Customer service is alive and well at this store. The store manager Nate was extremely helpful in my exchange and price matched Amazon’s price. It is rare to receive any kind of service these days and I will defiantly shop here again and I hope more people will support this brick and mortar retailer.

Think«Cabella’s» or «Gander Mountain» but without the glitz. Think«Army Surplus» without the dingy, creepy feel to it. Military, law enforcement, EMT uniforms and gear. All the basics in outdoor gear is here, with decent pricing, too. The store is a little on the dark side with a feel of organized chaos. Hand lettered signs and a mish-mash of fixtures also gives an outlet store feel to the place. the help is friendly and, well, helpful. I heard a guy on the phone tell a customer no, we don’t have it, best bet for something like that would be Rutabaga. That happened on Christmas Eve, something right out of Miracle on 34th Street. Lots of interesting stuff, here and there you’ll find close-outs and first rate merchandise that’s marked down to here. «Wow! Really? That’s a good deal!» I was here on Christmas Eve and watched a guy walk out with a kayak, I can’t help but wonder who the lucky guy/gal is and how he’s gonna get it under the tree — let alone, gift wrapped. Which gives you an idea of what you’ll find here — hats, gloves, fishing gear, camping stuff, boots, marine accessories, the aforementioned kayak, and the special pants needed by coppers and EMTs. Outdoorsy folks, give Sherper’s a visit. Non outdoorsy types, give Sherper’s a visit and have fun!

Shopping in this store is like walking through my survivalist wishlist. Staff was friendly and they have a great selection of 5.11 gear which I love getting to check out in person before making a decision. It’s a no-frills, markedly non-corporate environment that has its own chaotic charm — somewhere between an REI and an army surplus store.

Nice selection of average stuff. Be sure and bring your smart phone with Red Laser to check the prices — some things here are priced much higher than REI. But my question is why does it look like half the people working there or visiting there are either white supremacists or sovereign citizens? I say that semi-tongue in cheek — but only semi.

Best Outdoor/Surplus store!!! I shopped here all the time when I lived in Milwaukee, and always make sure to stop in when I am back in town. They have a ton of stuff there. I still have all of my skiing clothing from there as well as all of my kayaking gear. A couple cool vintage army surplus items too. Staff was always friendly and knew there stuff too. Easy to walk away feeling I made a good purchase!

Tbis is a fun place. In terms of outdoor gear, they have everything that you don’t need and lots of stuff you might want! I wanted a neon yellow biking jacket. They had the correct size iin Oconomowoc. They will have it delivered to this store and will call me.

«It’s my obligation to let you in on the organization’s one and only bylaw: We’re men. The women are men. The children are men. The men, of course; men!» This is a store for the dudes, and I’m sure our friend Dr. Percival Cox would agree. When I was a kid, I would dream of hiding in one of the tents until the store closed and treating the store as my own personal playground. As a young adult, my friend and I used to play a game wherein we would go to Sherpers and walk around until we could agree on one thing that the both of us would buy. Best outcome: Divers knives… WITH ankle sheathes! Bad ass. Worst outcome: Government surplus MRE’s. Bringing a 4 day ration of these things out into the woods is probably the best weight loss plan ever devised. I still love this store, but there isn’t a whole lot of focus. You’ve got an aisle of random military surplus here, a bunch of tents there and one aisle with the biggest cast iron frying pan on earth. There are flags and caps and machetes. Boots, cots and paintball gear. More or less, it’s American Science and Surplus for the outdoor set. If you;ve got the time to kill, wander around a while and you’ll find something awesome.

Better and more focused than the larger Rei or Dick’s sporting goods, or Outdoor World, Sherper’s has everything you need for camping, backpacking, fishing or any other outdoor sport including hunting.(They also carry paintball guns — I wasn’t expecting that.) No-one gives you weird looks if you ask to try out the sleeping bag. Sherper’s has a good selection and at good prices. It’s easy to see why it was voted one of the top sporting goods stores in the Milwaukee area in 2009.

Sherper’s is a great place to find hunting, camping, and other outdoors supplies in the Milwaukee area. They’ve been around for many years. Their Hales Corners store used to be in a somewhat cramped and crowded building, and when the area was redeveloped, they ended up in a very nice storefront that’s spacious and well-organized. It is a little on the small side, compared to something like Outdoor World at Gurnee Mills, but the staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and you’ll probably find what you need here.
