Good Drinks, lots of draft options but the food is no good!

Such a great place to hang out! Loved the live music and the laid back atmosphere. Great selection of beer and decent food. I’ll definitely be back.

The Quarry Tap room is a true neighborhood go to establishment. The ambiance is a reflection of the quaintness of Hallowell, from the exposed brick to the custom painted murals that reflect the history of Hallowell Maine the the eclectic mix of regulars that frequent because of the quality. The beer selection is fresh and diverse and the drink specials reflect what is local and current. The food is just what you want in a «pub» style menu with comfort food offerings balanced by healthy choices like the abundant Kale salad. This salad is a dream! And considering my date wanted something opposite of a salad he ordered comfort food «poutine» with pulled pork, we both had an incredible experience with our food and drinks. My pear martini was sweet without syrup and garnished with fresh rosemary and raspberries. I love the place and can’t wait to go back for an evening with live music! Make plans, take the time, this is the place to visit in Hallowell 12 months a year!

I love their huge selection of beers on draught. Too much TV going on for me to really appreciate it, but when it’s not too busy it’s a nice place to sidle up to the bar and chat with friends. When it’s busy, it’s swamped. I’ve seen it standing-​room-​only many times. I find that the music carries too much in this bar so it gets too loud too fast for my liking. A great place for a small acoustic setup, or a band that knows how to tone it down a notch.
Their fries are pretty good but last time we got the bacon-​dusted ones and the dust stuff was too much. We both accidentally inhaled it and it made us cough. Then I started to wonder what the heck bacon dust is, and how it’s made… and that’s usually a frightening train of thought. Overall, I’ll definitely be coming back, probably during the week.

Stopped in here on my way to Augusta — just happened to catch my eye as I was driving. Glad I did — the beer selection is awesome and even though I wa not realy hungry — I saw a order of fries go by with the waitress and they smelled so good –well I had to try them with my beer! Glad I did!
Can’t wait to go back and sample the rest of the beer and food menu :-)

First visit today…
Much needed funky bar! Great beer selection (Maine Lunch on tap) and great food too… The «quarry soup» was to die for, and bacon dusted duck fat fries were as good as they sound! I will definitely be back!

Stopped in a road trip and had the steak tips & poutine and the shrimp tacos. The steak was yummy and the shrimp tacos were delicious. The guacamole that comes with the shrimp tacos for an additional charge wasn’t really that great — definitely didn’t taste fresh and super small portion size.
Wonderful décor, atmosphere, and beer list — wish we could have sampled a few!

Visited The Quarry recently for lunch after business in Augusta. This is a great addition to the area beer scene and another fine representative of Maine’s great food and beer. The space is well laid out, service is very good, food that we tried was excellent and the beer selection is top notch! Excellent beer options from Maine and around the country. Prices are better than similar options in Portland. Can even get better by adding a few healthier options to the menu. Give this place a try when in the area.

Probably the worst food I’ve had in a good ten years. Don’t be fooled by the menu descriptions. The meal I had featured none of the ingredients listed, was barely lukewarm and may have been microwaved from a box. Go for a beer maybe, bring earplugs and skip the food altogether.

I can’t believe I’m the first to give this place a 5-​star review – I feel honored! Really, this place is as good as it gets in Hallowell/​Augusta. I ordered the Quarry Burger and my wife had the Italian Flatbread Pizza – both were amazing. The selection of local beer on tap is quite impressive and the wait staff were very friendly and attentive. The part-​owner, Anne, even took the time to chat with my wife and I for over 10 minutes despite it being a very busy night. Highly recommended for anyone dining in Hallowell/​Augusta. We will definitely be returning and recommending it to our friends!

Definitely what was missing in the area! Great place to grab apps and drinks, and love the open space. Meatballs and buffalo chicken dip were both delicious!

What a fun place! I was there on a Thursday evening, and the place was hopping. Over 30 different beers from all over, some I had never heard of. The food was delicious — I had the meatball appetizer, and tasted the chicken tenders and nachos, and all were beautiful to look at and tasted great. And check out the mural — an old fashioned black and white portrait of dapper folks at a working quarry… Look closely and you will see some familiar Hallowell faces! Staff is friendly and I love the tool belts and hard hats. Lots of fun. I’ll be back for the live music as well!

I got the quarry tap room salad. Loved it. not just a salad. Hubby got the pastrami sandwich good but needed the fat trimmed. The fries and homemade chips rocked. Had a black and blue. they made it perfect. We will return. The burgers going past us are our next trip in. Service was great. New place but they are doing a great job.

Staff was good, attentive, quick. The Quarry Tap Room Salad was delicious. Hubby’s pastrami was good. A definite return!

Great craft beer selection! We ended up here without knowing anything about it, and we were pleasantly surprised! 30 beers from Maine and away. I didn’t order any food, but all the food looked amazing, smelled wonderful.
Bartender was friendly and attentive. They have a great «buy your friend a drink» wall, fun addition to the place! I’d definitely return.

New bar… unimpressive menu. A kitchen of 6 managed to mess up a burger. Wait staff was slow. Go across the street to the Liberal Cup… really. A place to drink not eat.
