Oceanside Painting just finished the exterior of our house in Montara. Moises was a pleasure to work with and added value with his excellent suggestions. He really wants to have happy customers. He has a very good eye. His crew was professional. The attention to detail was extraordinary. On top of all this his bid was the lowest we were quoted. Our house looks wonderful.

Moises and his crew did a GREAT job power-​washing and staining the shingles of our home – it went from drab to gorgeous. They also power-​washed our fences, installed new lights, repainted our house numbers, and touched up/​repainted nail holes inside the house. They are cheerful, well-​priced, and do beautiful work. Highly recommended :)

The last time our house in Half Moon Bay had been painted was over 20 years ago. Needless to say, being on the coast, it was in desperate need of a new coat of paint. After seeing the reviews, here, on Unilocal,we contacted Oceanside Painting and began talking with Moises Contreras, the owner. We were very impressed with his approach to the needs of our house right off the bat. Suffice it to say that he and his crew did an extremely fine job of washing, prepping and painting our house and now it looks like new. I went around looking closely at the work afterwards, and was quite happy to see that all the little places that could have been overlooked had received equal attention that the more obvious locations had.
Neighbors have come by to ask who performed the make-​over and we were glad and confident in referring them to Moise and his crew. Before concluding, I must add that Moises is very knowledgable about colors and how they will look on large surfaces, something to remember when choosing new colors for one’s house. Overall, we are thrilled and recommend both Moises and his very adept, expert and friendly crew for any painting needs one may have.

Moises and his top-​notch crew at Oceanside Painting were nothing short of fabulous. They painted the complete exterior of our house in El Granada Ca. in just 5 and ½ days. The house was in dire need of a facelift and this team proved meticulous and efficient from beginning to end.

They did a great job and in less time than they had estimated. Nice crew. They accommodated my using two rooms to sew my new curtains and I had to go back and forth to iron in one room and sew in another room while they were painting the hallway between the two rooms. They arrived on time, clean up each day and were done a day early. Their prices were comparable to other painters. I glad I went with them and will do so for my paint job.

We hired Moises to give our house a much needed exterior paint job. It was a pleasure to work with Moises and his crew and they were very professional and courteous. He actually saved us ~$ 2000 because we ended up not needing to get the scaffolding that other painting companies required. His overall quote was $ 5000 below the other bids we received. We chose Oceanside Painting because Moises had such a feeling of being an open and honest contractor. I will absolutely be referring others in need of detail oriented painters to Moises.

When I was told that Oceanside Painting was the best painter in the area, I had to get their estimate for my house’s exterior, which was fair, considering all the work that needed to be done. They were very good about suggesting different sealing solutions for my cedar shake exterior (a block from the ocean), and did a great job cleaning it off with high pressure cleaner and then painting 2 colors of trim. The owner is conscientious and readily came back twice to make sure the house looked perfect. He was also very helpful with paint color suggestions.

Oceanside painting did a great job painting the exterior of my house. I recieved bids from three different local painting contractors, and chose Oceanside because their price was very competetive, the scope of work outlined in the bid was very thorough, and the owner Moises was friendly and took alot of time explaining how he planned to get the job done.

This was not an easy paint job… lots of ladder work, multiple roof elevations, eaves, shingles, lots of windows and trim, copper gutters and copper trim that had to be protected etc. etc. Not your standard tape and spray job. In addition, Im a stickler for details, and am particular about the quality of the finished product. My father-​in-​law painted professionally for years, so I made sure to review the contract with him to ensure no details were over looked. I will also add that I worked many years in the building trades and have lots of experience with DIY home improvement and remodeling projects. I know good work when I see it.
Moises is a great communicator, and his crew is courteous and hardworking. With the unpredictable coastside weather, we had to work around days when it was too wet outside to paint. I was very impressed that Moises was not rushed to get the job done, but rather was primarily concerned that the job was done right. Moises and his crew show up when they say they will, and they do what they say they will do. Along the way, Moises was there every day to make sure things were done right, answer questions, and update me on the jobs progress. He is immediately responsive to phone calls and text messages. Another thing that impressed me: many contractors are great at getting the first 90% of the job done, but have a hard time completing the last 10%…Oceanside painting doeas a great job with finishing details, replacing fixtures, removing overspray or splatter, and cleaning up the jobsite.
The most imortant thing: the finished product is beautiful and of high quality. I highly recommend Moises and his crew at Oceanside Painting.

I presented Oceanside with a difficult project– a tall house on a tight lot, many windows and a combination of exterior painted trim and oil stained shingles. I am very happy with the work they did. Moises presented a detailed bid and he and his crew performed every task. He was responsive, flexible when unforeseen issues came up, communicated well and was on time and on budget. I would happily hire him again.

We bought our 1^st house 6 months ago, and the only improvement we could afford to do was to have most of the interior repainted. What a difference Moises and his team made!

We used Moises after hearing his company recommended by several friends. True to the recommendations, he was prompt, detail-​oriented, easy to work with and onsite for the entire project. We had a horrible experience with the painter we used prior to hiring Moises and he came in and made sure all of those mistakes were taken care of and it turned out beautifully. He made sure that no detail was left unattended to and took pride in making sure the work was done perfectly. We have had many, many contractors and workers in our house over the past two years and his crew was among the easiest to have around. The worked quickly and efficiently and were polite and low-​key. To top it all off, Moises’ quotes were extremely fair and reasonable. We would highly recommend him!

