because it would be embarrassing to get my butt kicked in front of my brother’s son. The Triple Crown was spectacular! It was as if all the perfect portions of a pig, laden between a tasty roll exploded in my mouth! Who ever figured out guava was the perfect compliment to swine is a perfect genius!!! It also came with a super fresh green salad. It’s nutrients adding to the pork and mac nut buzz… I was already experiencing. So fine was the meal that afterwards, I walked back inside and thanked the head honcho for one of the finer meals I have experienced on the island. Mahalo Kono’s! Hau‘oli Pua‘a!
