If you enjoy sleeping on a bed that feels as though it is made of a concrete slab, then this place is for you! If you enjoy waking up without back pain and being able to walk the next day, I might recommend somewhere else. Maybe not all the beds are like this but the one in room 207 is rock HARD! Even my husband said so and he likes a super firm bed. There was more I did not enjoy about this place but it really is about having a decent sleep at the end of the day and I was not able to do much sleeping here.

We booked our stay here after our horseback riding adventure at sea horse ranch and we are happy about our experience. Other than the stained towel issue they have… they have great customer service and the room is great for the price!

Made reservations for the Pumpkin Festival. It was difficult finding a room but was able to book a double queen room here. It was very pricey but the room was fantastic. It had a fridge and microwave besides coffee maker and iron. The tv channels were great and got to see a movie I had been wanting to watch on HBO. The breakfast was better than average. I liked the Seattle’s Best coffee maker which grinds and brews each cup. There is a Chinese restaurant right next door and they deliver but you can easily walk there. I’m thinking of staying again if we go to SF since the hotel rooms in the city are so crappy. Overall a very nice experience.

I stayed at this hotel at the last minute. I made my reservation over the phone and when I we talked on the phone I was told the room would be a $ 169 including taxes and when I got to the hotel they told me $ 169 was the room rate not including taxes. I was already tired, I had my dog with me which is one of the only reasons why I stayed there. I was in no mood to argue so I just went with it and I’ve learned there really is no winning in these situations. If you are coming with a dog be prepared to sign an agreement with a long list of rules and if for any reason any of these rules are broken you will be charged $ 100 for each broken rule. I found it odd that we are to pay a $ 30 fee but not allowed to leave the dog in the room to go have dinner. I probably would understand if the room was extravagant but this room smelled, had an old pepperoni on the floor, stained towels and a smoke detector hanging from the ceiling. I will not stay here again. Very disappointed with my stay.

I’d give it a 4.5 stars if I could, since I cannot, it’s a 4 star, for one specific reason why I just could not give it a 5 and one other reason that it’s most likely not their doing. Read on… Pros: * Price * Very courteous * Very clean and neat(and I did check THOROUGHLY for bed bugs and ticks, JUST incase. Not being anal, cause if you bring some bed bugs home, it’s just as difficult to get rid of as some psycho ex-girlfirendS, see how I emphasized girlfriend as plural! Casinova, don’t hate me for something that was caused by genetics.) 1st Con: * I’m used to drinking tap water in San Francisco and I figured that Half Moon Bay is not India and shouldn’t be that much of a difference, so I drank about 4 – 5 small bottles of the Half Moon Bay’s lovely tap water at the Inn. About 11 hours later, at around 2:40AM, I freaking started salad shooting, back and forth to the toilet I went. My freaking stomach was having periodic rolling pain and each time that happened, I knew it was time to make a mad dash to and sit on the welcoming throne again, that porcelain god became my best friend for the next 2.5−3 hours, did not get back to sleep until late 5AM. After getting home from that joyful experience, my stomach felt bloated and achy for another 1.5 to 2 days, before it completely dissipated. Before we left the Inn, an employee stated that Half Moon Bay’s water purification plant possibly uses detergent in the water, which is ok for bathing and such, but not so good for drinking,(HOLY crapola), if they actually knew that, maybe they should put a nice big sign by the facet stating«DONOT drink the tap water, or else you will become BFF with the porcelain god», if they did that, it would be more of a positive(at least to me) to show that they truly care that much about their guests. 2nd Con(most likely it’s not their doing at all): Must’ve been the previous guest(a-hole prankster). We were having a good night sleep, UNTIL12AM exactly, the freaking alarm clock went off at full blast, sounded like a fire alarm or something. It FREAKING woke me up quickly and I was scrambling to figure out WTF was going on, cause we also had two children in the room, I soon realized it was the alarm clock going ballistic and shut the mofo off asap. If that guest read this review, go F yourself. Other than the above, I would not hesitate to use America’s Best Value Inn again. Just DON’T drink the Half Moon Bay’s unfiltered tap water.

We enjoyed our stay American Best Value Inn during the Silicon Valley Triathlon in April 2014. Joel and another young lady at the front were super friendly on both days, our room was nice and roomy, the continental breakfast totally exceeded my expectations, and the location was close to the water and not too far away from the popular businesses. We’ll ill definitely be back! PS: For those people who complain about this place — I assume it’s because you paid a lot and expected 5-star looks and service. Please remember you are in Half Moon Bay. Want a ridiculous amount of bang for your buck? I suggest you skip HB next time and try Reno or Gilroy! lol

Was in town for a Stanford football game on Saturday and 49ers game on Sunday. Our house in El Granada is on the market now so empty but we wanted a place to stay overnight close to our house(to do 1 final check on house.) BUT, needed a dog friendly place as had our husky with us. Finding dog friendly places in and around is SF Bay Area is easy if you have a purse dog, but not so easy if you have a regular-sized dog. The room was clean, the front desk employee was fast and we had zero issues. Is it The Ritz? No. But it was also $ 90. Had clean sheets & pillows, towels, free wi-fi and a fridge for the dog food and water. Plus as we left saw that they had a free breakfast that was considerably better than those usually offered at these types of places. I’d stay again if I needed a dog friendly room on the coast.

Great hotel! Great Value! Room size is decently large, Refrigerator and microwave in unit, Flat screen TV with HBO(although TV is kinda small) Hotel is right next to highway 1, but there is absolutely no noise inside the room, Really friendly staff, Walking distance to the beach, although there are much better beaches within a 5min drive, 2 surf shops next door, 7 min from fabled Mavericks beach. All around great experience! 5 Stars!

This place was okay. I didn’t like the way the non-smoking room smelled. The bed was hard and would not be a good«face plant» test. The place was clean.

File this under un-fing belivable. My brother and his family flew 2000 miles from the midwest to be here for our mothers funeral. He had reservations for 2 rooms at the America’s Best Value Inn in Half Moon Bay. The night manager comes out in a crappy mood and gets into an argument with my brother. He then cancels his reservations leaving my brother, sister-in-law and 2 kids stranded in the parking lot at 11:30 at night. My sister-in-law told him they were in town for a funeral but he didn’t care. The cruelty and insensitivity of the manager was mind boggling. In all my 50 years I’ve never heard of something like this happening. This guy needs to be fired. My 79 year old father grieving for his wife was totally upset about the way his family was treated.
