We love CCP! The director, Maru, and the teachers are all loving, caring and skilled educators. Our little one started about a year ago, and when he began he didn’t have many words. He is now talking all the time about all his friends and all the fun field trips and games he gets to do. We are very happy and would recommend this preschool to all our friends.

We love Coastside Children’s Programs! We did a lot of research on coastside preschools before settling on CCP. We chose them because of the excellent personal interaction the teachers have with the children, the location in downtown Half Moon Bay, outdoor play space and the excercise and exploration our daughter enjoys on group walks. Not to mention they’re competitively priced! Our daughter is always excited to go to school. Within 2 months of her attendance her printing of letters and drawing of shapes and figures became noticably more legible. We are definately going to send our younger son there!

I’ve spent a large amount of my career being trained & paid to assess Preschool Environments with the ECERS, DRDP&NAEYC Accreditation standards. So naturally, when it came to finding a preschool for my daughter when we moved to HMB, I was very particular in what I was looking for. I visited a few preschools in the area that made me shudder. I visited some that were pretty decent. But CCP-HMB Preschool was by far above the rest in meeting my standards. There are things that I still wish were different– i.e. the lack of grass/garden/nature outdoors but I think this school does what they can to make up for the mostly asphalt playground. Highlights that made me enroll my daughter: Small classroom ratios*interactive teachers*efforts made to do regular field trips to the library, downtown, feed & fuel, etc* Music class with John* Ample supervision with bathrooms & classrooms close to each other* lots of art & math supplies * professionalism of the greater CCP organization* Efforts made to have bilingual staff* an understanding of and efforts made to implement the ECERS/DRDP &NAEYC Accreditation standards.

I placed my girl there a bit after she was 2 and a half in 2010. Like most children, she has had her biting stage, her accidents and the staff has been great through all of it. I really feel they know the children and enforce appropriate rules without beng harsh. They are also involved in the neighborhood taking trips and making mini-parades downtown, the library and even local retirement home.

The best thing about this school is that the teachers really get to know all the children and genuinely care about each of them. I feel more like I’m dropping my child off with family than I feel like I’m leaving him at school. They are very organized and emphasize learning through play, although they do have lessons that are a bit more formal, and have helped our child learn about how his body works, the alphabet, they have had guests come in and show the children different animals, and take walks to the library or to some of the activities in downtown HMB, and they got a sneak peek at the setup for the Pumpkin Festival so the kids could learn about this tradition. We greatly appreciate the time and attention the staff pays to the children and the values they help the children learn during this important developmental stage. We can highly recommend this school to anyone wanting a safe and supportive teaching environment for their children to learn and develop social skills.