I approached my painting project with a lot of questions and not a lot of experience. I had a rather long wish list and needed to sort out priorities etc. Moises was recommended by a friend and his was the second — and last– bid I got. I felt right away that his experience, product knowledge, and understanding of my situation made him the right choice. His estimate made sense to me and was broken down in such a way that I was able to tackle the job in phases, starting with a kitchen cabinet makeover. He explained all the options and helped me with the many shades of white paint, new hardware, etc. I was really impressed with his design sense as well as his overall professional skills, which helped a lot in feeling confident in my choices.
As the job went on, Moises and his crew were great– courteous, flexible, responsive– just a real joy to work with and have around. Actually the suggestions Moises made turned out to be more than helpful and included some important details I hadn’t noticed which needed attention. And I am so happy with the results!

We recently hired Oceanside Painting to paint the entire exterior of our home. We live on the coast and needed to make sure that we hired someone to do a good job because the weather can be very harsh. Moises, the owner, was recommended by a trusted friend who lives nearby. He had just completed his house and highly recommended him. Our house is very tall so we needed to make sure whoever painted was licenses, bonded, insured and carries workman’s comp. Moises provides all of these.
Moises is a great guy to work with. He is very personable, which is rare to find among the typical personalities I have met when getting work done on my home. He communicates well, responds quickly, has great suggestions and his crew are all very professional and friendly. He came by the house everyday to inspect the work and was working alongside his team for much of the project. They did not make a mess and put everything back exactly as it was before they started. Our house turned out great! We are very please with his work and would highly recommend him for your painting needs.
He also does great work on fences.

Moises and his crew painted the outside of my house, and stained the redwood deck and front steps as well. I was impressed that they came back at my request two times to fix several small areas that needed more paint. I thought the price was fair for this area. They want to make their customers happy. Moises always returned my phone calls and emails promptly and he addressed all my concerns. They worked on my house in November so there was rain to deal with but they worked around that and I am happy with the end result. Oceanside Painting is the best!

We are very happy that we chose Moises! We solicited bids from several painting contractors, but where Moises stood high above the rest was the detail in his quote and the fact that he came out to explain the whole process. Oceanside Painting pays attention to the details, such as caulking trim and moulding, using Rustoleum on nails to prevent staining in the years to come, and thoroughly preparing the house before painting. And, we never came home to a mess after a day’s work.
Moreover, Moises was patient in our paint selection. We had never painted a house before so he gave us options and recommendations and painted multiple samples on our house to help us decide — he did the same for the railings we were staining.
All-​in-​all a WONDERFUL experience. We will not use anyone other than Moises for our next project.

Moises responded quickly when I called him about cleaning and painting the interior of our garage. It looks light, bright, and clean in there now. :-)
We had asked him also about sanding and painting some exterior furniture. But he did not give us an estimate nor do that. :-/​

We decided to repaint our home and so we started getting estimates. Moises was our first and I have to say, even though we had other estimates after, I was sold with him with our first meeting. You know how sometimes you can just tell that working with someone is just going to be a positive experience? That was the case with Oceanside Painting.
Once we began work, he was very patient with my requests as to how I wanted the colors and finish to be. What impressed me the most is that he had some amazing suggestions that would have never occurred to me without his expertise. My house looks amazing. People comment to me all the time that they love the look.
Besides the outcome being such a good experience, Moises is great to work with. Friendly, honest and efficient, he’s everything you are looking for in a painter.

Where do I begin about Moises… the saving grace sent to me from the heavens above.
We had our floors and baseboards replaced throughout our new condo. Me, being the DIY person, thought «I can paint the baseboards, walls, etc… no big deal.» Wrong! I spent a weekend painting the baseboards and trim while my husband painted the ceilings. When applying the second coat, I realized some paint from the ceiling had dripped on the baseboards, causing me to sand it down only to have the paint start peeling off completely. This less than two weeks before our move in date and I was running out of time.
I called Moises on a Monday, he happily met me in the evening. I was almost in tears showing him the peeling paint. He simply said «Even if you don’t hire me, here’s what you need to do…» Then he proceeded to tell me the first thing I should do is to take the paint back to Lowe’s and get my money back and he explained step by step of what I would need to do with the baseboards, trim and doors.
I explained to Moises our budget and time constraints and he definitely worked with us. He began on Wednesday, painted the baseboards, trims, 9 doors throughout the house, and the walls/​ceilings and closets of the two bedrooms. Moises and his crew were done by Monday.
Moises even helped me with my colors. Searching for the «perfect gray» was proving to be the difficult task, especially since I wanted the accent wall in the master bedroom to be blue. I had about 6 shades of gray on the wall when he visited. I had already selected the blue, which he approved of and quickly nixed 5 grays. We were left with one gray, which I really liked and he somewhat approved of, but said we needed to go lighter. So, that’s what he did. He took the paint can to OceanShore Hardware, had them match it, then had them go 20% lighter (because I was scared to go any lighter). I came to view it the next day and said «there’s too much blue.» He asked me to trust him and said that he was going to have them take some blue out of the formula and go a little lighter. And now… I have the perfect gray with no name and just a formula on the can! But I couldn’t be happier.
I can’t wait for Moises and his crew to come and finish the rest of my house… once Moises and I can decide on a color palette. Clearly, I can’t make color decisions without his opinion. :-)
