We live 20 miles away from Tres Amigos and this is our favorite mexican restaurant. My husbands favorite is the shrimp burrito and my favorite is the shrimp taco. The service is great. The bathroom is always clean. The tables are always clean. The only thing that i dont like is how the chicken burrito taste. I don’t like the taste of the chicken but this is the best mexican food me and my family ever had. We try our best to go there 2 or 3 times a month… They definitely deserve a 5-star!

Food is good. Service is good too. They just sometimes use too much salt.

Wanna give it 3.5, but net-net. carnitas nachos. They cube the pork so it’s roasted moist, and unlike their(and too many other places…) carnitas tacos. Plenty of parking, and outdoor seating. Cranking Liga MX into an over distorted call of mediocre soccer(vs. La Liga, or Serie A or Bundesliga ;). Reportable with orders that are called in(unlike Gran Amigo)

The food is fair and have had better at same priced places. And… to top it all off, they charged my teenage sons Mastercard 4 times for one order! I realize this was an error on the part of the cashier and most likely, no fault of the owner. However, when I called to make an inquiry, the manager? owner? wanted me to bring in the receipt. Ok… now, Half Moon Bay is a coastal city with quite a bit of coastal tourist traffic, which means that I could live anywhere in the U.S., or the world for that matter. Even if I lived just over the hill on 92, still, that is a nuisance to bring back a receipt that he may no longer have when it was their mistake! We actually live one hour away. She seemed confused about the process to check her records, etc. In the end, she decided to refund back the $ 53.00 in overages that were charged for my son’s burrito and nachos. It is going on two days and am still waiting to see this reflected in his account. If you decide to give this place a whirl, pay CASH only.

Ok so I started going to tress when it was a little shack of a place. 20 years ago. It was thee place to go on the coast. They put a lot of effort into everything did from the salsa to the chile Riernods. But a lot can happen in 20yrs. The biggest down fall of this place, it got too big. They make food in massive amounts. It’s newly renovated and the kitchen takes up ¾ of the restaurant.. They do the best they can to meet the demand but of all the menu items(which is outrageously big.) It’s a taqueria trying to serve hundreds of people a day. So unfortunately, the days of only high quality food from this place have gone away. Even so, you can still find some good items that haven’t lost their vigor. The pollo Assada is still the best offered anywhere. So if u like chicken order it in whatever you get(don’t just say«chicken» or you will get boiled tasteless chicken, Say, «pollo asada») it’s a completely different chicken that’s grilled and seasoned to Mexican perfection. I personally recommend the super wet burrito with chili verde(green sauce). Also Look at the specials. They post the items that are selling well which means locals who are eating here regularly must be enjoying that particular item. Keep in mind a lot of the customers(who are posting reviews) are tourist.

Well to start, the bathrooms were dirty and the rest of the place reflected that as well. The service was barely ok as you order at the counter and as we have never been here, we had questions. They seemed aggravated. The food was middle of the road and the salsa was probably the best thing they had. We had enchiladas with rice and beans. Beans had been warned for long time. Enchiladas were ok but nothing to write home about and it took them long time to serve. Back to Texas for some good Mexican. Go figure?

I’ve eaten here many times and the food is pretty good. I had a bad experience where the food was gristly and not made as ordered… I came back quite upset and they refunded me and made it again correctly. Because they seem to care about their customers and fix problems I am happy. I think that is very important. Good job Tres!

Food is very good, price is fair, and has different salad bar with chips as much as you want. It is my favorite restaurant. Believe me! If you get any chance, try it!

The place in Half Moon Bay to grab Mexican food. They have been here for years and the food is pretty good. I’m never disappointed, no matter what I order. Atmosphere is pretty decent, it does get busy during lunch hours and on the weekends. The people that work here are nice and friendly(I have yet to come here and encounter a grouchy employee) This is a known spot in Half Moon Bay, and it’s worth trying.

This is me and my 4 yr old’s must visit spot when we come to half moon bay. We always get the fish tacos and horchata, and never thought of trying anything else, because they are that good. Their fish tacos are old school. You don’t get mango salsa or tartar sauce or shredded cabbage. What you get is plenty of good quality fish with some onion and cilantro.(They gladly leave out onions and cilantro for my son’s fish tacos) The key is to visit their salsa bar and get yourself some of the best pico de gallo(perfect jalapeño kick) and this green guacamole/cilantro sauce. Dynamite! I read some comment about horchata not up to par, I suspect it’s because the liquid level was running low so the mixing wasn’t done properly. I had a bad horchata once here too. But most of the time, their horchata is very good, perfect match with chips & salsa. Seriously, that pico de gallo is the unsung hero of this place.

Great place for Mexican food along the coast. The place was crowded when I arrived at 1pm, which was a good sign. It’s popular with the locals and me! The place also sells coke in a bottle(sugar-based) which was popular with most people. There were lots of bottles on the tables as folks enjoyed their burritos, tacos and enchiladas. I will be back!

Nice atmosphere, verity of delicious Mexican food along with free buffet of chips and salsa make me want to come back for the fourth time. Wet burrito is huge and really juicy. As for those who like something light and filling — taco salad for $ 6,35 will do the trick. Enjoy!

I ordered chili verde plate. meat serving is huge but the rice is small portion when i said doible rice instead of beans. My friend ordered enchilada plate, and to be honest it’s not really that good. He said its like a generic/package enchilada style. his mexican so i believe he knows the authentic taste of mexican food… we like the chili verde meat but i wish they make it more creamier in the green sauce, the sauce looks sooo waterish but the taste is ok. They have salad bar which i like. The guacamole sauce and picodegayo is good, i like it. The horchata drink is not that good. it’s a good try but for a mexican restaurant u expect it to be the bomb but its not. They don’t have a fountain drink so u order either can soda or ice teas.

This was definitely a surprising find. Quite busy for a Sunday afternoon but it only took about 15 – 20 minutes to order(counter style) then receive our food at our selected table. Our meals came with free chips(a little salty) and an amazing salsa bar. Our table ordered the enchiladas dinner(it was just ok), the jumbo steak burrito(awesome) and the super nachos(awesome). You can easily get stuffed here! Prices are reasonable.

Food was pretty good, and despite how busy they were at the time, when I ordered tacos for my 8-year-old son, the cashier asked exactly what toppings my son wanted. I was impressed at his patience when they were so busy.

I stopped here on my way to Half Moon Bay State Beach to grab some lunch. Got in and ordered my food within 5 mins. Another five mins we was eating. Great fast service. Luckily I got in at the time I did because this place got busy. The food is fair. Needs more flavor in my opinion. The price is decent. I got regular nacho and a quesadilla and it was $ 6 but the portion wasn’t that big. Burrito was $ 8, plate was $ 10. Will have to give it a try again when im back in town and hope I can give it another star.

Clearly a local favorite, this little restaurant cranks out some serious business. After my 7-mile hilly hike, serious business is just want I needed. Like tacos. Hella tacos. I prefer the street tacos here($ 2.25 each). I haven’t had a bad one, but my favorite are the carne asada and the pollo, marinated ever so tenderly with tomatoes. The salsa has a kick. As if that 1500 ft elevation gain wasn’t enough.
