Follow the bubbles and flowers in bloom to a place not unlike Wonka’s Chocolate Room. Nearly everything is edible and sweet, at least to look at if not to eat. Feast your eyes on confections and chocolate… you’re likely to leave with a lighter wallet!

What a cute, fun shop! Friendly staff, organized, clean, and full of great old-timey and young-timey candy! The party room looked adorable and they had tons of great little gift ideas.

Delectable candy dream world. So much great candy. I always get an assortment of gummies. They have so many varieties of gummies, it is amazing. They have wonderful chocolate too. The store is like a dreamland. They also host parties in the back room on the river side. It is like a fantasy world of candy. They also carry a lot of candy that is hard to find and exotic. Worth a stop after dinner.

This place is like a happy daydream; a beautiful, magical looking little shoppe on Hallowell’s picturesque main street. The shop owners are a mom and daughter team, the daughter having worked as a designer in Manhattan before returning to Maine to open the happy sweet shop. Both owners are happy to strike up a conversation and tell you how they came about being here. Colorful fabrics are draped waving though the wide, roomy shop, perfectly cluttered with colorful accents, rainbow colored umbrellas and a large party room in the back. That room is apparently not just for kids’ gatherings, but often hosts bachelorette parties, potlucks and small art exhibits, according to one of the owners. The candy is what you’d expect: plentiful, lots and lots of jars containing everything from Swedish Fish to Maine-made chocolates to toffees and WONDERFUL jellied gumdrops. The shop is a literal feast for the senses and smells as it looks, the gentle smell of fresh cotton candy welcoming your nose as your eyes shoot from corner to corner from the banquet of colors and candies that greet you. Even for me, a jaded, burley bear of a guy, stopping in gives me a smile and for just a brief moment, makes you a happy little kid once again.

An okay place. I always think that candy shops like this aren’t the greatest value though, per pound. But a good selection and some nostalgic items.

It is nice to see a new store on Water Street in Hallowell. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and pizza places not to mention antique stores so candy store is a nice fit. The owners of Scrummy Afters were generous enough to donates gift certificates to a memorial golf tournament we were in and we won a gift certificate. we went in to buy our $ 10.00 of candy and walked out with 25. It is a cute shop with lots of potential. I don’t know if I am correct but it looks like they have room that can be used for parties and events. What great idea right there overlooking the Kennebec river. I one criticism/critique/suggestion: Please organize your candy like with like. As we were filling bags we found it a little confusing having wrapped and fruit candies mixed in with the chocolate covered candies. Some we were not sure if they were«variety» or chocolate. we love the butter pop corn jelly bellies hope you will get more flavors. Will you be making any candy of your own?

We were walking down the street when a sweet aroma called to us and drew us into this lovely store. We entered and were transported to our childhoods and in turn turned into giddy children ourselves. We got some of our fav’s, some gummy cherries and this amazing chocolate they carry from monica’s chocolate in lubec. It was amazing!!! It was a lovely surprise.
